Dancing Dragonflies!

 Hi friends!

Wishing you a wonderful start to your weekend :)

Today, I have a dragonfly card to share with you

for an Instagram card group that I'm in

with a theme of Flutterfly.

Honestly, this card had a mind of it's own!

I had another vision for this card design but that vision

saw itself out of the room, LOL!

So .. back up plan it is and we'll just pretend it was meant to be ..

who's gonna know!

*wink!*

AND PEEP THE FRESH KEY LIMES COMING IN FOR THE SEASON!

oH My HaPPy hEArT!

For this planned card cheerful card today,

I used Your Next Stamp Dancing Dragonflies.

I will miss them in the stamping community!

The little wings are ink blended with 3 different

colors of distress oxides and then hit with a slight paint splatter.

The background (where it went askew!) was ink blended as well

but I had to think of a way to salvage it by using a circle die.

And the gorgeous watercolored flower is from Waffle Flower Crafts.

I've always said dragonflies are my spirit animal.

Although technically it's an insect, in my heart

i. just. know.

And that's it!

Be your own kind of beautiful <3

Guest Designer - Tutorial: Wall Tile Background!

Hi everyone!

Today I have the privilege of being a Tutorial Guest Designer

at Splitcoaststampers with a technique that I call

Wall Tile Background!

I literally stumbled upon this idea by accident playing around

with my removeable wall tile decor.

I looked at all the hills and valleys and thought hmmmm...

that looks like a fun faux embossing folder!

The tile lended itself to be a beautiful background once

mixed with paper, water and ink!

You can see the video here on YouTube at the

Splitcoaststampers channel!

https://youtu.be/l5aPejTatZs

Here is the finished  look if you want to skip ahead

to the final card :)

I started with these supplies:

This was actually quite easy and not quite as messy as it may seem,

although you know I love my messy art :)

Why this technique?

1. It was fun!  WAY fun!

2. It's cost effective - it was one whole dollar :)  Yep ... $1!

3. It's an alternative to an embossing folder ...

4. did I mention fun?

5. You never get the same look twice!

Each and every background, every time, will be unique!

Head on over to Splitcoaststampers

Tutorial section for more step by step instructions,

photos and the video!

Rainbow bloom!

Hi friends!

I'm still here!

GOSH ... it's been FOR-EH-VAH since I've posted!

Aside from summer, trying to squeeze in cleaning, exercising

and watching my little 2 year old granddaughter, I'm filming!

First, thank you so much for visiting my teeny tiny YouTube channel!

I appreciate your comments and support - it means the world to me <3

I have been filming a lot of summer short craft videos,

a few shopping hauls and cardmaking - a little this, a little that :)

On to my card ....

This is probably the favorite card I've made like ALL year!

I made this for the #lovewins blog hop on Instagram

and never showcased it here on my blog.

So here we go!

Happy Friday!

Wishing you a great start to your weekend <3

Thanks for stopping by!

.... beautiful wings

Hi friends!

I hope your weekend is going superb!

Have you been able to get crafty and make some cards?

Me, too!

*smile!*

Each month, I try to create a card with a dragonfly ~

not just depicting my love for them,

but also to showcase my 2021 Word Of The Year - Soar!

Today I'm sharing a card using a gorgeous dragonfly

from Gina K Designs called Beautiful Wings.

 This stamp and die set

was a gift from my amazing daughter, Victoria :)

 Thank you, baby!

I went with tones of grey and pops of green/purple colors

to emulate the linen dragonfly shirt here for the IS challenge at SCS.

I kept the same color palette and for the necklace,

added a few silver gems.

Isn't this the sweetest sentiment :)

I'll be using this stamp and die set again and again and again <3

Mission Impossible - Possible 03.15.21

Hi friends!

For today's card, you may need some sunglasses

- it's BRIGHT!

I hope you're having a great start to your week!

I'm one more day into my exercise/weight loss journey and ...

I'm. Tired.

LOL!

But it's a good kind of tired :)

And ..

it also makes me late for things - like making cards and blogging.

So, let's get into it ...

this card is for the Mission Impossible Possible card challenge

that my fabulous friend, Jeanette, came up with.

Her idea is:

You pick a mystery item and mail it to the others in the group

and we create a card based on that mystery item.

