Long lost blogger ~ back with a S2G Sketch!

Blessings to all my blog reading friends!  I have been a bit medically preoccupied and many appts have kept me from crafting but PTL, all is well and good news has been delivered all around!   As Dale Rogers said ......

"Every day we live is a priceless gift of God, loaded with possibilities to learn something new, to gain fresh insights."

And I'm excited to finally be able to get online after planning to post last night after my dd15's college fair and kaboom!  We had a 8 hour power outage!  We heard the blast of the transformer and suddenly the Santi house was very, very dark .... lol.   Living by candlelight was a bit exciting but gave me terrible flashbacks of our 2.5 months without power after Hurricane Andrew blew Homestead off the map!  :(

S2G brings you a Challenge with a twist this week!  Use Black and White and this sketch, which will be back tomorrow since I'm a day early!

And my very simple card to go along with the sketch using papers from SU! Halloween collection and this adorable image called "Hallo-scream" - sassy lil kitty!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to resume my blogging rounds and visiting your creations super soon!
Blessings!

Sensational Saturdays with SCH - and a sketch!

And a very good morning to you!  I hope your weekend is full of wonderful plans or relaxing and unwinding!
We will be doing a little of both ;)
Today I bring you a card using Sugar Creek Hollow digi called "Swirley Tree"
which is just as lovely as can be with it's flourishes and flowing branches.
I had this lovely DSP from MME called "Bella Blvd" and it looked like such a wonderful match, keeping formation of the swirls.  I followed the sketch with an added element to remind us that indeed, Life with you is sweet!
For the border, I used some of the delish Country Crinkle Ribbon from SCH!

Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have made for you using this sketch!

"Witching" you a Spook-tacular Day!

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with a Buttons & Bows post for you - last week I desperately stalked my mailman, lol, and this week I bring you both cards created with these adorable handmade buttons from Kristy at Buttons & Bows!

First up, we have the Witches hat card!  I drew a witches hat onto some paper and traced it out to the cardstock and made it so it opens up into a card to write in.   I used the witches hat set - which includes a hat, purple and orange buttons - soooo sooo cute these are and very versatile!

Next I have my creep-a-licious spider that was made using my Cuttlebug and nesties and a corner punch!
He's truly delightful and not too spooky - he was hanging on the witches hat this morning, lol.  This set is the Googly eyes set and just as fun as can be with the two googlie eyes that looks like me before my coffee .... bwahahahaha!  It also brings a red and black button that will soon make their debute in another card I'm working on ;)   Both sets are now available in Kristy's ebay store!

Shirley's2Girls digis are Spook-tacular!

Hi everyone!
What an exciting post for me to make - my first post as a Guest Designer for Shirleys2girls digital stamps!   S2G was one of the very first acrylic stamps that I bought after the Stampin' Up bug bit ~  It was this adorable mermaid acrylic stamp that helped get me hooked :)
So I was extremely delighted to be asked to be a GDT and this entire month is going to be SPOOK-TACULAR!

Here is my card for you today :)

And there is a wonderful challenge blog as well ~ take a peek!

Forgive my short post this late evening - we've have had an
topsy turvy kind of day ~ I'll be back tomorrow!
Blessings!

Angel Cake wishes :)

Do you ever wish you had an angel?  A fairy?  or a fairy Godmother?!

The other day my son had a playdate - one of his 6 year old  little classmates from school came over to play.  We're a big family and it takes me forever to keep up our clean home and work hard to keep it that way (messes make me crazy!)  but there are times I wish I could just craft all day ;)
Well, my son's little friend walked into the front door and stopped and said "WOW, your house is pretty!  And I smell ...... (he takes a big deep inhale) ... something .... OH, the cleaning ladies were just at your house!  That's what mine smells like when mommy calls those ladies!"
And then they ran off to play ......
LOLOL!
Cleaning ladies?
Only if my angel fairy brings me one!  ;)
(and it was just lemon scented pine-sol, btw!)

But I do have this gorgeous angel cakes digi for you!
Isn't she the sweetest!
She's in the newest digi line called "Angel Cakes" @ FBD store ~
this is Angel Cake Chilly Day.  I chose her becuase we have been
so blessed to have the most gorgeous Fall like weather today - breezy, brisk air, a slight little nip that I actually had to throw on a cardigan - NIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!

For the challenges:  Flutter By Wednesdays:  Angels/Fairies
The Pink Elephant:  Childhood

I also used the current Color Combinations Challenge #291 at Splitcoaststampers ~
Look at these scrumptious colors to play along with!
Saffron, Tangerine and Razzleberry!

