What a feeling .......

What a feeling ....
Bein's believin'.... I can have it all,
now I'm dancing for my life. Take your passion...
and make it happen .....

Like totally! For sure!! Like OMGosh! I'm sooooo channeling my inner 80's self today, lol! Those were my high school days and I was crazy about the music we had then and still today! Almost always my station on the weekends is the 80's rockin' music - non stop Journey, Madonna, Duran Duran, Boy George ...... on and on! And FLASHDANCE!! Still one of my top faves!

Naturally I was crazy when I saw this adorable 80's Anya from TGF! I had that same big hair, sometimes with a stripe of pink or purple, wore those hideous neon colored clothes, jelly bracelets and yes, leg warmers!! I had them in all the basic colors, lol. I should totally like post a picture of me in them ..... like barf! (hee hee!)

So here's Anya dressed for her 80's party for the Farm Fresh Sketch by Cindy for this week - the dsp I've had for forever is by Pink Martini (hell0!) and embodied all the wild and funky music from that era ;) TFL!

So you can totally jam ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeZ5R3C5bzs&feature=related

SSCC #6 - Psalm 19:14

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday. My little man was well enough to attempt going back to preschool today and it seems like he's been away for forever rather than just 4 days. He asked me this morning with sleepy eyes and a big yawn "Mommy? Do you think all my friends learned to read while I was gone?" Oh poor sweetie! The worries of a little mind - sometimes he is like a big mind in a little tiny body ;)

The SSCC (challenge #6) challenge for the week is to make a card letting someone know that you are thinking of them or praying for them. Just this weekend, I found out from an old friend that I'd lost touch with that her father has taken a turn for the worse as he battles end stage Alzheimers/Dimentia. My heart just sunk and hurts for their family and it opened old wounds that have been trying to heal. This week's verse: Psalm 19:14: Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight Oh, Lord, my strength and my redeemer brought me comfort and I pray they do for you, and for the Hogan family. Here is my card, made with my PTI Everyday Blessings Stamp & verse which reads: "Cast all your cards upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

TFL and hug your loved ones super tight today! **Blessings**

What Color am I?

Kelly Green, of course! LOL! (sorry! I couldn't resist!!) :)

This is for the AMM Challenge #2 {scraplift} and I chose Miranda :) You can see her lovely blue page here:
GREEN actually is my very favorite color. As a little girl, when I reached for a crayon in the box, green almost certainly came out first. It just represents so many wonderful things like harmony and balance and peace. There is the wonderful 4 leaf clover that brings Good Luck! I have always enjoyed Christmas with green being one of the focal colors ~ from looking for that special, fresh tree at the Christmas tree farm to the brightest green bulb in the pack of ornaments. And in the springs, the trees sprouting with new leaves and fresh green grass, the sign of all the beauty of life that is being born. Not to mention staring into my daughter's beautiful hue of green in her eyes ........ I just love it!

Here is my take on the AMM scraplift ........ it was a lot of fun to make, esp when I am not so comfortable in scrapping ME. Thanks for the inspiration, everyone! TFL :)

BBL w/ the deets! The paper is not on my pc desk!

SSCC #5 - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Happy Saturday! I have so enjoyed participating in the SSCC #5 this week -- blogger has been quite the challenge today so hopefully, this post is THE ONE! ;) And here's our beautiful dog, Brandy -- she's reading my SSCC card - it must be the deer! Yes, that's it! Tee hee! Destructo-dog is actually probably trying to finagle a way to EAT IT, lol!

Back to the challenge! This week's SSCC was hosted by the lovely Korin from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. {Take a peek if you haven't!} The challenge was to use Fall Colors so this was quite a fun challenge for me - I grabbed my SU cardstocks in various Fall colors along with some matching dsp - brought out a stamp that is very special to me and hasn't seen ink until this card :) (deets soon to follow, I believe it's from Japan .....) It took me forever to color this image with pretty much most of my prismamarkers *smile!* and the old adage "patience is a virtue" kept running through my mind! I'm so happy with the results and sadly, Brandy cannot have it, ROFL! The verse of the week is Ecc. 3:1 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." It has always been a favorite of mine -- and I was thrilled to find it in a set of SU stamps that I had. I paired with some flowers in fall colors and a matching button with twine ...... and here it is! I hope you get the chance to play along, too! Blessings!