We (Barb, Jeanette and I) had a lot of fun with it last year that we're

doing it again - except we'll take turns chosing/mailing the mystery item!

I was first up this year and mailed out a brand new Pretty Pink Posh

birthday stencil which stole my heart the moment I saw it!

It was HARD to wait to use it but here we are!

Okay, enough ramblin' .....

here is my card, made with distress oxide inks, the stencil

and the super cute stamp set from Your Next Stamp Photo Booth.

I used oxide inks in Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers

since this card will be for a boy and made it fun, cheerful, silly!

And here's the inside:

For the panel that was stenciled with the Pretty Pink Posh birthday,

while the oxides were setting, I spritzed them with water.

It gave it a little more of a mixed looked to the blending.

Barb's card with the stencil is here

and Jeanette's card is here!

This will be a quarterly challenge between us so the next one

will be in a couple of months - and I can't wait :)

One final look - and thanks so much for stopping by!

And be sure to stop back tomorrow 3/4/2021 for the Blog Hop!

Here is the line up for today's preview:

My card today is using the new stamps and dies from Spring Smiles.

This set is just darling!

Here are a couple of fun announcements and my card to follow

so let's take a peek at Spring Smiles!

                                       Onto my card ....

I've used a distress ink in Tumbled Glass for the background,

blending in an ombre fashion from dark to light.

I used the new domed ink blenders and I purposedly skipped

a few spots while 'swiping' to get a cloudy effect.

For the darling bunny and stamped images, I colored them with copic

markers and added them with a frame by using 2 dies to create it.

And finally, stamped the matching sentiment to the background

and popped it up onto a card base!

Is this the cutest set?

It has an adorable envelope of mail, the sweet bunny,

and the gorgeous watering can of flowers!

I used the watering can and trimmed off the top for this card

to create flowers and added the happy butterfly dancing about!

To see the full hop of previews today,

Excited to be published!

 Hi friends!

I'm super duper happy to share that I've been published

in the Spring 2021 edition of Creative Scrapbooker magazine!

Sorry for the really bad photo - no make up, hair is still wet

and I have been scrubbing my house from top to bottom!

I ran outside and just took a photo - showcasing the magazine not me :)

I have 3 cards inside and they were my FAVES when I created them

so it's so exciting and a big blessing to see them in print!

This GORGEOUS stamp set from Stamplorations is on page #60

along with Beautiful Bloom, my One Plus Twelve from last year!

And this sweet butterfly card which I LOVED is on page #115!

Thank you for letting me share my good news!

Be sure to check out CSM and be inspired by all the cards,

projects, tutorials and more.

It's a cache of creative goodness!

Exciting news to share!! :)

 Hi friends ♥
I'm so excited to share today's post!
This year, I really wanted to do more in my card making + crafting
so I finally jumped from 'do it' instead of 'keep thinking about it!'

*I now have a craft channel on You-Tube!*

It really seems surreal, and there were a few boo-boos,
but that's okay - it's the journey that makes it worthwhile :)

The link above ↑ will take you straight to my channel
if you like to take a peek.
If you subscribe, it will let you know about
new postings and I'll be having a giveaway soon! ♥

So, are you part of the planner craze?
I am seeing planners and planner clips and planner stickers everywhere!

Planner clips are really easy to make. But today I'm showing you another way to make them
using your stamps and dies.

All you need are your stamps, dies (and if you don't have those, then scissors), markers,  glue (hot glue or all purpose like Aleene's tacky glue) and paper clips!
That's it!

Stamps and dies are typically known for cards and scrapbooks,
but in times of budgeting, it's a great way to really get the full use out of your products and stretch their usage.
It's economical, fun to do and you can tailor it
to exactly the style and design you need!

For today's post and planner/journal clips, I've used 2 different stamps
and dies from The Project Bin.
Kinda Pawsome and Feline Good .

I'm a calendar on the wall girl at heart ~
best way keep track of our busy family's crazy schedule!
But, I do have a small personal planner on my desk to
keep track of the different card groups I'm in and it's amazingly helpful.

Here they are all packaged up, in a little gift container ♥
Such a cute gift idea for birthdays, holidays, and just because :)

 Thanks for stopping by today!
If you head over to The Project Bin inspiration blog,
you'll see a wonderful variety of cards to admire!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly
