CCEE2215 ~ National Kindergarten Day!

Hi friends!

 Today is National Kindergarten Day!

The CCEE Stampers have a new challenge this week ~ make a card

using primary colors and basic shapes!

Easy Peasy!

Except I snuck in some green.

:)

I know the primary colors, I do ... I do!

I'm just exercising a smidge of artistic freedom

to compliment the 4 shapes in 4 different basic colors.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers Design Team

and see what they've made this week!

Thank you, Liz, our April hostess, for another great challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

DD2 ~ Holographic Sparkle!

Hello loves!

It's time for a new duel at the Dueling Darlings 2

with a theme of: Holographic Sparkle!

Our hostesses for the month of April are Terry and Darlene ~

and it's oh. so. sparkly!

First, WELCOME BACK, Terry!

She was on of our original teamies when we started 11 years ago :)

She also sent me this beautiful card kit

filled with glitz and glam papers and gems that shine!

I decided to use the 2 glitter cardstocks in purple and blue

and focus on those ~ as well as color the image she sent along.

These birthday candles are so fun ~

and I used my copics to color them in the matching colors at the paper.

There was so much in her kit,

I have enough for a 2nd and 3rd card!

Thanks, Terry!

CCEE2214 ~ Look Up at The Sky Day!

Hi friends!

I'm back with ano

ther beautiful rainbow card ~

always a cheerful sight!

Liz is the hostess for the month of April

and has a lovely theme this week:  Look Up at The Sky Day!

She says:

It’s "look up at the sky day.”

So recreate something you love as a beautiful part of God’s huge canvas

(maybe a starry night, a bright rainbow, sunrises or sunsets,

 or beautiful cloud formations.

Here is my card!

I've used Tim Holtz distress oxides for the background

and die cut it twice for dimension.

Then I added an embellishment piece I made one Wednesday

to cheer up my loved ones, friends and besties!

I think this one is just so cute :)

I actually created them using paint swatch samples!

It's using these embellishments I made for my channel:

That's it for this video, my friends!

Be sure to check out the rest of the CCEE Stampers!

Hot Mess = Success and March 3M!

Hi friends!

Today's card (image) is playing double duty today

since that's crazy thing called LIFE keeps pulling me from crafting :)

It's the 3 Musketeers mystery image

and the Hot Mess = Success #33 card wrapped up together!

Like a burrito.

Just without all the fixins!

BUT I have to say ........

FUN was the word of today!

You can see the video version of this card here

on my YouTube channel!

My card starts off with the stamp from the 3M card group

sent to me from Jeanette for the March image ~

thank you!

I decided to do some messy play

and create a card (which you will see at another date.)

For today, I literally dumped out watered down acrylic paint pots

and made a collage of painted swirl.

Once it dried, I created a Reverse Spotlight Technique card

using a 2nd stamped image,

added some dots and a sentiment and voila!

LOVE this sweet card.

I don't say that often!

But I do love this one :)

And that's it!

Be sure to see what mess these lovelies created, too:

DD2 ~ Coffee or Tea?

Hello hello!

I'm still playing catch up with my cards so this post will be short :)

Back on March 15th, the DD2 posted cards with the new theme:

Coffee or Tea!

The hostesses were Barb and our newest gal, Lorraine

and they had a dueling theme of coffee (us!) or tea (them!)

I love both both but if I don't have tea, I'm okay!

if I don't have my coffee ..........

RUN.

Kidding!

This month, I used nearly every. single. scrap!

I made a memory dex card since us 'tubers (that's YouTube!)

seem to use them A LOT.

It was fun!

This was fun!

I did 'coffee dye' the paper and then die cut it out and popped it up.

I used the Tim Holtz rosette die to create those

and an assortment of dies to make all the other shapes!

I also had enough little scraps left to create a matching tag:

3M: Wedgewood Bunnies!

Hi everyone!

Happy weekend!  Ours is jammed full

but I was able to steal away a few minutes to create a card!

This month, I'm the hostess of the 3M card group

{Barb, Jeanette and myself}

and I chose a VERY old wooden stamp set from Great Impressions.

Since it's Eastertime, I was feeling this stamp!

I was thinking the other day when I was at my mom's house

how much I loved her wedgewood china when I was little.

She keeps trying to give me pieces of it now

"take a plate!  have a bowl!  want some tea cups?!"

and I keep refusing :)

I stamped out this image in Paris Dusk from Memento

and this just might be the first time I've ever used navy blue ink!

I used some Echo Park paper for the background and the 'grass'

which is a super fun plaid.

And that's my card!

You can see Barb's card here

and Jeanette's card here as they are the other 2/3's of the 3M!

I'm the one in green :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The ONE new in '22 ~ April!

Hi friends!

Today's card is for my One Plus Twelve card series ~

 my FAVORITE!

This year, in 2022, I chose Pink Fresh Studio's Butterfly.

This month, I've used a leftover background piece

from a recent acrylic paint pour that I did.

My granddaughter and I made a pot for her other abuela!

The paint that lands in the box from the paint pour is amazing!

I used several sheets of watercolor paper to 'sop it up'

and after it dried, used it for amazing stamped images.

You can see the video here!

I double die cut the center of my card and added one butterfly

to the base

and one to the top popped up on foam.

The outer layers of my card are intentionally plain and white

since the focal image is super busy with rich colors and paint.

I added a few gold enamel dots for an extra pop!

Love how this turned out!

Be sure to see what Barb and Jeanette have created

this month, too!

The sentiment is from a sentiment strip by CZ Designs -

love it when they are done for me :)

Here's a final look:

That's it for this post, my friends!
