Funny thing, I have an elephant's memory when it comes to seeing the pictures and remembering where we were or what the kids said. I tell them funny, cute, embarrassing stories all the time of when "so and so was a baby." They LOVE it. But they also like to razz me and say things like "Mommy! Okay, so tell us about that time when we were 3 and four quarters and it was a sunny day that one time in ..... April, yes, and I had on that pink dress with polka dots and yellow stripes with a green ribbon and black shoes and I was on the left side of the east bound sidewalk near the tree that had green leaves but now it has none and we were close to Coconut Grove by the one restaurant ....." HA. HA. Hi-lar-i-ous. Keep it up, and it's Chef Boyardee for dinner!! Not hatin' on the Chef - they hate it, so that would be a horrendous fate in their eyes ;}
But back to the memories!!! I remember my lil man was always sooo dramatic when it came to wounds. Is this a boy thing?!! My girls would have half a limb hanging off and they'd keep on biking, hiking, running, jumping ..... my son sees A SCRATCH and he's practically screaming for an ambulance. My Goodness. Well, that was back then ........ now he's a 7.5 year old who only sometimes, kinda sorta, needs an ambulance depending on the amount of blood is gushing, and from whom ;)
I also decided that I'm really not able to commit to making fancy schmancy scrap pages that take me HOURS. I obsess over them until they are shadow box quality and that's just not feasible IRL :) I need to do more "get 'er done" style and I realize years from now, my babies won't mind how fabulous the scrapbooks I leave behind are - they will care about the memories and the legacy I'm leaving behind. My kids have always been so proud of me and my scrapbooking, and my daughters have said how sad it makes them not to see me scrapbook anymore. (In fact, upon seeing this, my dd12 said "You're scrapbooking?!! *huge smile!*" So I guess I will be - more often now!
Thanks for stopping by! And just a lil bit of fun news - the new Riley and Company sneak peeks start on Sunday!

Your kids will love it, this is so adorable :) It will be so much fun to go back and look at the pages and the memories. I need to get back to making some pages as well, I am very much behind. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie! Great page! Such a fun adventure to re-enter into scrapping lol! I have never scrapped, I just figured I would do it when my girls move away and I am sad! I can scrap all the good memories to make me feel better!

I have gotten away from it too and is on my to do list this year! My DH's work is having a scrap night...I don't know any of them, but just might go so I can get stuff done!!
ReplyDeleteYour page is sweet, ouchie or not! But, I think it happened on the south side of the westbound lane....lmbo!
LOOOOVE THIS!!! I loved reading it, thinking of your beautiful smile and the wonderful memories of your little man. They grow so fast! My little man was probably more dramatic than yours... he would have still been screaming.... days later ;) HAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteSending lots of hugs and smiles and cant wait to see more scrap pages from your heart!!!
Heather
If he gets to be too much, send him my way! Jeez, he is cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on working toward your goals. Your kids will love the pages even more as the get older....with all of their mom's detailed memories!
Wow, those big blue eyes will steal your heart in an instant. Like that you used the blue of his eyes for your background color. Cute page.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you created that in 15 minutes?? seriously? wow!
ReplyDeleteI take WAY too long!!! (
Very cute, but your poor little boy... He looks surprised that he has a bandaid on his knee.
:(
this is aweosme, and he is so darn cute!!!!!! Poor little thing, I can see he almost lost a leg LOL, keep scraping, you rock at it!!
ReplyDeleteROTFL!! Too funny, all of it! Just like our house back in the day!! Love your post and love the page! You're right - adopt a "Get r Done" philosophy and you'll be so happy with yourself! Great page, and don't his eyes just melt your heart?! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYep I'm ROTFL... Thanks for starting my day with your post full of sunshine! We have 25 inches of snow in just 2 days.... Love your sunshine! Your SB page is just adorable and your cute little boy... oh my!
ReplyDeleteVery cute LO, Kel! And I have to say, I have an 8yo male who is the same way!! Not a peep out of him, until he sees the blood! And it can be just a drop, mind you!
ReplyDeleteYou're motivating me, dear friend. Got lots of this to do, too. Keep posting your lovable creations and maybe I'll get in gear myself....just so I can 'keep up with' you! =)
Have a blessed day!
awe poor Little guy!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the page though!!
We added The first outchie to our collection on monday!! Love your page!!
Great Page Kelly--way to go on starting on your goals for this month.
ReplyDeleteThat guy is sure a cutie!
Love your scrapbook page, and that is one adorable little guy. :0)
ReplyDeleteKelly, I love this scrapbook page, so cute! And that close up picture of your little man sure shows his gorgeous blue eyes!
ReplyDeleteTruthfully, no, I don't think that is a boy thing. LOL! My experience (though I'm not talking about my 3 kids) is that girls scream and holler and think they are dying at the slightest sight of blood... and boys are rough and tough and don't care. That being said, my own DD doesn't fit my description, so what is up with that??? LOL!
Great page! It's always fun when you get started telling all the stories. Our kids love that!
ReplyDeleteLove your scrap book page - really like the ric-rack and buttons on here - and such bright colors!
ReplyDeleteKelly, your son is absolutely dazzling! Notice I didn't say precious since I don't think a 7 year old boy would want to be labeled that! LOL! Love his beautiful blue eyes! Great photos and something to always treasure.
Lynn
Love this page! Great colors and it is so comforting to know that your little guy made it thru. Looks like it was touch and go there for a bit!!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute Kel! I absolutely agree with you on "quit with all the frills and just scrapbook"! I'm doing that too. I gotta get it all done, before I'm too old to remember what we were doing in some of our pics LOL!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a cutie! I love how he has his leg propped up! So cute! :)
YAY, Kelly!!! You scrapped!! This page is just adorable and how could you not love those beautiful eyes?!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the less is more on scrapbooking. To me, the pictures and the story should be the main attraction; the rest is just pretty fluff! LOL at the elephant's memory! My problem is I can usually remember what was happening or what I was thinking, but the date, and even worse, the year often escape me... So glad you are scrapping again! Maybe we can motivate each other!!
Love how the band-aid and layout coordinate. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteADORABLE!!! and so true... guys are like that. I can be dying but still have to take care of the house and them... my husband has a flew and he cannot get out of bed ;) LOL. Who are the tough ones right???? LOL. Great pictures and scrapbook page!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Kelly...What a handsome little man he is...just adorable and the page is awesome...great job and glad to see you are getting back to your scrapbooking...(I know you love doing it).♥
ReplyDeleteI love this page! It's perfect, I think we will see a return to simple pages, because who has the time to stress over complicated pages? Just 'slap and scrap' as my dear friend Kathy does. Her scrapbooks are the best and she just 'throws' them together. Way to go Kelly!!!
ReplyDeleteOk-I am with you-hereby making a commitment to scrapbook... Great page, cute memory!