For this card, I used Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron and Pumpkin Spice from GKD, Autumn dsp from SU! and labels 14 ~ it's simple but I'm hoping the image will stand out better that way as it's such a terrific image to color and use for many occasions!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings!

Have yourself ......

a Merry Little Christmas ...... :)   Only 80 more sleeps 'til it's Christmas!!! :)

Deedee's Digis has been very busy introducing new images for the holidays!  From Autumn to Christmas, there is something for everyone :)  Check it out in the shop!   October is also the month for Cancer awareness and there is a new digi available to celebrate that awareness called "Hopeful Heart"  , which is also free with your purchase of $10.00 in digi stamps.

This week over at the Challenge Blog, there is a sketch challenge for you to try!

And a card for you, using Beary Merry Christmas!

The sentiment is from the set: Wish Big!
One of my daughters was born just days before Christmas (she was due on Cmas day!)
One year Santa told her as she hopped up onto his lap and said 'It's my birthday!"
and her told her "Wish reallllllly hard!"  It's been a little joke around here since then, 11-ish years ago!

I wish you a happy day today!
   Blessings :)

It's Kit-Cat Sunday .... bring on the books!

Good morning!  And yikes - anyone else having major blogger issues?  If you did and fixed it, please let me know!

How exciting that it's the Kit-Cats returning with another post!  We are sadly at 5 kittens now and are back after taking a small hiatus for the summer!  And wha'ts even more fun - it's our One Year Anniversary of Kit-Catting together! :)  (I have a little something special in the works for them when it's my month to host, tee hee!  Stay tuned!)

This month's hostess was the the super amazing Jeanette!  She sent us this darling kit to work with images from Stampingbella - Bettty and Spencer.   Spencer the Bookworm really spoke to me since my son has started reading small chapter books recently :)  The papers were absolutely stunning - Bo Bunny's Learning Curve and I had the hardest time chosing which side to use!  But I think one of my favorite parts was the vintage dictionary pages ~ although Jeanette suggested we line the bird cages, ROFL, I made homemade flowers :)   This kit was so full of fun elements and embellishments to use, it was hard to pick and chose so a second card is definitely in the waiting.

And here's Spencer!

Oh I had so much fun with this kit and setting Spencer up on a pile of books!

Now hop on over and see what the other kittens have crafted for you this morning!

And have a most blessed Sunday!

One Martini .......... and I'm on the floor ;)

ROFL - seriously ..... one glass of wine does it for me!  One Martini?  You'll find me on the floor for sure!

For this month's SOTC card, our fabulously funny and talented hostess, Karen, asked us to create a card with humor.  So Addy tude here has never seen ink in the year+ that I've owned her, so it was time for her to play :)

My card is pretty simple ~ I kept going over and over the layout, the papers, the flowers - adding some, taking them back off ...... and my daughter convinced me that the ones I'd added to the top were "too much, too busy and you covered up the pretty paper!"  Alas, here were are with Addy 'tude and her 'tinis, rofl!

Blessings!

Sketchy Wednesday with Fresh Brewed Designs!

Happy rainy Wednesday from Miami! Alhough it's early Tuesday night here, I'm posting early ~ outside my dining room window I"m looking at some pretty dark skies, howling winds, the pool water is spilling over and the kids toys are blowing all over the yard!  We are expecting torrential rains tonight from a tropical storm watch, I believe, and they made an annoucement that the schools will possibly be closed ........... I heard a huge "YAY!!!!!!!" from my quad, lolol!  (which is a blessing, for driving in the rain for me is sheer terror!)

So this week at the FBD Challenge blog, there's a sketch for you to try!

Here it is:

My card for you today is using the beautifully designed "give thanks pumpkin" available here in the store.  Using papers from the K & Co Fall Harvest collection and felt flowers, a gift from a dear friend {*muah, hugs!*}, I created this Autumn pumpkin card.   I left off the sentiment though it calls for one on the sketch as lucky me, the pumpkin already says "give thanks" and that speaks volumns :)

We'd love for you to stop by and play along in the challenge!  Click HERE! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings,

Rules of 3's -- and exciting news to share! :)

Howdy everyone!  I'm so excited to share that when I hopped online to read a few emails, one of the ones I read was the announcement from Kristy at Kuttin Kards that I have made her first DT for Buttons and Bows!  I am super excited as her talent is absolutely amazing - and if you run over to her blog, you'll see one scrumptious donut recipe with photos to match - DELISH!   Buttons have ALWAYS been one of my favorite embelllies to use on my card making -- and hers are mind boggling amazing in creativity and craftsmanship.  Take a peek!

