Shark Week! Underwater friends :)

Happy Shark Week 2026!

This is our favorite time of year for shark watch! 

 My son inspired our love of shark week YEARS ago

 and we are still going strong :)

I created a card for the first Lawn Fawn IG card club

hosted by my sweet friend, Melissa.

Of alllllll my lawn fawn stamps, dies + supplies,

I knew I wanted to use Duh-Nuh and You Are Sublime 

to create a fun scene.

        I started with ink blending in 3 blue colors for an ocean scene

and made a ocean shelf/sandbar by popping up the bottom.

And the sharks and friends were colored with my Olomarkers.

National Bake and Decorate Month!

 

Hi sweet friends!

September has a few holidays you may know,

but it also has a few that might be new to you!

Like National Bake and Decorate month :)

This card was so much fun to bake make!

I used my @lawnfawn stamps Bake with Love and  

the mice from A Creature Was Stirring

to create a fun baking scene.

My daughter is the baker in the family and self taught ...

this girl needs to open a bakery!

I thought I'd send her this cute card with a hint

not to forget her homemade pecan pie when she visits at Thanksgiving

Christmas in July!

 Hi friends!

I have a quick post today!

 I'm juggling cards, social media, work and packing luggages! Whew!

What's more fun that Christmas?

Christmas in July!

Because it means we get the holidays TWICE!

Here's a card I made for a super duper fun IG hop with crafty friends!

The theme was ornaments ............

as you can see, I follow directions REAL GOOD! :)

(In my defense, there ARE ornaments on the card - LOL!)

I used the adorable Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp

Stamptember set with a watercolor background.

I love these adorable little sloths.

I learned last week that my little granddaughter is starting

a new preschool and they have adopted a sloth from Australia!

They will watch it on the monitor and receive mail from the center.

So cuuuuute!

CCEE2221 ~ Country Cookin' :)

 

Hey y'all!

Mighty nice to see ya today!

We're cooking up something country today at the 

CCEE Stampers blog!

Our sweet hostess, Lynn, is starting us off with the June challenges

and I'm sure it will be a fun month!

This is what she says:

 In the USA, June has been declared country cooking month. I am therefore asking the CCEE Stampers to create cards which feature fabulous bounty from the garden in the form of fruits or vegetables that you love to prepare and serve your family during the hot months of summer.

I LOVE vegetables!

I decided to create a card with my favorites: carrots :)

I grabbed a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets

and Lawn Fawn designer paper

and created this cute card ~ lots of sharing and lots of carrots!

I do not have a green thumb for gardening or harvesting or canning

but I am a self taught pretty good cook :)

Many friends and family around our table will attest to that

and based on how many 'repeat visitors' I get that lick their plates clean,

I'm guessing it must be true!

So win/win - LOL!

CCEE2150 ~ Christmas Around The World!

 

Hi friends!

            It's the last card of 2021 for the CCEE Stampers but not to worry!

We will be back in 2022 with new challenges each week.

We hope you've had as much fun as we have had all year long

with all of the unique and fun challenges!

 Lynn brings us our last challenge of the year and she says: 

                             Last week we celebrated traditions within our families.

                                                Today's challenge might involve a bit of research on your part.

I would like for all those who are taking part in this challenge 

to select a country or culture other than their own

                                                      and feature on the front of their cards a unique element 

                                                 or tradition from that country  or culture's holiday celebrations!

My card represents:  Austria!

For my card today, we're heading to Austria!

  Since I grew up there as a child, most of my memories of Santa, 

the Christmas tree, holiday magic and more are centered 

around our home in many cities. 

 So, we're heading to Europe! 

 I have so many wonderful childhood memories of going to 

Christmas markets called Christkindlmärkte.  

These outdoor Christmas markets were held in front of town hall

 in the town center or large squares. 

 They are so romantic and beautiful,

 lit up in the night sky and when it's snowing, it's just enchanting to behold!  

Fun fact:  I always told my husband if we were to ever 'strike it rich',

I'm retiring us to a small swiss chalet where I can write and finish my book :)

RSG ~ Lenten season begins!

 

Hi friends! 

Happy Lenten season if you observe! :)

I've made a deeply personal decision to focus on 

being formed by God's mercy and grace

and I've already seeing it work - He is good!

I'll be back to blogging and visiting regularly now as

I had to take a step back (or 5) and refocus

my physical and spiritual energy and get back to my present moment :)

But I'm here!

Today's card is for a card challenge I call Ready, Set, Go!

It's a card challenge where Barb, Jeanette and I 

set a theme for each other with a challenge that's e.x.t.r.e.m.e!

Barb is up this month and this is her February challenge:

 

Our posting date is February 17^th, the first day of lent in 2021 and National RAK Day.  During Lent, many people traditionally give up items—chocolate, coffee, alcohol, etc.  Me—I kiddingly say I give up Lobster and drinking water from the outside water spigot-ha!  So, for our challenge in February, you need to “give up” an item you almost always use or have on a card.  Do you usually color with Copics—not this month.  How about patterned paper for a background layer—not this time.  So—you need to give up something on your card.  Then, you are being asked to send  your card as a RAK—a card to a random person in your life who would not be expecting it.   Please pick someone who has not gotten a card from you in the past that is deserving of happy mail.  Maybe a not-so-close-to-you family member from afar you are thinking of.  Or, an acquaintance on SCS or another forum that comment on your cards often and you happen to have their address.  Put a smile on the face of someone you do not know very well.  Make the RAK count!  Ready. Set?  Go!

 

Because I'm just getting back into making cards,

 I took the easy way out and didn't color with my copics

 which I almost always use to color. 

 There are no markers on this one anywhere!

I used my watercolor brush markers and blended colors in a palette

 

for teal, dark blue, purple.

Using my Fluttering Friends stamp set from MFT Stamps,

I stamped directly onto the dried watercolor panels and die cut them.

The Spiffy Speckles paper is from Lawn Fawn and I used

my Lawn Fawn stiched rectangle dies and kept it pretty clean/simple!

Last, I added the matching sentiment from the set.

And that's my card!
