Riley and Co - new release .. FLAWSOME! ♥

Hi friends!

Remember getting the Sunday paper for
the wonderful colorful layout with all the cartoons?!
We used to race for the paper just to read all the Sunday funnies :)
Today, I'll bring you the last of my Riley new stamp release cards
and we can have some laughs on Saturday *grin*

And it's always fun to laugh!
My mom said that she always knew my brother and I
 were 'up to no good'.
We were thick as thieves and very close,
always laughing and getting into mischief,
never stopping long enough to do anything that required sitting still.
So, if there was silence .........
it usually meant we were up to no good - LOL!

We liked adventure ..and laughing!
We live countries apart now, but thankfully,
and one thing we are still doing - laughing!

First up, I've used Chocoholic Riley - oh, how I love him!
If I were a moose, yes, this is who'd I be!
Probably with a Starbucks in the other hand :)
For the sentiment, I used the 6 million dollars stamp.

Next up,

 You.  Are.  Flawsome!
Yes, you are!

That's Awesome AND Flawless!
I've paired music Riley with the Flawsome stamp just released.
I hope today brings you smiles -
and that you can pass those on!

For more card inspiration, shopping for these stamps and more,
please check out the new releases and the shop!
And head over to the Design Team blog for some amazing
and eye catching card samples!

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

DDD: Valentines ♥

Hi friends!

I can't believe it's that time of year where we're seeing hearts
and flowers and chocolates e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.

Like for real ....
I'm still making Christmas cards! :/

What can I say - December was a blur for me.
I musta blinked ....... and missed it,
 'cause here we are!

Valentines ♥

Today is the premiere card kit post for the DDD for 2017!
So exciting!
In case you're one of my newer readers,
the DDD = Dueling Darling Divas/Dazzlers, depending on the team :)
It's a group that I - literally - dreamt about one night,
jumped out of bed and wrote down the idea,
propositioned some besties and voila - here we are, YEARS later!
The hostesses of both opposing teams chose a similiar theme,
different kits - and on the 15th of every month, we "duel!"

These. ladies.  are.  love :)

Big thanks to Tami and TerryL for being the hostesses this month!
Tami - team Divas - send us this LOVE-ly Valentine's themed kit,
complete with Riley the Moose!
You all know that I'm no stranger to this cutie,
and it's always fun to use Riley in a card,
especially with the beautiful papers and embellishments Tami sent ♥

And the inside:

This year, the DDD has grown with new members and returning regulars,
so a lot of inspiration using two different card kits, one theme!
You can check out both the Divas and the Dazzlers Valentine's cards, too -
the links to their blogs and/or gallery on SCS is on my sidebar :)
Thanks for stopping by today!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

I'm the Designer Highlight for Riley and Co stamps! ♥

Hi friends!

I hope and pray you all had a wonderful Christmas!
We sure did - surrounded by my husband and our 4 beautiful children all home at the same time (this, my friends, is a very difficult feat!) as well as the lovely young men our two oldest daughters are dating.  We had full bellies AND full hearts! ♥

Today is the day of a featured designer on the Riley and Company blog ...
and today the designer is me! :)
Thank you, Tanya, for the wonderful spotlight opportunity and
to our fearless DT coordinator, Angii - who works tirelessly behind the scenes ♥

So, what did I make today?
A herd of moose!

My son is a voracious reader (just like his mommy!) and plows through books faster than I can buy them or stack them up at the library!
He was my inspiration for thinking up this project -
bookmarks showcasing the literary classics.

Riley and Company stamps has SO MANY different storybook characters!
I chose the ones he was most familiar with or loves these particular books,
and 'snuck' a few girl ones in there, too.

My Riley bookmarks were inspired by such characters as:
Wheat Riley (Huckleberry Finn)
Sophie O'Hara (Gone with the Wind)
Old World Riley (Rip Van Winkle),
Peter Pan Riley and Captain Hook Riley (Adventures of Peter Pan),
 Detective Riley  (Sherlock Holmes),
Mad Hatter Riley (Alice in Wonderland)
and Riley Pottermoose (Harry Potter)

Here is what I made and how I made it:
  • First, I started with a container of jumbo clips found at a local off brand store.
  • Next, I stamped out the Riley and Sophie stamps onto #110 heavy weight white cardstock (this step is important - they need to be durable and stand up.)
  • I ran those through the cuttlebug with a simple circle die, then used the coordinating scallop die in different colors of cardstock in the same fashion.
  • I colored all the Riley and Sophie stamps with my prismacolor markers, then joined them with adhesive and added some enamel dots.
  • I glued the colored cardstock (back of the circles) to the jumbo clips.  I used Aleene's tacky glue and let it dry overnight (24 hours = best!)
  • Last, I decorated simply and then added a tag with some baker's twine with the "Life is a Fairy Tale" stamp.
Now, whenever my son needs a bookmark, he can take one out of the can
and mark his page or share one with a friend,
like this quick example ↓

For more inspiring projects, the Riley and Co stamps blog
has amazing creations,
including the new Mushroom Lane stamps!
You can also follow along on Facebook where you'll not only see more
inspirational creations, including the monthly stamp club kit,
but upcoming events and blog hop information - check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

New Stamps! Riley and Company new stamp release! :)

Hi everyone!
It's dog-gone hot out there, isn't it?! :)
The Riley and Company new stamp release continues on this week -
from Monday until Friday, you'll be treated to all the new stamps and sentiments.

First up, introducing Tucker the pup!  He is absolutely darling.
I fell instantly in love with Tucker!
I created a dog house with cardstock, colored and fussy cut Tucker and 3d foam popped him up onto the front of the card.  This was super fun to make!

He's also joined by one of the new Riley and Company stamps friends,
Felix the cat!  Felix is as quite mischievous!
The first stamp shows Felix with his balloon but there is also a Felix standing alone, which I've paired with another
new release funnybones stamp :)

I'll be back in a bit with more fun posts showing you even more stamp, dies, and inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Happy Friday!
I hope you are gearing up for a wonderful holiday weekend :)
I had a little time to get inky this week,
catching up on both DT cards and cards just for pun - I mean, FUN!
Like this one!

I was channeling the upcoming 4th of July and reaching for more
red, white and blues ......
a wonderful color combination that speaks to my heart
and for who I am as a child growing up in a military family! ♥

For my card today, I've used Bouncy Ball Riley - LOVE HIM!!!
He's definitely one of my top faves of all my Riley stamps!
I've paired with the hilarious FunnyBones stamp line stamp
"Once in awhile" sentiment, added a little strip of dsp
and a trio of sequins ♥

Let's Travel!

 Hi friends!

It's time for another exciting challenge at The Ink Spot
and this week's theme is: Travel!

For my card today, I'm channeling my little guy who just left for
an 8 day Boy Scout adventure camp in Georgia :)
He's only 11, and it was a BIG STEP for us to let him go,
but he was going out of his mind with excitement for this trip!
Mommy needed to be a little brave, LOL :)
We've gotten word that he is having the time of his life,
as we knew he would ♥
From the merit badges and classes he's taking,
and the fun 'down time' with hiking, swimming, boating, etc - he's in his glory!

I had him in mind as I made this two part traveling card,
starting on the front outside and finishing on the inside ♥
There is a total of 4 Riley and Company stamps on this card!

The front of the card uses Hiking Riley
and the "I am" from the Inspirations sentiment - which is a wonderful way to mix and match your FunnyBones and Inspirations stamps!
Tbe inside features the brave sentiment stamp ~
along with Campfire Riley stamped and colored :)

To see what the rest of the DT created this week with the travel theme,
stop by The Ink Spot blog!

And don't forget to check out the monthly club kits!
But wait - there's more!
Each Wednesday is a "Wacky Wednesday" flash sale -
and Friday Favorites!
So many ways to save, stamp and get inky!! :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their summer!
I'll be home stamping - all week! :)

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Cards for the guys :)

Good Morning!

Today's card is showing the masculine side of card making
for the new challenge at The Ink Spot.
With only 39 days until Father's Day,
and just a handful more until summer,
I thought I'd created a card for the grill masters!

Dh used to do a lot of grilling back in the day,
now it seems like the kids (and their friends) have taken it over
and do a really good job :)

And there is nothing better than fresh veggies on the grill!
Yum!

You can see more masculine cards from the DT
by visiting the blog at The Ink Spot,
as well as see all 6 stamp stores in one convenient place!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

I'm going to the Mall!

Hi friends!
It's official - I'm another year older!
Yesterday was the culmination of a wonderful week long
Spring Break/Birthday-a-thon ♥
The kids and I were out daily having fun, enjoying the outdoors,
being together, not being in school!
We are taking full advantage of our Year of Adventure :)

Glorious it was ~
getting older, not so much!
This is my last year in the 40s :(
They say you are only as old as you feel ....
so that makes me about 101!

*wink!*

There's a new challenge at The Ink Spot,
hosted by Kendra, to create a humorous card in honor of April Fools Day.
With the Funny Bones stamp line, that's easy to do.
These stamps simply crack me up!
I inked/colored up Car Riley
and the "I'm Bored" Funny Bones
to make my funny, cheeky card!

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards
for some side-splittin', hilarious creative ideas :)
You can find them here or on my sidebar.
Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

The Ink Spot - NonTraditional Valentine's Day cards ♥

Hi everyone!
It's time for The Ink Spot Challenge team to
create a card with Joy's fun theme:
Non-traditional Valentines!

Super cute!
and, that's actually one of my favorite themes in card-making ...
off the cuff colors during holidays that are normally this or that :)
How about BlueOrange Teal!
(Nope, not channeling the Broncos for a win - LOL!
I don't even watch football!)

