CCEE1939: World Dream Day!

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers challenge blog
and our hostess, Frances, has another fun one:
 World Dream Day!

Frances shared:
The 25th September was World Dream Day.
So for our challenge this week create a card
 with someone/something sleeping/dreaming.

That sounds so nice!
(since dreaming usually involves good sleep or a good nap!)

For my card today, I've used 2 different stamps.
The sweet bear is from Stamping Bella's Buddy Bears stamp set.
I used my scan 'n cut to cut the bear and colored him with copics
and popped it up on 3d foam dots from Scrapbook Adhesives 3M.
For the background, I used a tiny scrap of dsp that was on my desk
and ran it through the die cut machine with a die to give the feel of carpet :)
The funny sentiment is from Art Impressions Zoo Crew Feline set ~
and these two together made me LOL!

You can see what the design team created this week
by heading here to the blog.
Some super cute cards showing all kinds of dreaming ;)

I'm up for the month of October on the CCEE blog
and have some fun challenges in the works!

Stay tuned!

And if you ever want to play along, one week or every week,
there's a link at the bottom of the post
where you can add your cards, too :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

CCEE: BBQ Grillin' time!

Hi friends!

I'm still grillin' and the bbq'ing continues!
Although I'm vegetarian,
there's been a lot of hamburger on my blog this week :D
The new challenge this week at the CCEE Stampers
our last challenge for May from our hostess, Frances.

Sadly, we have had a sad loss this week with our CCEE DT friend, Joanne.
She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning
and was much loved by the stamping community.
I am certain her family would love a prayer of support
as she will be dearly missed by many.

Frances has chosen a fun theme this week!

May is apparently Barbecue Month and the 28th May is Hamburger Day….
Let's think BBQ's and/or Hamburgers when creating our cards this week.

For today's fun card, I used Art Impressions Grill Father.
This was gifted to me quite some time ago from a dear friend
and it's sat in a little folder - until now!
It was fun to color it up and create a fun card for my daughter's Father-in-Law.

Don't tell him ......
but it looks just like him!
Right down to the socks and light blue guayabera :)
He is truly one of the kindest and beautiful souls I've encountered.

When I met him for the first time,
it was actually in an emergency situation
and we met in the middle of the road in front of their home.
My driver's window rolled down, his driver's window rolled down,
we waved and introduced ourselves and he said to me ...

because the words still ring in my ears ...

"See behind you?"

I looked and nodded.

"That's your house."

I nodded again, a little surprised.

"Mi casa es siempre tu casa!"
(my house is your house, always!)

Ah! Makes me teary eyed just remembering!
It's an unusual way to meet someone for the first time,
but it always reminds me of how unique people can be/meet :)

I returned the favor the first time they came to our home for dinner ~
opening our door to his/wife's huge hugs and welcoming smiles.
I simply said ..

"Welcome home!"

Back to my card!

I've created a clean and simple card ~
colored with my prismacolor markers and set onto a solid base of designer paper.
I won't be giving this card to the FIL directly,
I'll let my daughter give it to him - from her! :)

If you head over to the CCEE Stampers challenge blog,
you can link up your hamburger/grilling cards, too!
You'll also see the amazing cards from the DT - they are delightful!

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

I'll enter my card into:  Cute Card Thursday - masculine!

Just like this hot java mama!
The robe, the curlers, the slippers!
Love it!
Oh and she's from Art Impressions and so so funny!
Her birthday 'text' is a hoot!

CCEE1805 ~ Spunky Old Broad's Day!

Hello friends!

Did you know February 1st is Spunky Old Broad's Day?
It's a day to celebrate the spunky and sassy older women everywhere!

For the month of February, I'll be the hostess of all the challenges
and just thought this theme would be a hilarious start to our card making!

Fun Facts!
  •  Back in the good old days, women were called broads because their hips were wider than men's hips.
  • The most popular and widely known spunky old broads are The Golden Girls!
  •  According to the US Census, spunky old broads live the longest in these 3 states:                                           California, Florida, and New York!

For my card today, I was happy to ink up one of my Art Impressions
stamp sets "Dare to be Fabulous".
I chose the single Spunky ol' gal from the set and used
the matching sentiment to make my card.

You can take a peek at what the other designers made
this week by heading over to the CCEE Stampers blog.

If you'd like to play along, and we'd love it if you did,
you can use the keyword CCEE1805 to your card in a gallery
or use the linky if it's an option.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Because ............ Friday :)

It's Fri-YAY!
Oh my goodness, what a week!
We survived the first week back to school :)
I'm ready to sit back and prop my feet up.
(My sweet, sweet husband is actually cooking dinner tonight,
so I might just get the chance to even stamp and color!! ♥)

Today's card is one I made for a challenge ~
I missed the deadline but thought it still came out cute!
And is pretty much sums my thoughts at the moment :/

 Happy Weekend!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Decaf is for wimps! :)

"Decaf is for wimps!"

I take mine leaded :)
And preferably wrapped in a Starbucks cup!
AND, with as much running around as I've done this week,
I'd prefer it in this size pot!

I'm happy to share that I'm going to be sharing something NEW
on my blog - starting in April!
I have been thinking/planning it over for awhile ♥
You know what they say, there's no time like the present!
I'm really excited ~  so grab your favorite cup + stay tuned!

These Art Impressions folks have got to be some of
the funniest stamp sets I own.
And the sentiments that AI comes up with to match ...
Seriously - I can't even - LOL!!!

Today's card is another one I made for the Spring Coffee Lover's Blog hop.
It's a fun time for big coffee fans
... such as m'self ...
to go through the stamp stash and use all our coffee themed stamps!

I will be catching up on blog visits by/on the weekend.
I'm restructuring my blog and getting it back on track,
as some of mah friends are missing!
I edited it, and then it wouldn't let me edit back,
but I'm sure I've figured it out ... and just in time for April!

Cheers!

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

~Kelly
I'll enter this as my 2nd card to the 2017 Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

It's a LOVE thing! ♥

 Hi friends!

It's me, wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day ♥
I told my husband 'Look!  It's me on a card!"

With a smile and careful consideration,
he offered "Baby, that is definitely not you on the card."

Well, I looked again and lo and behold, he's right!
I sadly do not own those cool heart shaped glasses!
Hee hee! :-)

{And the inside of my card}

Confession time!
One of my favorite things about celebrating Valentines
is seeing the decorated shoe boxes come home from school
with all the little handwritten To and From names and notes!
I love to go through them with my son
and see the assortment of U R My Best Friend,
I ♥ U, Be Mine, U R So Sweet and so on -
soooo cute!!

I'm old fashioned, I s'pose ....
I see pins and boards on Pinterest of the cutest
Valentines treats and handmade tags and cards
BUT ..

I think the kids should make them!
I really do!
My son gets out his little magic markers and writes his name
as many times as it takes
 for Sunday School, classroom,
teachers, speciality area teachers ...
I believe in lost art of letter writing, thank you notes, hand written cards ♥
He doesn't mind and but does say the kids in class think
"It's all about the candy, mommy!"

Yeah ....
I'm all about that life, too :-)

I'll enter my card into the Art Impressions monthly challenge: LOVE
Simon Says Stamp: Have a Heart
Friday Mashup:  LOVE

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
