I'm soooo sorry for the last post today! :( My daughter (15) and I celebrated her birthday today and then a frantic call from her sister (dd12) came in from an incident at school that has me quite unraveled ...... Keep the faith, keep the faith .... that's my mantra and I will channel it into showing you the November Kit for this month!

So, isn't it darling image! My camera is shot, so not the best picture but our hostess with the mostess this month was Catherine and she picked the cutest image from Victoria Case called Coco Puff :) I tell ya, it reminded me SO MUCH of a picture I have of my dd when she was just 3, so I colored her as a blonde/blue eyed little girl just for her :)




Catherine provided the papers and image and some gorgeous ribbons (one of them is so beautiful, I just couldn't figure out how on earth to work with it so look for card #2 soon!) I did a small booboo when I made this card a few days ago with the candy paper and cut it too short for my liking but I was inventing this L/O in my head and it looked better IN MY HEAD, rofl!! It's quite poofy and layered 3D each layer, added some dew drops off the side in the pink theme and a blingy rhinestone snowflake :)

* Fresh Brewed Designs Release & Blog Hop! *

Now, today is my daughter's 15th birthday (I seem to post on my blog on birthdays, lol!) and instantly I was drawn to this lovely digi stamp ..... she is like the #1 fan of the uber fantabulous Taylor Swift and she came to mind when I saw it ...... and then I started singing Taylor's song "Fifteen" ..... and here we are! LOL! Behold, a card for my daughter which she absolutely LOVED :) (see, your shopping will be rewarded! Tee hee!) I added the sentiment inside (from an SU! set) and took a photo before writing her a special message :) I wanted to use this paper specifically (thank you, Catherine!) because it had that youthful, somewhat whimsical look to it and designed a layout to showcase the image (and *15!*)

Next up is Coffee Talk which I just adore ...... this image is so much fun and versatile for the friends you meet at the coffee shop, for tucking away a gift card {like, S'Bucks :)} or sending a card to say *I'm thinking of you* :) I paired it with some dsp from MFT, added some flowers and ribbon and a string of rows of tiny pearls.

A little Lovin' from the Oven! :)

Hi friends! The holidays are upon us and there is a lot of bakin' going on in our house -- I absolutely love to cook and baking is a small part of that (my real passion is the meal done in courses!) My children - including little man - have all inherited my love of cooking and it's often quite busy in the kitchen around here (and yes, I often look like Baking Beauty you see here, tee hee!) Isn't she gorgeous! And if you stop on over to the Busy Beauties Boutique, she can be yours, too!

Busy Beauties Boutique Release Day + Bog Hop!

What an exciting day for me -- First, it's my daughter Victoria's 11th Birthday! She's my joy, my miracle, my angel, my shadow :) I'm so proud of the beautiful girl she has grown into and thank the Heavenly Father every single day for her :*)

And it's also new digi release day at the BBB!! The images are SO STINKIN' CUTE!! It was hard to chose which ones I wanted to showcase so I just let my creativity get to work (and one is still a work in progress!) First up, introducing ....... Stick figure reindeer! Isn't he just the sweetest! He just melted my heart when I saw him :) I went with another elongated card - these have quickly become my favorite to make! I just invented a layout that looked like it matched, lol, and voila! He's avaiable for you to buy in the store TODAY!!










I also have the new frilly cupcake for you to see ~ darling, isn't it! I let it be the center of the birthday card which has layers and layers upon layers .... kinda like a cupcake should! (tee hee!) It's very versatile ~ could even be a holiday cupcake :)







I also made them in a smaller form to make a set of birthday mini cards (3 x 3) with matching envies ..... perfect for a "grab and go!"





And lastly, I made some gift card holders using these sweet Gingerbread boy and girl! I made one of each, one using more winter masculine colors for Gingerboy and one girly girly pink (even with pink frosting :) for gingergirl! I will show these in detail tomorrow since I really need the entire page to show you from start to finish but at least you can see them finished :)

One of my many daughters ..... haha, couldn't resist that! ..... has a birthday in 2 days. She is all about pink and bling (couldn't be more opposite than me, lol) so I wanted to make her an unusual card - one that is her style. I used the Mint Sundae digi and paired it with some MME Christmas colorful paper, hot pink cardstock and some bling ~ she always tells me the best gifts are the ones I MAKE for her .... sniff,sniff!

