 Hi friends!

One of the BEST gifts of 2024 gave me 

was being asked to stay on the Whimsy Stamps Design Team !

 I am overjoyed and have so many creative ideas :)

This card was a lot of fun to make and took nearly 1.5 hours!

I started with a base layer of blending a few distress oxide inks

in a pink-sunset-y color palette and build up a scene from there.

I wanted bright and fresh and botantical,

so I used my Whimsy Stamps Flamingo Summer stamps and dies.

Once those were colored, I used the Build-An-Island die set

and created a fun scene.

Finally, I added a birthday word banner shadow die 

in coordinating colors and the sentiment from a retired set.

Scavenger Hunt card!

 Hi friends!

Today I have an unusual card to share ~

one I'm calling a Scavenger Hunt card :)

I've been making a TON of cards this past month

and ....

quite frankly,

 my desk is a MESS!

I. have. things. everywhere!

SO, while cleaning and organizing I had an idea 

to put in a little basket small pieces of this 

... and that ...

and make a card!

                  

                   I used @mamaelephant critter stamps and dies

@waffleflowercrafts sentiment strip

@mftstamp happy birthday circle die

@lawnfawn designer paper

@pinkfreshstudio gold gems

ALL of which were from previous projects or ideas for ones.

Ta-da!

RSG: 3 of 3's ~ Hap-PEA Birthday!

 Hi friends!

Hap-pea Friday!

It's the weekend ~ I think! :)

All the days kinda blur together these days ~

but I am sure I'm not alone in that feeling!

Today's card is for the RSG 'extreme' challenge card group

where Barb, Jeanette and I take turns proposing a challenge

that's a little harder and more complex than the average challenge.

This month - it was my turn! 

This was my challenge:

 Ready -   There are 3 of us so pick your 3rd year of blogging, 3 month, 3 card.

Set -  You’re going to recreate that card to with the added twist of the numbers you chose.   I realize we have purged through the years -

 in fact, mine was a digital stamp and the company is long gone. 

The added twist was a number selected and we had to include that somehow on the card:

GO! - I had random number generator chose and got #402,

so I have to use 4 of something and 2 of something else!

 Here is my original card ~ which makes me smile!

I had that digital stamp commissioned and bought it for our group,

and it was sold only to me as it represented the 5 members in the card group.

The company is now long gone but it's a nice memory!

 And here is my current recreation!

I'm not alltogether happy with it ~

I think my mojo is floundering a little bit 

because our house if full of people working from home

and my year and a half old grandaughter, Alice, is quite the playful distraction!

 

 What I've modernized is using a (non-digi) stamp and die set 

from Lawn Fawn called Be Hap-Pea.

 Such a fun and fresh stamp set!

I now, looking back at my card, wish I had not gone with all green ~

but it is what is it!

My 4:  4 peas in the pod, 4 different copic markers

My 2:  2 different Distress Inks, blended for the background.

3M: The birthday bus!

 Hi friends!

In the words of the late Joan Rivers, "can we talk?"

Today's card is for the 3M (3 Musketeers) card group,

 I'm so lucky to also have this stamp set

 because I had to stop and start ...

and stop and start!

This card, unlike this sweet bear driving, was just all over the place :/

It about drove me crazy ...

 no pun intended!

 

This is Avery Elle's Birthday Bus!

They look like they are heading to a fun party ~ I sure wish I was going along!

 (Barb, Jeanette and myself) are the 3M

 where we have a mystery image and then create a card.

This stamp was Barb's choice for February.

 Most of our families greatest adventures,

and the most fun we've ever had,

were always when we did things things 'on the fly!'

I'm a planner.

I'm an itinerary girl.

But we love love LOVE spontaneity, too!

And ... 

that's just how my card was created, too :)

I had ideas.

 I made backgrounds with green grass and blue skies.

And some fancy clouds.

I had a sunset with rays and used about 4 different stencils.

Nothing. looked. right.

 

Finally, almost at my wits end,

 I spied a few tiny pieces of stamped images

 from another card I'd worked and something just clicked!

 Not part of my original design

but I added on some tiny pieces from the stash.

The sky and grass are designer paper from Echo Park

and I've added a fun die cut road for them to drive on.

I added it in reverse to the inside of the card

because hopefully the party will keep going!

 And here's the inside:  

I'm super happy with how this one came out ~

after it all clicked into place!

I think this party bus filled with cute critters will have many adventures.

CCEE1848: Circles and Squares!

 Hello sweet friends!

It's Thursday and that means it's the day

 the CCEE Stampers start a new challenge :)

And this is what I love SO MUCH about this talented group ~

one I'm very VERY blessed to be a part of ♥

The challenge themes are so creative and interesting ...

like this week!

 

This is Anne's last challenge for this month and this is what she gave us:

Anne here with my last challenge.  

This one is dedicated to my hubby, who is a retired Mathematics teacher.

Circles and squares are simple geometric shapes.

  Make a card using at least one of each.

Math and I don't get along very well  is my hardest subject

so it's a JOY to be doing mathematics on paper! :)

Here's what I came up with ↓

 

 There are quite a few birthdays coming up in December - 3 of them!
All 3 of our daughters were born in December .....
so I have to have the birthday cards ready to go :)

Using the Ski-sons Greetings stamp set from My Favorite Things stamps,
I created the {square} panel with a die-namic and then used a punch
to create the {circle} center shape.
The bear is colored with prismacolor markers and popped up on foam,
and a sentiment from the same stamp set is added on, too.

Riley and Company - Birthday Celebrations!

Hi friends!

There's a new Riley and Company Challenge today and this week,

I'm the hostess!

Since March is a popular month for birthdays,

I thought that would be a fun, easy challenge this go 'round ~

create a birthday card using Riley or Sophie!

 

For my card today, I created what I call a "Surprise Inside" card ♥

I used the clear stamp set called

"Popping out of the cake Riley Clear Set" which is so versatile!

On the front of my card, I stamped the sentiment "You take the Cake"

(comes in the stamp set!)

and on the inside .............

 

Surprise!

After stamping Riley, I paper pieced the cake and gave it a quick

color over the ribbons and confetti.

 



 

When the card is open, it pops up and the image is revealed.

However, this card folds completely flat into an A2 size card!

WOYWW #240 ~ Happy Bird-day!

 

Wow, it's Wednesday already!!

 This week is zipping by. 

And one blessing of having the kids back in school

 is I actually know what day of the week it is :)
No picture of my desk this week but we are thankful for Julia!

I have a quick post and card that I whipped up - 

I know, I know ... 

I can be a little long winded at times :)

My card today is bright and fun as birthdays should be!

 I love bold, fun colors and fall back to them often,

especially when you find in your stash some super fun bday dsp!

 

You probably all know by now how much I adore The Alley Way Stamps.

They are super fun and have a whimsical flair which I love!

They stamp crisp and clean and making coloring super fun,

and paper-piecing, too!

My favorite technique!

For today's bright and happy card, I actually printed off a digi

for the front and double layered it.  For the inside,

I stamped the sentiment from my All About You stamp set.

This is my 10th card this year ~ 

moving right along with the 100/100 challenge!

I'll also enter this card into the TAWS challenge to make a birthday card,

as well as Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge #150 ~ Use Polka Dots!
