Howdy, Pard'ner!

Happy Weekend, all!
It's a whole lot rainy and yucky here in Miami,
but onward we roll with the kid's weekend activities ;)

And I'm still moving along with my personal challenge this year
to "Use Every Stamp" as per the MCC challenge.
It's almost my BIL's birthday and I wanted to make a card
to reflect him, which is hard, since he does 'one of each!'
He's raised and trained quarter horses for many years now, as well as did his fair share of rodeoing in the past :)  So I thought inking up my Bronc Buster stamp set would be fitting - keeping it pretty basic as he won't mind - LOL!
As a confirmed batchelor (unlike his brother - my dh - with 4 kids!), he'll be tickled to see a card from his "olden days" :)

Both images are stamped in Early Expresso ink from SU!
as well as the dsp - Western Sky from my hoarded stashed pile :)
I kept the embellishments to the bare minimum as I didn't want to
add any flowers or over embellish it.  I added some hemp cord and hemp ribbon to give it that 'western' feel.

And that's about it from me today!
Have a great weekend, friends!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
~Kelly

  2. Great masculine card! He's going to love it!!! I'm working through using my stamps too...fun isn't it? Oh - and you asked about the Orange Blossom Cake...here's the recipe: Get in the car and drive to Leaches Sweets & Meats in Barberton Ohio. LOL!! Yep - I bought it. But it would be simple to make - yellow cake with a thin lemon filling (3 layers) - you could use lemon curd - frost with orange frosting and put coconut around the sides....voila! Orange Blossom Cake!

  8. Great card, Kelly! A perfect mix of blue and brown, on the dsimple side, but enough special touches to add 'love' in.
The Bronc Buster set is a fave of one of my daughters. Hmmmm...I'm thinking we haven't inked that one up for a while, either. Better go clear a spot on the scrappin desk! =)

  15. A great card for your BIL to be sure! I like how you tore the DP and used hemp trim to keep with the rustic, masculine theme that the images have. Good job on this one, Kelly.

  18. What a fantastic masculine card. I so regret not buying this set and your card just reinforces that I made a mistake. I'm hoping maybe we get this image in the June, for, say, a'Best of...Masculine' in honour of Father's Day.
