Writing My Story (card #2) ~ the beach!

Hi friends!

Today's card is my 2nd in my new blog series:

Writing My Story

I asked my husband, my 4 children and son-in-law to

write down 12 things (2 each) that are ME in their eyes.

They did!

My oldest daughter sealed them in a little jar

and will give me one at random each month.

You can see here on this post about this new blog series :)

This month, I'm going to the beach!

I absolutely LOVE the ocean ...

in fact, my blog is named after going to the beach with my kids

and building sandcastles!

My oldest daughter was the one who wrote this:

I do, I do!

We haven't gone in a long while because the kids are a little older

(and had college and jobs, etc)

but we spent so much time at the beach!

I still take myself from time to time, reading a book under

a palm tree and enjoy the sun and surf and taking photographs :)

This little Pure Innocence girl is from My Favorite Things

and it's appropriately called Beach Day.

The background is a simple acetate splash background

and I added a frame to give the card a little centering.

She looks so much like my daughters when they were younger -

little tow heads just like this :)

I was inspired by this week's IC challenge and found this bikini

and paper pieced her hat and bikini with dsp I had that matched.

I colored the images with copic markers

and I added the sentiment to the inside of the card.

And that's my card!

Everyone has a story to tell -

each day ... a new page to turn :)

I can't wait to see which of their notes is next for me!

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I loved reading your post, what a lovely idea with the notes. Your card is beautiful, really cute. We only live about 20 miles from the coast, but haven't been to the beach for months as we are in lockdown and have to stay local. Hopefully the restrictions will be lifted in April and we will certainly be heading towards the sea then. xx

  5. What a pretty little card Kelly, and the colours and design are fabulous. I love the beach too, hate sand though, but of course Scottish water is far too cold to be swimming in, but I love beach walks and love the see the waves crashing in. Must be so different in your neck of the woods, where you have warm water and constant sunshine, take care, Kate x