SSCC #14 ~ Giving Thanks

This week at the SSCC, our hostess Helen gave us this wonderful scripture from Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."






The challenge this week is to pay homage to the spirit of Thanksgiving and put Christmas cards to the side :) I have so much to be grateful for and am glad this gave me the opportunity to make a few Thanksgiving cards and reflect on harvesting in doing good. So for my card I kept the autumn feel and hoped for a "rustic" look ~ I envisioned all the colors of plowed fields, the last of the leaves still on the Northern trees, wooden fences around sprawling fields .... I love this old set from SU and added that as my sentiment :) I made the same card and inverted it horizontal for one, vertical for the other ... hence, no need to lean sideways, lol! TFL!

Love birds - a non-traditional Winter :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I hope your day is a wonderful one, filled with wonderful memories and happy blessings. This has been an exciting and VERY BUSY week for us - between school concerts, ds's Thanksgiving play, hosting dinner at our house (17 people in total - wowza!) Needless to say, Im in a rush now to get some crafting done! Tee hee!

This month for the uber fun SOTC card swap, lovely Lindalee asked us to make a winter or Christmas card BUT using non-traditional colors - oh love it! THis is also my "winter" entry for KKS Challenge ~ to make a card using winter as the theme.

I found some delicious My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas collection paper at my LSS and bought all they had - each one double sided and it was heartbreaking to have to chose one over the other! (why do they do that to us, rofl - surely they know we love them both!) I went with SU! papers of rich razzleberry, melon mambo, bermuda bay - super non traditional. I love, love, love color but usually for my holiday cards, they tend to be a little less ....... Loud *grin!*

Take the Inktegrity's Mantel Challenge! ;)

How fun is this challenge! The talented Joni at Inktegrity had a blank mantel for you to decorate for the holidays :) Head on over to her blog and see what you can do, too! I went with an outdoors looking in *winter scene* - the Christmas tree light in the background, the mantel w/ Gingerbread house and candles lit, the stockings hung and waiting for Santa :) Making Gingerbread houses with my children every Christmas is a family tradition in our house so this was quite fun!

SSCC #13! 1 Corinthians 13:12

Happy Friday everyone! This is an exciting day for me since in a few more hours I'll be sitting in the movies for the long awaited sequeal - ohhhhh the excitment! I won't sleep a wink tonight!

But I wanted to share with you my challenge card for the SSCC #13 with a beautiful verse from the book of Corinthians - 1 Cor 13:12. The challenge this week is .....

CHALLENGE
My stamping challenge related to that verse then, involves one of my favorite techniques or layouts, the shadowbox card. No more shadows, no more dim reflections when we get to heaven! Please see the examples below from our talented design team for some great inspiration.

This is the first time I've made one of these and it was soooooo much fun!! It took a little bit of work, but I managed! I love a good challenge and trying new things - it's a wonderful way to stretch the creative mind and share techiques with fellow paper crafters! So thank you from me for this wonderful new adventure!

This card also has another meaning as I'm sending it to a wonderful friend as she celebrates her birthday today. I know it won't make it in time (I'm sorry!) but I at least wanted to let her know that I'm thinking of her and she can get a little sneak peek of what it looks like. I wish you the happiest of birthdays today and all the blessings your special day can hold, Mary! Hugs!!!!!!!

Peachy Keen Stamps CHallenge #16

All night, as I created this sunshiney card, I've been singing "Ain't No Sunshine when she's gone ......" LOL! It's been rolling thru my head for the last hour :)

This card is for the PKS Challenge #16 this week - Kathy challenged us to Use our PKS faces ;)



The only face stamp I have for PKS is this lovely sunshine, so much of what we are still enjoying here in tropical south Florida. Now this card was inspired by something my dh and I used to say when we first met - 27 years ago ..... "Turn that frown UPSIDE DOWN!" {I *think* it was based on a toy commercial, but ya know, the memory DOES start to go *grins!*} SO I inverted one sunshine on purpose :) The sentiment is handmade via computer and nesties and they are all propped up on 3D dots.

KKS Challenge #6 AND a new Puppy !