And the card inside:

Stamping Riley is getting ready to send some love!
I inked up Riley and colored him with prismacolor markers,
adding him to a colorful palette of blues and orange ..
and that tiny little red doodle heart just happened to be on the paper
I was cutting and thought it just had to stay! :)

You can check out what the rest of the Design Team
has made using non-traditional Valentine's Day looks
by checking out the blog/links here

I'll enter this into:  As You like it:  Layers

Animal Antics! :)

Happy Tuesday! :)

We just rolled in late yesterday from a truly memorable camping trip ...
Oh the stories I will share with you :)
It was so much fun, educational, entertaining, somewhat scary!
Those chatty, excited little boys had us up at the crack of dawn every morning,
bustling with energy and this weary old lady had to scramble to keep up!
They went from dawn to well after campfires each night ...
Luckily, one of my besties in the den brought along her dad's 40+ year old
camping percolator from 'back in the day' -
the kids got a history "what is THAT?!" lesson but GLORIOUS coffee for us!
We had such an amazing time, and I'll be posting pictures this week :)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch .......... hee hee!
It's time for a new challenge at The Ink Spot!
You may recall from this post that Riley and Company now has a new home,
nestled in with 5 other stamp companies all in one place!
I was the hostess this week and chose Animal Antics as the inspiration,
inking up Balloon Riley and the sentiment "make today
for this cheerful, pick me up card.

Here is the front:

And the inside of my card:

Time to tackle a mountain of laundry, visit my babies (both human and furry!),
AND stop by to see you all to see what crafty things you've been up to!

If you'd like to take a peek at the rest of The Ink Spot DT inspiration,
you can find the ladies here on the blog -
some super talent has joined our team and we're growing by leaps and bounds ~
new DT members, new stamp lines, new inspiration!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Purr-fect Friend! ♥

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at Riley and Company and Cornish Heritage Farms!
You may have already heard the BIG news that in this new year,
many wonderful changes are happening.
Tanya Kostynuk, owner extraordinaire of Riley and Company and CHF,

have had two different Design Teams.
Now, the two Teams have been combined in one happy bunch!

And ... this blog will be our new home!

And as you can see on the blog, there are 6 stamp stores  - all in one place!  WOW!

Today is the first challenge for the combined DT, and it's brought to us by Heather.
She challenged us this week to create a card using two stamps:
One from the Riley and Company line and one from Cornish Heritage Farms.

You may remember Burt from this post when he debuted in our new release,
so I had to ink him up again! Smiling Burt is from Riley and Co,
(since it was a purr-fect match) :)

I left the inside of this one blank for a paw-sitive message later!

Please check out the new stampin' ground The Ink Spot,
as well as what the new DT has created this week!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

*Big MOOSE - I mean, NEWS!*

2016 is bringing exciting changes to Riley & Company!

As of January 1st,  "Head Moose" Tanya, owner of Riley & Company, home of the Funny Bones, Inspirations and Riley the Moose stamp lines, will be moving to a new umbrella site called The Ink Spot.

But wait! There's more! :)
The Ink Spot home will also be home the Cornish Heritage Farms
line of stamps, including the popolar Thomas Kinkade series
. PLUS, a fabulous new addition to the line up will be
the Prickly Pear Rubber Stamps.
The Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps store will be back up on January 1st
(and accepting orders), but until then you can check out the Facebook Page (don’t forget to like it!!) and the Blog.

With this change, the Riley & Company blog has been transformed into a terrific comprehensive site that includes samples for all of our lines; Riley & Company, Funny Bones, Inspirations, Cornish Heritage Farms, Thomas Kincade
It’s still a work in progress, but please go take a look.

Not only will you find tutorials on how to color Riley and how to color
Thomas Kinkade, you will be able to check out why Prickley Pear is so innovative, find the products that work best with the Inspirations line and learn about digital images too.
There will be TONS of card samples, challenges, games and more.
All on one great stamping site!

Also being introduced on The Ink Spot this year is a new Stampers Club kit.
This kit will contain 7 stamps (comprised of a combination of Funny Bones, Inspirations and Riley), 4 collector design cards with photos and instructions and an exclusive Tickle My Funny Bones monthly button.

Subscribers will find the Tickle My Funny Bones Stamp Kit automatically ships out on the 15th of every month. You can click this link to sign up. Time is running out to sign up for the very first kit. Note, shipping outside of the USA will have additional shipping fees.

Club Members will be privy to a super secret Facebook page where they can find more designs to make with stamps in the kit. Members can also interact with the Design Team and share ideas with each other.

The Tickle My Funny Bone button that comes with each kit can be used in special random contests to win free product (or perhaps discounts??). The buttons will never be for sale and only Club Members can get them.

Kits are sold by subscription only and a minimum of three months is required. Your credit card or Paypal account will be charged when you sign up and then every 30 days afterward. Customers are responsible for cancelling after three months, if desired (but why would you want to?). Every 12 months of membership, you will receive a FREE special thank you kit.

So, head on over to The Ink Spot and take a look around!. Then, swing by the Card Club site and make sure you’re signed up for the fun.

Here's to an incredible, fun 2016!