Club Anya's Mystery Monday -- Joni

Good evening! Have you heard yet? Club Anya has a new exciting Monday challenge and this week the Mystery Monday challenge is being hosted by Joni. Her challenge is the Rule of 3's! (or to use her awesome color combo of pink, black + white and three different embellies!)

I was able to use my first digi! This adorable soccer image was perfect for my neighbor's dd who plays for her Middle School soccer team - I switched up the uniform from green & white to pink and pink! It was so much fun to use -- and so simple! What have I been so afraid of, I don't know! :) I went with some basic pink & black cardstock, paired with dsp from Bo Bunny {has very faint pink little dots, Cuttlebugged some circles to go around the soccer band (more dsp!), added some ribbon, pink bling, and flower for my 3 elements. TFL!

Let them eat ..... CAKE! Or not ...... :)

Happy Monday!!
I hope your weekend was as fun as mine! We are wrapping up the 2 week long (yes, that's TWO WEEKS!) of birthday celebrations for my little son, who turned 5 and it was quite the "big deal" for him. He has been looking forward to 5 since he turned 4, so it's been a LONG year, lol! His final birthday bash was Saturday at a play place with 22 little 4 & 5 year olds (plus my 3 "tweenageers") and we ended up ordering the wrong size cake -- we had cake, then some more cake, and lots more cake! (UgH! Most of you know I avoid sugar, but let them eat cake, right?!)

This was the pre-cake. I can only show this one since all the party pics have everyone else's kids ...... so to be safe, here is the cake he picked, ROFL!
I honestly was torn between letting them stuff themselves into oblivion and tossing the cake, then had a brain storm. So like all good moms, I cut the cake into big ol chunks and brought the box into the back yard. That got a few looks from the kids ....... until I decided to do what all proper moms would do and ..........
Throw the first glob of frosting!
FOOD FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
We had an absolute blast! They were covered from head to toe and it was MESSY!! But what is life if you don't enjoy it and make it fun along the way :) Even our dog got in on the fun and was wandering thru the grass eating it rather than get out of the way - check out her lovely matted fur in shades of white, yellow & blue! Ruh-Roh! My WAV photo didn't work via upload, it's pretty funny watching this "live" lol but here are few stills ..... including my "SAFE!" captured picture ..... positively shameless, I tell ya.
Blessings to all!

Gettin' Sassy again ;)

With Sweet n Sassy stamps, that is! Lots of hugs and kisses to pass out this week and many prayers being said for lotsa different reasons ................
This set has a beautiful little bunny and lamb, so I gave the little lambie a try this time around. They are truly wonderful stamps to "play" with!

I stamped the lamb out on matching DP (from the MFT line) that I used for the border, paper pieced his ears & ribbon and then realized I wasn't sure if it was a "he!" But here, he is a he, lol. My dd said at first glance it looked like a little boy card, but it was meant for a (lady!) friend .. so I opted to use the red flower background paper (MFT) and gave it some punched matching flowers to make it more girly girly ...... at least I hope I did, what do you think?

ROFL! If you look closely at the bottom, you can see my fingers in the shadows, lol ... what on earth was doing? Doh!

TFL - deets to follow, need to get to bed! :)
Hugs & kisses!

SSS21 Challenge ;)

Short & sweet post tonight! I recently discovered a new stamp line, thanks to my dear friend Lorie. It's called Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and they are just the cutest stamps wrapped up with wonderful sentiments and christian images. This card is following their SSS21 challenge and I used the stamp/sentiment from Hugs for Janessa.

I reaaaaaaly need to get a new camera! But I propped up the little bunny with a 3d dots and paper pieced the ribbon. It was wonderful to make this card as I wanted to send a special card to a friend who really needs a hug, and I can't be there to give her one. TFL and hugs to all!

I'll be there ...

Hi everyone ~ I hope you had a wonderful weekend and Monday is being good to you! Kids are all dropped off, and I'm ready to try to tackle the treadmill after ... um .... a week off - oops! We were up late watcing the MTV awards - gahhhhh, didya not just LOVE the New Moon trailor! We had so much rain this weekend that it was a good time to stay indoors and just craft and craft, except for church + picnic we had yesterday despite the dark, gloomy weather!