Kraftin' Kimmie stamps is challenging us this week to use lotsa circles! My original idea sorta didn't come together as planned and so back to the drawing board I went and this one fell right into my lap. It's kinda simple compared to my usual bling it up and embellish it out but I like it! I really do :) I'm happy with how this one turned out. I went with a double circular frame, circle patterned paper and added some double circle hoops on the side. Hop on over to Kimmie's blog if you want to play along, too! I was inspired partly by ............. BUDDY!

Poor thing is 4" high and fell into a hole in our front yard that dh was SURE he'd filled in last year - rofl! He's actually lovin' it now and runs straight for it during "playtime outside!"

Most of you know, we have a brand new puppy! We brought home an 8 week old Jack Russell from a place we found in Citra, Florida -- most wonderful lady, Miss Jodi -- It was a 6 hour drive - ONE WAY! We definitely tell him we traveled to the moon and back to find him, not that he reallllly understands, lol. We are sooo in love! He's a bundle of joy. He's very snuggly - loves to cuddle and already and is doing so much better than I thought w/ training (potty training anyway! Leash training .... eh .... not so much!) He's super cute, and super fun - not the burst of 100% energy everyone said he'd be but maybe he's young still ::: crossing fingers! :::: He brings such a wonderful spot of happiness to our family already ..... I think it was a perfect match :) We let our 5 year old son pick his name and he said he's always wanted a boy buddy, so that was it :) (I secretly hoped for Max, but it wasn't up to me, tee hee!) And doesn't he look like Daisy in a round about way - even with the little spot, too! TFL!

Froggy went a courtin ....... ;) SSS #30

Isn't he cute! This lil Froggy is looking for his princess! ;) Tee hee! He's a real cute, from the SNSS line called Pond Pals!






This was a fun sketch to do and these stamps are super easy to use - they ink up nicely on the first go! I first stamped a background using the cat tails doing a double image stamp, then added Mr. Froggie (colored blue for my son who absolutely adored the blue frogs we saw at the zoo!) and a dragonfly with movement, sponged the background and edging and then just followed the sketch. Super fun! TFL and have a wonderful Sunday!

Today's card is a double post - although this is going to a soldier in the OWH, it's also my entry for the SSCC #12 :) First time I've had to enter a card for a double post but Im having MAJOR blog troubles since last night! Here is the descrption they give:

SCRIPTURE

The scripture I’ve chosen this week is John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

Here in America, we are so blessed with freedom. Just think about how we can freely worship our wonderful God anytime we want. Many men and women throughout the years have sacrificed their lives so that we may have that opportunity. Not only have these soldiers sacrificed their lives, but their families have made sacrifices as well. I can’t thank my God enough for sending these amazing men and women to protect us. They truly are heroes, and they have a very special place in my heart.

There is a quote that says, “Only two people have ever died for you. One is Jesus Christ. The other is the American soldier.” That is so true. Jesus Christ died for us so that we might have eternal life. The American soldier died for us so that we might have freedom in this earthly life. My prayer is that we never take either cause for granted. Not only as Americans, but as Christians, I feel that it is our duty to support our troops and to show them our support in every way that we can. That brings me to our challenge.

CHALLENGE

The mission of Operation Write Home (formerly known as Cards for Heroes) is to support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank (handmade) greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.

The challenge for this week is to make a patriotic-themed card for a soldier and as a bonus, donate it to Operation Write Home, so that a soldier may be encouraged by your words of thanks. Write a special message of gratitude on the inside and sign your name. They will be distributed to soldiers who rarely get mail, or just need encouragement. Be sure to put your card in an envelope and write “Any Hero” on the front. Time for another All About Me Challenge and the theme is "I can't live without ....." Oh how long my list really is! My first instinct was to scrap about my FAITH {can't live without that!}, then I wanted to incorporate my family (It's a given that my kids would be my natural choice, too!, but honestly, they are scrapped nearly every day!) I even thought "hmmm, Starbucks!" - hee hee ...... but when I stopped and thought about it the most, the one thing that makes my life COMPLETE is my love -- my true soul mate, my best friend, my reason for waking and breathing and being the person I am ..... my hubby :)

