Summer in Nantucket ...

Hi friends!

Welcome to summer in Nantucket!

This has been a fun-filled week of cardmaking with sharks

and coming up with fun ways to incorporate them into my creating.

This was an idea I *saw* in my head (ahem - first red flag!)

and when I went to actually make it ....

welp.

So, here's my we-just-stopped-by-the-giftshop-on-vacation postcard!

Kinda looks like the ones we'd get back in the day, right?!

Honestly, it's almost funny ... especially with the LIGHTHOUSE

in the MIDDLE of the ATLANTIC OCEAN.

Double ahem.

I used various Lawn Fawn stamp sets to create this fun card

and a theme of Red, White and Blue for my Wednesday

card group on Instagram.

The ink blend was using Distress Oxide Inks and if you look closely,

I inverted the ocean with the darker 'bottom' on the top.

Totally meant to do that - YEP! :)

3rd Annual Shark Week - 2025!

Hey CHUMS!

 It's Shark Week 2025!

This is one of my FAVORITE times of the year,

inspired by my son when he was a wee boy.

He's grown now with a life of his own

but we love to keep the tradition - and fun - going!

For me, that's cards, too!

I put out a 'casting call' for Shark Week themed cards

to join me this week and it was a FIN-tastic party!

This is one of the several cards I made using

Lookin' Shark by Whimsy Stamps.

I also added colorful sea kelp and shells from Build-An-Ocean die set.

I LOVE the colors of this fun card ~

made with some help from my granddaughter.

(She was painting and I didn't want to waste her finished paint

so I just smooshed it around on some cardstock

 ~ waste not, want not!)

Check back tomorrow to see another shark card ~

my favorite one in the ocean!

Thanks for stopping by!

3M: Little Things!

                                                                      Hi friends!

It's the 9th day of the month which means it's another edition of

The 3 Musketeers card sharing post day.  We are 3 friends

that take turns mailing each other a 'mystery' image

and in turn, we create cards and post on the 9th.

This month, it was my turn and

I chose Crafty Meraki's Little Things stamp set.

I went really outside the box with my card, chosing to ink swipe colors and then splatter it with gold metallic paint from Tim Holtz.

I also stamped/die cut the floral image and added a gold border and sentiment.

Fun, fun!

Be sure to see Jeanette's card here

                                        and Barb's card here!

Blimey! Ye arrrrrr old!

Ahoy me hearties!

We're checking the treasure map
to show you a fun card technique!

I have a fun card to share using Whimsy Stamps products!
This was a fun card created for my Wednesday card group
to share a technique learned or invented :)

I actually created a coffee stained paper and made a map
BUT
I messed it up badly with the background stamping
and quickly had to rethink it.

So distress oxides for the win!
Once it was dry, I die cut the map shape using Treasure Map
and stamped the Treasure Map stamps on the cardstock
and then distressed the edges for a Ye Olde World look.

I also stamped, die cut and colored images from
the Blimey Pirates stamps and dies collection.
This turned out so fun and PUNNY at the same time :)

1 + 12 Thrives in ' 25 ~ July!

Hurray for the Red, White and Blue!

For the July edition of the One Plus Twelve card challenge,

I opted for a patriotic look :)

Hi friends!

Just in case you are new here, Hey!

The 1 + 12 is a personal monthly card challenge

and you can read about it here.

My card is sharing a stamp/die from Alex Syberia Designs,

a collab from Simon Says Stamp for Stamptember 2024.

I intentionally left it uncolored

for the contrast of the blue and red stripes.

I added a tiny bit of silver to compliment the sentiment strip.

My friends Barb and Jeanette are joining me this year

and you can see their cards on their blogs.

,

Here's to August, where I'll share another edition!

For those in the USA and celebrating,

Happy 4th of July!

1 + 12 Thrives in '25: June!

Hi friends!

Down. to. the. wire!

I am just barely squeezing in my June card

 for my personal card challenge!

Once upon a time, I had an idea to take ONE stamp -

and ONLY one stamp -

and use it once a month.

This is my 7th year of this challenge!

The idea?

We spend so much on our crafty supplies

and often would get a stamp/die/product and use it.

Just once.

So to challenge myself to use my products more than once,

 I came up with

One (stamp) Plus Twelve (months) of cards!

For 2025, I am using Alex Syberia Designs Close At Heart

from the Stamptember collab with Simon Says Stamp.

Since it's June, I went with a rainbow theme!

#ally

I invited my dear friends Barb and Jeanette to join me

and you can see on their blogs what they chose as well!

I'll be back with the July card in a few days :)

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Kell-of-a-mess: June!

Hi friends!

It's time for another edition of Kell-of-a-mess!

This is a spin off of a creative vision I had years ago

to create any card/project with a MESSY theme.

A very busy life kept me away for a bit but I'm back and

oh. the. ideas. I. have!

This month, I have a collab!

Here's a quick recap of the process shortened into 40 seconds!

-

My granddaughter was visiting and wanted 'to do the art things!'

No doubt she is my grandchild!

But in true Kelly form, I couldn't let her leftover paint go to waste.

I recycled it by dipping heavyweight (this part is important!)

cardstock into the paint and let it dry.

Distress watercolor cardstocks are perfect, too!

For best results, let is dry overnight and then stamp directly onto it.

I used Taylored Epxressions Daisy Dreams stamp and die set.

This has been in my stash awhile and never gets used!

After die cutting and building a card base,

3 incredibly unique and fun card blossomed!

Again ~ messy but fun!

I absolutely adore the idea of being able to USE something

instead of just TOSS IT in the trash :)

Here they are together:

Hey CHUMS!

Hi friends!

We at Whimsy Stamps are sharing our shark/JAWS themed

cards in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the movies JAWS.

That's probaby the one movie that changed my life the most!

I'm using the newly released Shark Snacks die set

to make this not-so-scary shark.

Here is the matcing REEL on Instagram!

We ADORE Shark Week at our house!

It's a whole week of festivies, tv binging and

fun shark themed meals and snacks and deserts,

as well as driving around town

getting all the Shark Week themed goodies!

Here's another look:
