Let's get the holidays POPPING!

Hi friends!

Today's fun-day post featuring The Project Bin stamps is really corny ...

POP-corny, that is! :)

The holidays are coming up and that means a lot of teacher's gifts,

stocking stuffers, birthday gifts, etc.

Sometimes it's just plain (not buttered - ha ha!) easier to give a gift card!

Today, I'm going to show you another way you can use your stamps and dies

and really stretch their versatility.

My friend, Vickie, recently hostessed a challenge in the

 Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoaststampers to create a gift card holder.

 Since 
I absolutely LOVE the Just Poppin' stamp set from The Project Bin,

and had an idea in mind on just what to make.

Nothing's butter than a fun idea! :) 

Here's what I did :)

I stamped out the popcorn stamp onto yellow gingham paper
and the bucket stamp onto brightly colored paper.
Then I used the matching dies from the set 
to cut out the popcorn and bucket by using the die and cuttlebug.

Once done, I used the ATG tape to glue them to a small cardstock base,

 measuring 4" x 3" and rounding the corners with a corner punch. 
Finally, I stamped out the fun sentiment and used another die 
in the same set to create the sentiment shape after it was stamped,
and the smaller popcorn piece and propped both on 3d foam.

 For the inside, I needed a way to secure the gift card
 so I went with a classic belly band system.
The band measures 5½" and is scored and 1 ½" and 4¼  marks.
I folded the band at both of those score marks inward
and secured it with ATG tape and tucked the gift card inside.
 

Since I didn't have any envelopes small enough to fit these

(a regular A2 size is about twice as big as these gift card holders),

I made my own!

With #65 pound lighter weight cardstock, I created a simple envelope

following a free template and matched the envelope lid to the gift holder.  

And does it come in other colors?

Why, yes ... it does! :)

I made several of these using several of the sentiments in the set,

like just poppin' by and no one's butter than you!

Super festive, fun and easy to hold gift cards!

First up, I'm showcasing a card using Joyful Song ~ 

a stamp set filled with angelic inspired sentiments.

I've created a card using scraps of bold glitter papers in varied holiday colors

to compliment the choirs of angels stamp as a bold focal point. 
The heart is also glitter designer paper and cut from a die, 
popped up on 3D foam.

For my next card, I've used bright cheerful colors for a more whimsical look.

I've used Maybe Christmas to create this card,

adorned with buttons and enamel dots for a little dimension.

CCEE1747 ~ Celebrations!

Hi friends :)

It's almost the weekend  ~ woot, woot!

It's also time for a brand new challenge at the CCEE Stampers.

Joanne is our hostess this week and gave us this challenge:

As the last of our celebratory month, I would like you to make a baby card OR a wedding card……your choice. 
(If you have lots of time, you could make both….lol!!!) 

Oh Joanne, you are a hoot!

I went with a baby card using the sweet little sheep from

Gerda Steiner stamps.

This was actually my very first GS stamp set ♥

The little sheep are so versatile,

so I pulled two of them out and added them to a pink dsp themed base.

They are popped up on 3D foam and lightly colored with prismacolor markers.

The banner and heart are cut from MFT dies.

Mondays with TPB ~ Rustic Christmas ♥

Hi friends!

I hope your long weekend was filled with bliss

and wonderment!

We had a tremendous feast with family and friends,

then headed out for Black Friday shopping which was amazingly very light.

Stores weren't full at all, 

parking lots had empty spots

and we got every single thing on our lists!

And shhhhh ....

I even did a little shopping for me,

scooping up a lot of the online crafty deals.

My mailbox will be filled with deliveries this week ♥ 

Speaking of hustling and bustling,

I thought I'd show you something a little different with

The Project Bin stamps this week.

I call this my 5 minute Christmas card dash!

Christmas cards can be tedious to make,

especially if you have to make 50-75 cards.

One way to do that is to minimize your design,

and tailor it to the group of people that you'll be sending it to.

Now, I love - love - LOOOOOOVE the rustic look to Christmas!

The pine cones and garland,

red gingham bows, the fresh cut tree,

burlap and that very log-cabin-y look :)

For my brother and his family,

I wanted to incorporate exactly that.

I was going for that homespun feel to these cards. 

So here's what I did:

 Starting with Kraft cardstock, and in an assembly line fashion,

I stamped out the sentiments from Maybe Christmas using Altenew Crisp Black 

and the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform.

I used 3 of the sentiments in this wonderful set. 

I ran my snowflake die from a Recollections stamp/die set

through the cuttlebug in coordinating colors to the cards,

glued a button to each and set that aside to dry.

Meanwhile, I added strips of designer paper

 from Recollections North Pole Gazette pad,

tucking on colored cardstock for a little bit of edging.

I finished up the inside of the cards using a sentiment from Joyful Song. 

 Once they were completely dry,

I packed them up with envelopes and some baker's twine ...

ready to go!

Holiday cards don't have to be a big fuss :)

Start with beautiful stamps like those at The Project Bin,

then dash and create!

 Although we are celebrating Thanksgiving today,

today's card is a festive and whimisical Christmas card :)

That's because the CCEE Stampers post every Thursday,

and Joanne wanted us to make a 'holiday stash card",

as she shares here:

This week we are going to make a card for our holiday stash. You can make a Christmas card, a New

 Year’s card, or a winter card….. whichever you think you need the most for your stash.

I definitely need to have a few more Christmas cards in my stash.

 Because this week was absolutely bonkers busy,

I used this adorable Snoopy image that I colored last month 

and quickly assembled it into a card.

The papers are from Doodlebug and I colored it with prismacolor markers.

 

FUN FACT!

A Charlie Brown Christmas debuted in 1965 and has never missed

a year being televised on TV!

We watched it as kids faithfully each year when we lived in the US,

and now I watch it with my own children ♥

I love Fall {most of all} ♥

It's Fall!

Do you love it most of all?!

I do love this time of year ♥

It's just an absolutely beautiful season.

There is something so heart-warming about the week of Thanksgiving ~
the feeling of gratitude and togetherness and blessings abudant.

 For my card today, I am channeling

the colors of a warm autumn day when the air is crisp and cool ♥

 I've used the New Leaf stamp set, 

and the I love Fall stamp is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink from SU!

The cardstock is also SU! chocolate chip and the dsp is

from Pebbles ~ Woodland Forest collection.

 

I keep using this paper pad over and over - it's divine!

And you can see my stamps are well loved, too :)

I added an assortment of buttons and enamel dots for extra dimension

and character :)

RSG ....... Inside/Out!

Today's the day!  

The November Ready, Set, Go Challenge this month was from me :) 

 I challenged Barb, Jeanette and myself

 to make an Inside/Outside card!

Say what?!!

And inside out card is actually a pretty simple idea!

It's where the inside of the card is now the front,

and the front becomes the inside! 

Since I tend to decorate the inside of my cards a lot,

I thought it would be fun to see how we interpret switching the roles of each.

I used my new Neat and Tangled stamp set "Santa's Wonderland"

... omgosh!

This stamp set is. the. cutest!!

The Santa and winter scene on my card would normally be played out

on the front of the card but I have them tucked behind 

each of the cut out circular shapes, giving a hint of the merriment.
 

My card was actually inspired by one that I saw from GSD

~ you can see the adorable card here ♥

 In hindsight, there is too much white on the card for my liking:

learning experience ;)

CCEE1746: Joanne's Birthday flowers!

Hi friends!

I have two posts today, one including this new challenge for the CCEE Stampers in honor of our teammate's birthday today - Joanne!

This is her challenge:

 Well.....Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!  In honor of my special day,

 this week's challenge is to make a feminine birthday card with flowers. 

 To celebrate the day with me, let's do a random act of kindness.

 Call a friend who might need cheer, pay for someone's coffee, give a hug, .....

 try to make a difference.

What a wonderful birthday gift to give, Joanne!

Although today we didn't have internet service at home,

and traffic was snarled and backed up,

and I locked my keys in the car for the first time in like 10 years,

I thought about your wishes and did exactly that!

I called a friend and caught up ♥ 

And because I've packed up my craft 'cabana' preparing

for Thanksgiving and company,

it's slim pickings on what stamps are out to use!

I went with my treasured Our Daily Bread Designs

and used a lot of blue ~

because if you have seen Joanne's blog,

you'll see she loves the ocean as much as I do!

She even has a vibrant and inviting blue sea blog header :)

DDD: All about Frogs!

Hello friends!

Today's the 15th of the month, the day that the Dueling Darlings 

create and post a card based on a kit mailed to us by this month's hostess.

  For the DDDivas, that would be Suzy and

 For the DDDazzlers, the hostess is Deb :)

This month, the theme they came up with is hoppin!

like. literally.

It's all about frogs!

I was so tickled when I saw the card kit and the froggie images ♥

When my dad was first diagnosed with cancer,

his dr told him to "get something to care for"~ so he chose frogs :)

He had a tank full of little green and speckled frogs that lived in his condo

in a fabulous terrarium and he got such a kick out of them.

I always remembered what one of my very first Sunday School teachers said:

Fully Rely On God! 

That saying got us through a lot of rough spots,

as did those silly frogs :)

My card has one of everything in some fashion on it ~

from the image, the paper, the doily, a ribbon, the flowers and gems!

Your kit was fresh and fun and so very unique!

In the 11 years that we've been doing this, we've never had a frog theme! 

I usually complete the inside of my card, too, 

but I put the image and sentiment on the front  ~

the inside is just blank white cardstock.

 I've colored him with prismacolor markers

and popped up the sentiment Suzy also sent with some 3D foam.

The DDD will take the month of December off as always to be with our families

and enjoy the month of festivities ♥

Mondays with The Project Bin ~ Birthday Bonanza!

 Hi friends! 

 I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Today's post is super fun as I'm showcasing

 another way to use the stamp from The Project Bin ♥

It's always nice to personalize our birthday cards and tailor them

to a specific friend.  

But sometimes we need to have a few cards in a pinch!

Today I'll share with you how to take one stamp set

and make many merry cards!

 

I've taken several stamps from the Born Yesterday stamp set

and combined them to make a set of cheery birthday cards.

I've used several speech bubble dies to create the die cut with dsp.

One that was adhered to the white cardstock base,

I stamped out the sentiment using Momento Tuxedo ink in my

Tim Holtz Stamping Platform.

 

 I added a few enamel dots to the front to complete the look ...

and the added another sentiment to the inside of each of the cards ↓