Here is the original sketch by pencil Lines, Sketch 144: and then my take. It's such a detailed sketch and I ended up with 7 different layers of paper and cardstock!! Trying out for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Happy Wednesday! And since today is Veteran's Day, it's doubly happy. I come from a military family and although we lost dad a few years ago to cancer, this day is still a great honor for me and all it represents. :::: waving to my brother and his wife, still in the Army in Germany :::::

And this little Kraftin' Kimmie set was my "application" for a guest designer spot (gulp!) I needed to sent a small card for my (above mentioned) SIL, Susan, for a birthday coming up and for their 3 year old adopted German shepared, Emma, which will be filled with treats :) So I brought out Francesca - who is just delightful! I paired it with some My Mind's Eye paper & embellies. I sponged around the frame of the image and added a KK sentiment as well. For the small tin, I found that at the Dollar Tree and did some hodge-podge covering with matching DSP, Daisy stamp, and lotsa ribbons!

Thanks for looking! This was tons of fun for me. I always tells my children to try their best and reach for the stars and one of the best joys in life for me is try to be a good example for them (and put my words to action, lol!)

First, let me humbly say OOOPS!! I forgot to post here the winner of the card and treat for the Chi-chi hop ...... dh pulled a random number and gave me 7 ..... so that would be Jessbells :) Thanks so much everyone - please drop me a note w/ your email so I can get this off to you!



I was happy to have the chance to play along again this week with the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge ...... this week is "Tag - You're it!" which is, of course, a card with a tag! I adore these stamps - just oh so adore them! And this one is certainly no exception - she's Lillith and comes with her own froggie :) How much more adorable can it get! I used the KK sentiment set as well with SMOOCH, ha ha ......

The surrounding frame is actually propped up but I couldn't get a very good picture at any angle but I tried :) And I added a CB border and a hand-made tag from the BG line of yummy paper.

November KitCat ~ It's a Manga Girl Christmas!

This month the KitCat's host is the fantabulous Michelle and I was just jumping up and down with glee when I saw the wonderful Kit she prepared for us! The Sugar Nellie Manga girl was enough to make me go bananas happy, but the paper is just delicious and the exact colors that I love to use, so this was a wonderful joy! She graciously allowed us to pick a holiday and I went with my fave, Christmas ...... so make sure you stop by the other "Kittens" blogs to see what they chose as well! The DSP is just yummy, so I grabbed so Real Red, Pink Piro and Old Olive from my stash to pair with the beauty of the paper and the CB snowflake paper Miche sent along with those gorgeous snowflakes. AAM Challenge #4 ~ Turning Point

For the All About Me challenge #4, Miranda asked us to scrap a turning point in our lives. She writes: I think everyone has had a turning point in their life. A moment your life changed, even if you didn't realize it at the moment. It can be something small, a big event, a choice you made, that influenced your life and had a huge impact. Of course it can be a happy turning point, but it may be a sad one too. So... what was a turning point in your life??


Although it's a painful post, I am grateful today to be able to move through the ashes of pain and forward to brighter days. For me, that turning point was 10 years ago - *that day* was in July 1999. Although these pictures are current, the events that happened in just a few weeks time have really been a milestone change in my life that has shaped me into the person that I am today. Those events were the catalyst that have changed the life I knew, shook my confidence as a person and parent to my core, and will live with me for the rest of my life. A snipet from my journaling card reads: "In just a few weeks time, life sent my way the pain of my parents announcing their divorce after 36 years of marriage. Only days later, I sat diligently by my baby daughter's hospital bedside crib for over a week as she fought for her life after a near-fatal accident, begging God to take me instead of her, even though I had two baby daughters still at home that needed me, too. The pain and anguish and guilt proved to be the winner and I lost the baby I was carrying - what would have been our 4th child - to a painful miscarriage. I was fortunate to have a supportive husband and friends - no one blamed me, but I carried enough guilt and blame to last a lifetime. But through that pain and darkness, my faith never faltered and I always kept my eyes and heart on Him, and know to this day that His greatness & love for me has helped me move forward ...... and it's that support and unconditional love that brought me full circle to Finding My Way Back. I leave you today with Isaiah 41:13, one that I carried with me for a long, long time as I reminded myself that He will always be there to help carry the burden :) TFL and blessings!
