Techniques on Tuesday - Spotlight/Reverse Spotlight

 Hi friends!

Today on my blog I'm sharing 2 cards

using Sketch Flowers by Simon Says Stamp!

As part of my creative week,

I'm introduching Techniques on Tuesdays ~

every other Tuesday.

You can watch the video on YouTube here:

Techniques on Tuesdays is a great way to revisit

cardmaking ideas and techniques that we have have forgotten about.

What's old is new again!

For Episode 1, I've used the spotlight / reverse spotlight technique

and just love the simplicity of how it looks

yet it really has a WOW factor!

Here's card 1:

and card 2:

With the spotlight technique,

I kept the die cut panel where the circles were pulled from.

This way, it's easy to use the panel for a reverse spotlight

and I was able to create a second card.

Easy, unique and in under 10 minutes I created 2 birthday cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

 Lots of love!

Hey crafty friends!

Hi crafty friends!

Happy Tuesday!

This is typically the day of the week where I'm running in circles!

Here's to a SMOOTH last week in June :)

I'll be adding a lot of photos to my blog in the upcoming weeks,

including my #Onein23 (One Plus Twelve)

and 3 Musketeers (3M) and more.

It will be like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

For this card, it's absolutely ME.

Whimisical, bright fun colors and a bit of a mess, LOL!

The theme for this card was for a fun card group

started by my friend Lucy on Instagram.

Her theme was anything geometric

and I immediately thought of circles - AND a dog!

Mine often go 'round and 'round and ROUND some more!

This turned out cute, I think!

Lots of love!

3M: June's rainbow flowers :)

Hi friends!

One of the most beautiful colors on the planet ~ rainbow!

I love colors!

Today's beautiful rainbow flower card is for June's 3M

and that would be the 3 Musketeers!

My lovely friends Barb, Jeanette and I are in a card group

and post our cards on the 9th of the on month.

All of my cards for 2023 so far will be coming up

(I've posted them to my Instagram in my blogging absence)

but for this month ~ here it is!

Our image this month is from Catherine Pooler Stamps!

It's called Beautiful Beginnings and it such a gorgeous stamp!

I chose to make a rainbow flower for the month of June

and sharing that I am an ally for LGBTQ+

I also paired it with my Catherine Pooler quilted die

with a peek-a-boo lighter rainbow background

created with distress oxide inks blended with Taylored Expressions

blender brushes and sentiment!

Be sure to stop by Barb and Jeanette and see what they've

created as well ~ you won't be disappointed :)

 Lots of love!

Fluttering by with a WARM hello!

 Hello sweet friends!

Happy HALF BIRTHDAY 2023!

We are already half way though the year

and what a half year it has been!

Some good, some not so good, and a whole lotta in between

but as grandma used to say ..." tie a knot to faith and hang on!"

I am so glad to be back to blogging!

I've missed it and ALL OF YOU!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made two of -

intending to make just one.

I had so many bits and pieces left over that I just kept the fun going :)

Using the butterfly from Pink Fresh Studios and distress oxide inks

from Ranger and other dies, here are the butterfly twins:

Card One:

and Card Two!

The differences are subtle as far as the design

but I kept the same color palette through out.

I hope this year has been good to you!

I'm looking forward to catching up and rediscovering

some of the groups I used to be in <3

  Lots of love!

~Kelly
