Drink up the Sunshine!

Happy weekend, friends!

School starts back up for the kids here
after a long winter's nap!
Oh it's going to be rough ~
we've been having too much fun and enjoying the holiday break :)

Today's card was so much fun to make!
I live in sunny South Florida
so for us, it's always summer :)

The CCEE Stampers card group has resumed this week
(silly me! I thought it started next week with the school schedules.  oops!)
with Lynn as our hostess. Her challenge is June in January ~
a nod to those that live in Australia that are currently in summer weather, too.

My heart aches watching the news with the raging Australian wildfires
and the tremendous loss that's being shown.
I am not sure what I can do from my little corner of the globe
but I am certainly on bended knee.

I decided to create a card based on MFT Stamps sketch challenge ~
it's intriguing!
The second I saw the sketch, my mind went to water panels
and memories of lazy rivers,
which we go on often on our vacations.

I created the panels first by using Ranger distress oxide inks
and blending them on white cardstock.
I cut them down to size to fit the A2 card,
and then cut and colored the images and sentiment to place it on the water,
popping them up on foam.

Here's the sketch and I'll enter this into their challenge:

Today I'm off to organize my son's room ~
changing his room furniture around and purging out some old clothes.
Who knew teenage boys grew by the WEEK! :)

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly

  1. Beautiful card, Kelly. You are lucky to always have good weather. The bush fires in Australia are awful, so many fires and so many people and animals suffering. Hugs. Valerie

  2. Kel your card is just too cute. Our kids went back on Thursday and my daughter being a teacher....believe me she was not happy starting mid-week. Not sure who complains more the kids or teachers, lol. We have sun today, but it's 30 degrees so not exactly swim suit weather. So enjoy.

  7. What a gorgeous card Kelly - my grandies are enjoying their pool this summer! Today the smoke from the Aussie fires (2,000 kms away) turned the sun blood red here before blocking it out altogether. Rather eerie.
    Blessings