And I have a card for you!  I have been meaning to play along in the Cowgirl UP blog challenges since my sweet friend April made the DT, alas, time has been my adversary!  But I'm here this week!  There is a rule of 3's this week, using 3 different designer papers and 3 different flowers.  The minute I saw this darling digi stamp called "Lil Bit", I had to have her - she reminded me somewhat of a little Holly Hobby which I loved as a little girl!!  I colored her with my prismas and love the vibrant scene of flowers and fence she is standing next to (oh, not the way I colored her, rofl!  the way it was drawn, hee hee!)  I continued the color palette by adding some various flowers from prima and beyond in colors of tan, brown, vanilla, olive and harvest gold - I just mixed and matched them to size and added, of course, a button in the middle with some embroidery floss to anchor it :)  I'm way overdue for sending a special friend a card and I hope this one will do!

Entered into the following challenges:
Tuesdaytaggers - anything Goes

Blessings to you this Monday -- fortunately for me I am not volunteering anywhere today and rescheduled my "coffee time" with my super fab mom friend and plan to rest and catch up on my tornado strewn house!

Hugs!

Lord of the Harvest ....

It's Sensational Saturday at SCH!  Today's post from the DT is using the Ask the Lord of the Harvest digi, available here in the store and just in time for Fall!

This beautiful vintage tag has a lovely christian verse on it with some darling primitive pumpkins
and scrollwork on the edging of the digi.  Just beautiful!

For my card, I actually made an invite but unsure yet what it will be an invite for - what a beautiful place setting for Thanksgiving, or a name card or invitation to stop by for dinner :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have created for you to see!

Happy Friday! How exciting that you were able to stop by today!  It's a Birthday blog hop in honor our DT member, Darsie, who is celebrating a milestone 5-0 birthday today!

Happy 5o years young, Darsie! :)

Today our dear design team sister Darsie Bruno is celebrating her GOLDEN birthday -- that's right -- the big 5-0! Such a momentous occasion calls for a party, don't you think? So the Deedee's Digis design team is throwing her one -- a Golden Birthday Blog Hop -- and we invite you to be part of the fun!!! Here's how you can join the party:

Email me the code to Deedee at amiste@sonic.net and she'll send you the new "Happy Birthday to Ewe" digi:

Once you've collected your party favor, please stop by the birthday girl's blog and leave her some love. On Monday Darsie will choose one random winner from among her well-wishers who will receive a GOLDEN grand prize -- a $50 credit to spend at our store!

Alright people, let's get to partying!  For the hop, you should have arrived from Jerusha's wonderful blog.  If not, start from the beginning!

My card for you is part of a gift set I made :)   The card is a birthday card w/ a beary wonderful birthday gift using  the Bear-y Merry Christmas set!  It's that versatile - this set can be used for the holidays and beyond.  I made a box set to match that is filled with paper flowers.

A Mother's Prayer ......

Did you watch Glee tonight?   I did, I did!  I have been waiting for weeks for the premiere tonight and the girls and I sat with eyes glued to the tv and it did not disappoint!  Wow .....amazing talent, energy and voices!

It's been such a busy couple of weeks here with nooooooo chance of slowing down any time soon, so I was happy to have a chance to make this sweet little card, just because :)   I saw this poem online a little while back and clicked it into my faves ~ and while searching my files I stumbled across it again.  Isn't life funny that way? :)

A MOTHER'S PRAYER
Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called me to be a mom--
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with wooden blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes
And all the things that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read--
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see then, in my small one's face,
That you have blessed me all the while --
And I stoop to kiss that precious smile!
{Author unknown}

To go along with this poem, I made my card using a Deedee's Digi called "Bear Hugs" along with the matching sentiment.  These bears just get cuter and cuter to use! There is such a wonderful variety and did you know that there is a section of digis for just $1.00 in the shop?  Take a peek!  And don't forget the challenge going on right now to use green, orange and yellow on your card and link it up to the challenge blog :)

One of the sweetest rewards of being mommy is that even when the days are long, car commutes are long and piles of laundry and the "to do" is forever high and long, there is nothing greater than a sweet little smile and a loving hug to bring back that feeling of peace and unconditional love :)  I'm so blessed, truly!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Off to bed for me!

Hugs 'n Blessings!
~Kelly