As most of you know, my dh is battling HL and this is an awful time for us. He has a battery of tests and scans and lots of bloodwork to go through x4 a year but once a year he had head to toe scans. This is that time. He hasn't been feeling so great and I have noticed a slight change in him - I can see the worry in his eyes, even though he doesn't think that I can :( I have learned to treasure the moments of having the house to myself so that I can cry without worrying who will see me. I'm so blessed to have friends that are so sweet and listen to my fears and worries. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

But ...... back to cards! I made this one for dh this weekend and put it in his car ;) The wonderful stamp was sent to me by lil dj, from the sisterhood - thanks, sweetie! I inked it up because it was perfect. A little girly with the huge flower, but it seemed like a nice focal point to start. (deets will be later, I misplaced the little paper I wrote it all down on!)

Blessings!! xoxoxo

You did it!

This has truly been a stressful week and my heart has been very heavy. It is nice to be able to turn to crafting to "get away" even if it's only to hide in my craft room for a little while! While it's been hard to focus and really get into it, I needed to make several cards, including this one for my daughter. I had just recieved my order of the new In Style stamps Anime - have you seen them?! Gahhhhhhhh! They are deliciously cute! This little sweetie's name is Yuki. My girls used to watch Sailor Moon when they were little and I knew the second I saw them that I had to order a couple of these darling little girls. Now, I just have to ..... um .... learn to color them, lol! ;)

I found out at the end of last week that my dd, Chrissy, tried out for Florida All-State and made it through Round 1. She has a voice that would make the angels stop and stare! (a proud mommy moment, sorry!) There are 2 more rounds to make it through so the upcoming month will be filled with anticipation and hopefully joy :)

Sending blessings your way!

xoxo

Kit-Cat Kick-off! :)

I just love the sound of that :) It's the premiere "kick-off" night for the KitCat Club! When I returned home from our Europe trip, I realized my mojo was just gone :( I saw a wonderful idea on some of our sistahs blogs (you know who you are! ;) to jump start my interest in cards & scrapbooking again and with the help of some of my fabulous sistahs, the "fun-ship" began! So a traveling card KIT idea was born and since we are copy-CATing the idea, the Kit-Cat Club formed. The idea is simple! We all take the same stamped image, but use a different "kit" to put together a card and see what we come up with! I love how everyone has a different view to paper and unique outlooks on creating. Through this, we learn and grow and gather ideas! Please be sure to stop by and see the other talented gals! Catherine { http://paperaddictcatherine.blogspot.com/}, Lorie {http://thethinkinspot.blogspot.com/}, Jeanette {http://creativeplayischeaperthantherapy.blogspot.com/}, Michelle {http://ticketbelle.blogspot.com/} and Susan! {http://pinkflannelpajamas.blogspot.com/} to see their take on the Stampavie Leele Aldrich stamp! (and a big thank you to lil dj for sending me this fantastic stamp in my SS basket to play with! *muah!*)

I'm sorry for the bad picture taking -- my camera is absolutely on it's last leg! I will try to retake another one for ya - the colors are really vivid and bright (my trademark, lol) but the card looks very muted, blurry and yellowed here - blah!

TFL!

You can visit her here!: http://lovepapernstamp.blogspot.com/There is still room so you should stop on by and sign up and check it out! I love this Elzybells stamp set - it reminds me of one of my favorite Emerson quotes "Hitch your wagon to a star" ....... it just speaks volumns :)

Big Hair day ...... LOL!

Okay, I am utterly exhausted ;) I have sat in the hair salon for exactly 3 hours taking dd14 to get her hair permed for the first time and it took FOR-E-VAH!!! She has stick straight, baby fine hair like me (ahem!) and wanted it curled for picture day in like 2 days so ..... we went! She looks so cute .... but I know I'm biased :) I about fell over at the cost and the excruciating wait but alas, she is done and very happy :) And a shout out to my gal pals Catherine and Karen who kept me thoroughly entertained via text while I was about to spit some nails! Not ..... those ...... kind ...... of ...... nails ....... ha ha! A little Salon Humor :)
So, I captured these very quickly - it looks AWFUL, it's still wet, but I'm sure once it dries she'll like it for picture day ;)

Lastly, my other "hair"post is the Anya Birthday card I made for the talented Miss Kadie's card swap on SCS ...... who is a brand new TGF Gardener!! We all KNEW she would be soaring high, so I'm not surprised at all that they scooped her up - go Kaders!!!!

Deets: Birthday Anya, TGF papers, Ric-rac from the LSS, SU! Scallop punch, stickles, prismacolors, Tombo, 3d dots
