Hey BOO-tiful ... WASHI doing?

Heeeeeey BOO-tiful people!

I'm back on the Gerda Steiner Designs blog today

with my 2nd post as a Guest Designer.

It has been SPOOK-tacular!

(Here is my first post if you'd like to see that one)

I continued the fun with the Halloween Ghosts

and added some Halloween Washi Tape, too.

I added the washi tape to cardstock in strips

and then ran it through my die cutting machine with a cityscape die.

It's giving me Ghostbusters vibes!

I colored the ghosties with copic markers and think the one

with the glasses is my favorite ghost of all time!

I added some clear irredescent glitter paint to the distress ink

so in a different light, it changes colors

Here's a final look:

Thanks so much Gerda Steiner Designs for

the fun opportunity to play with your stamps and dies

and washi tape and for the generous gift :)

Stay tuned - you'll see that next week!

Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

If one door closes ...........

 Hi friends!

I'm back on the blog today at

Crackerbox Stamps

with this festive ghostie card!

And as you may see, I had fun with this one :)

I started with this cutie:  Sketched Ghost

and stamped it onto different backgrounds of rainbow distress oxides.

Once dry, I used a circle die to die cut random holes

for the ghosts to peek through.

This sentiment If One Door Closes is so funny!

This is a solid sentiment so I took a little extra time and ghostly magic

to mask off the stamp.

I wanted it to be in 2 parts so I stamped the top first,

masking the bottom part and then reversing!

I used white embossing powder to give it a little extra glow.

Are you ready to shop!

Right now, there is a sale for past Halloween/fall stamps

and you can find them here.

No coupon code needed - just fill up your cart!

AND EVEN BETTER!

The 50% off SALE continues and you can see the goodies here!

1 stamp company, 3 cards!

 Hey friends!

Happy Monday!

Today I have a trio of cards to share

for the Create 3 card hop.

The idea = 3 of anything on 3 different cards.

I'm more of a one and done kinda gal

(which is why I bomb at card swaps!)

BUT!

 Sometimes bulk is good :)

I have a sweet friend who is a teacher

so I thought of her while making these

and will send her these to give out as she needs.

I kept them super simple and in primary colors.

I'm SO SO sad Your Next Stamp closed it's doors!

I am lucky to have been a guest designer for them

and they sent me this stamp and die set

as well as a very VERY generous amount

of other stamps and matching

dies to add to the ones I'm treasuring in my collection.

I wish Karen (owner) all the best in her future endeavors!

Wishing you a terrific start to your week!

Thanks for stopping by,

Kelly

Let's create homemade PLAID!

Hi friends!

Today we are MAD FOR PLAID!

This creation is part of the FALL-ing for Wednesdays

card group where each week, we have a theme.

This week's theme:  Create a card with homemade plaid!

The fun part is I suggested this week's theme

to create a card with handmade plaid in any fashion

or in a pinch, use a stencil or designer paper.

I went with a handmade creation using paper strips -

a terrific way to use up scraps!

You can watch the 60 second YouTube shorts here:

To create this card, I used scraps of cardstock

and tiny strips dies from Ellen Hudson.

I paired the plaid background with the wonderul Simon Says Stamp

and Reverse Confetti Stamptember collaboration

"Autumn Blessings"

This was a fun challenge!

A labor of love but a wonderful technique all the same :)

Gerda Steiner - Guest DT / Halloween Ghosts!

Hi friends!

Do you know a GHOST'S favorite time to drink coffee?

In the moan-ing :)

Today is an exciting day!

I'm Guest Designing this month for Gerda Steiner Designs

with 2 posts ~ one today and one on 9/24!

They had a call on Instagram to apply for a GDT

and I thought I'm a big fan and that sounds like fun - let's do it!

They sent an amazing package of goodies ~ stamps and dies

and washi tape from their new release.

Since it has debuted, I can share my 2 cards using

Halloween Ghosts and the metal die BOO!

Thank you so much Gerda Steiner!

