Hello friends!
Welcome to the Day 3 on my blog
of Unity Stamp Company showcase!
Today I'm sharing with you a glitterly winter card -
penguin, birdie, snow capped mountains, snow!
Have you ever gone up on a snow filled mountain to ski?
And the drop was. so. big. that you just might have been afraid
to ski back down?
Me, too!
Once, on our family vacation, my daughters and I took to the slopes
like naturals and zipped in an out of the flat areas.
like ....
very. flat.
And it was so much fun!
But then the trails started downward .... and downward ... and downward!
I literally got to the top of the last drop off slope and just froze.
(hee hee - no pun intended!)
My middle daughter zoomed past us and skied to the bottom
shouting "yaaaaaaahoooooo!" all the way down.
me?
I stood still until my oldest daughter said she wasn't leaving without me.
"We'll go down the mountain together or not at all!" -Kailtyn
"We'll go down the mountain together or not at all!" -Kailtyn
I did make it to the bottom of the slope.
Upside down and not on my skis,
But I did make it down!
I ended up somewhere near the orange safety net
looking a lot like this cute little penguin here :)
My husband says to this day it's one of his favorite memories of me.
ever.
Isn't he hilarious?!!!
Today's card is using a glittery cardstock background from DCWV.
I've stamped the ADORABLE penguin from Pain and Pride
which is just one of the most adorable stamps.
I've created a background of die cut mountains and added 'snow caps'
and popped the card up on foam for dimension.
This stamp set is perfect for vacations and wonderful memories of trips,
and even mixing and matching with your sentiments from other kits
and stamp sets.
Thanks for stopping by today!
And whatever you're doing today - stay safe! :)
Big hugs, bigger blessings!
~Kelly
Love your mountains behind this guy along with the whole look of the card. Back in my 20s when I was fit I learned to ski, but it was in Ohio. On our honeymoon we went to the Austrian Alps and I took one look at those mountains (with cliffs on one side and forest on the other and said no way. My husband still laughs that we never did ski, but it was beautiful.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great story, Kelly, really made me smile. I've only ever skied on a dry ski slope.... and that was scary enough! LOL! Love your card, such a great image.

ReplyDeleteKelly obviously you didn't grow up in the snow...like we are getting more now and our temps are dropping, argh. You just have to remind your husband if he wants to see you in that bikini again he will forget the skiing image, lol. Your card is awesome!