My first card is more traditional with the adorable ghosties

out Trick 'o Treating!

I added them to a background of patterned paper

and just love that bold BOO!

I'd definitely open the door and hand out candy to these cuties!

Next up, this card is a for a special little boy who's birthday is

the day before Halloween :)

He is having a superpower birthday theme

so I went with whimsical, comic style reds and blues.

That's the beauty of Gerda Steiner stamps - you can mix and match.

The background is watercolored and then die cut for a peek-a-boo scene.

And here they are together:

Be sure to head over to the Gerda Steiner blog

to see more amazing inspirational cards!

And, if you like these stamps or want to check out their store,

Happy Hauntings!

FALL-ing for Wednesdays ~ Leaf Peeping!

Hi friends!

Fall is in the air!

There is something so magical about this time of year ~

the colors, the scents, the beauty of the changing leaves.

And today's card is a reflection of that beautiful

trek to see the fall foliage:

 Leaf Peeping!

This one was so much fun to make!

We are on Week 3 of the FALL-ing for Wednesday card group

and we are showcasing cards made with all things LEAF(ves!)

I started with a stencil from The Crafters Workshop

and created the forest of beautiful birch trees.

Fun fact!

The Young's Weeping birch tree is often a common leaf peeped tree :)

I also stamped and die cut this cute fall stamp set from Hello Bluebird.

I think my favorite part of the scene I created

is the little squirrel living it's best life

and jumping in the leaf pile!

And that's it from me!

Thanks for visiting today!

Spooky September: Week 1!

Hi friends!

It's officially September and the start to all things spooky!

Truthfully, I've seen Halloween

in some of the stores I frequent since June :P

And last month,

Christmas was already out BEFORE school supplies!

Whhhhhhhaaaaaat! :)

My card today is for a 4 week Instagram series

I was invited to be a part of with my sweet friend Kelly.

Each Monday in September,

she gives us a 3 color combination and we make a card background.

Any stamp, any design as long as it's the 3 colors + SPOOKY!

I went with this adorable Big Grumpy from Taylored Expressions.

Kelly chose these 3 colors this week:

Evergreen Bough, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot.

I used my TE Blending brushes to create a background

and added a haunted forest frame.

I stamped it out and then die cut Big Grumpy

and colored it with my prismacolor markers

along with the Halloween accessories.

To take it just a smidge further, I did a challenge to use ONLY the 3

colors in my entire card!

In hindsight, I won't be doing that next week, LOL!

So my card isn't super spooky, especially for Halloween,

as cute, funny and whimsical are more my vibe!

Here's to a BOO-tiful week ahead!

Thanks for stopping by!

National Bake and Decorate Month!

Hi sweet friends!

September has a few holidays you may know,

but it also has a few that might be new to you!

Like National Bake and Decorate month :)

This card was so much fun to bake make!

I used my @lawnfawn stamps Bake with Love and

the mice from A Creature Was Stirring

to create a fun baking scene.

My daughter is the baker in the family and self taught ...

this girl needs to open a bakery!

I thought I'd send her this cute card with a hint

not to forget her homemade pecan pie when she visits at Thanksgiving

*wink wink!*

I'll enter this to Lawn Fawn's challenge 155 - 3D projects

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's See in '23!

Hi friends!

This is my August card for my card challenge Let's See in '23

where I take one stamp and use it all year long.

You can see the idea here in my original debute post

and this is my 4th year of this fantastic challenge!

And, shhhh, it's actually my favorite challenge!

I invited 2 friends to join me in this challenge years ago

and they are Jeanette and Barb

who post on the scheduled days of the 3rd of the month.

You can see the video for this card on my YouTube channel

and use that hashtag #funcardfriday for your cards, too!

So for August ~

I've channeling some Lavender Haze!

Heeeeeey #swifties

I chose Waffle Flower Crafts Larkspur for this year's stamp

and watercolored 1. the background and 2. the flower!

I do have to say, I'm no Albrecht Durer but I am

loving the turnout!
