and then .......... people!

Hi friends!

 hAPpY HaLLoWeEn!

I can't believe October is almost over

and in a few hours, the kids will actually be Trick or Treating!

The past year(s) have been so ....different.

It will be a wonderful sight tonight seeing the children at the door -

in costumes, asking for little treats!

I can't wait :)

My card ....... eek!

I'm literally 2 weeks overdue in posting this for the CCL card group.

Mine did arrive much later than anticipated and then L.I.F.E

but at least it's still October!

Our hostesses for this round of card kit splendor was

LJ for the Diamonds and Darlene for the Pearls!

They chose a theme of humor / snarky cat

and LJ sent us the most fabulous card kit with Tim Holtz snarky cat.

And here's my card!

I couldn't agree more with this sentence most days when I'm out!

People here where i live just don't know how to be normal :/

LJ sent us several sentiments and they are a hoot!

I chose this one because I'll send this to my daughter

and it's right up her alley (cat) - HA!

The rest of the card making friends created cards

and you can find them on Splitcoaststampers - Classy Card Ladies.

Next month, we have one more round

and then it's ta-da - done until 2022!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just scrap it!

Hi friends!

Today's post is a collection of square pumpkins!

I was inspired by my granddaughter's little cartoon

Spookley the Square Pumpkin

which is the sweetest story of a little pumpkin that is born square

instead of round.

He wants to be part of the Jack o Lympics to be the Pick of the Patch!

I used my scraps of dsp and an MFT Stamps square die

and made 4 different colors of pumkins.

I added the stem and top with a ric-rac die and secured it with a brad

and, of course, added some googly eyes!

These are quick 2 x 2 'twinchie' cards

easy to add to presents and gifts or send along with friend mail!

Thanks for stopping by today!

CCEE2142 ~ Number it!

Hi friends!

Who's ready for a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers?

Me!

And this week is a wonderful and intriguing challenge,

on that had me quite puzzled, as math and numbers often do! :)

Frances has our challenge again this week and says:

Number It .... Include a number or numbers on your creations this week.

You can make an aged birthday card; number themed designer paper, number themed

embossing folders or dies. Anything goes as long as there is a number somewhere!

And there you have it!

My card does have a number - all the way to the bottom

in the sentiment.

#30 :)

I've created a card using 3 vibrant Halloween colors

as the CC at SCS this week was 3 colors

(hey! another number! LOL!)

I realized after I assembled, stamped and glue the card,

the sentiment didn't fit vertically.

I had to cut it apart and stamp it horizontally

and realize it doesn't quite make sense reading left to right,

so it's to be read up and down!

We'd love to see what you make :)

CCEE2141 ~ Mini slimlines!

Hi friends!

There's a new challenge this week at the CCEE Stampers

and we're making mini slimlines!

Hop over to the blog! This is the challenge from Frances:

Just like Slimline Cards, Mini Slimline Cards are also becoming very popular,

for our challenge this week create a Mini Slimline card.

Typically Mini Slim Line Cards are either 3 1/2 inches x 6 inches or 3 inches x 6 inches.

This is what I've made this week in a VERY creative way :)

If you don't own any mini slimline dies,

don't worry!

Neither do I :)

I took a regular slimline die from LDRS and cut it down to size,

gluing it back together with Bearly Arts glue.

Be sure to head over to the blog to see how you can link up your cards!

We'd love to see them!

Hot Mess = Success: Sparkle!

Hi friends!

It's another super messy card for today's card challenge at

Hot Mess = Success!

If you have been by my blog before,

you'll know that this series is to create a messy background card.

I don't like messes but it's tons of fun to make them artistically!

This is actually one of my funnest card series to do :)

So what mess did I make this month?

I created a super sparkly background using my

Nuvo paste Shooting Stars , applied with a spatula and a stencil.

Once it was dry, I die cut it to a smaller frame with a die

and propped it up onto a glittery background ~

from my friend Carol, left over from a card kit!

I added a butterfly that was in my stash and

 a sparkle puffy sentiment sticker.

It's hard to see the sparkle and this was VERY hard to photograph

so here's a tiny video clip!

(click the screen below!)

Was this month a success:  Yes!

Would I do this technique again?  YES!

There are 4 other lovely ladies in the group now

getting their messes on!

Barb, Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and I are all Hot Messes

so be sure to see what they created, too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp What?! ~ Just checkin in!

 Hi friends!

Today's post is for the monthly card series Stamp What?!

started by my son one say coming home from school :)

We were chatting about my "Old Dusties",

the really, REALLY old (nothing current)

Stampin' Up! stamp sets that were collecting dust

and he encouraged me to use them.

The name:  Stamp = Stampin' Up

What = What willl he chose!

He choses it - I use it!

I never know what he will bring down the hall and I love

LOVE

to ask him why he chose a particular one -

sometimes at random, sometimes because 'it looked cool!"

This month:

Best of Cluck

circa 2005!

Me:  Super cute!  Why did you chose this one?

Him:  Because I thought of your chicken soup :)

He's right!

He's been sick. Very, very sick.

101+ fever, vomiting, dehydrated and we've been super worried.

But, he is better and a very watchful mama has been doting on him

and he's on the mend, PTL!

So naturally, he's thinking of chicken - and apparently chicken soup! -

that I made for him while he was unable to really eat much.

Onward ... my card!

I still think this was one of the best SU! catalog releases!

This stamp set included :)

This is one of those classic sets that is still fun to use today!

Be sure to check out Barb and Jeanette's cards, too!

I'll be continuing this challenge next year

and he and I will continue the fun!

Thanks for stopping by

and wishing you a beautiful Sunday!

3M: October's BOO kitty!

 Hi friends!

It's the 9th of the month and that means a new mystery image

 reveal for the 3 Musketeers!

This group was created by Jeanette

and she's also the hostess this month ...

and sent us an adorable stamp to create with!

This month's mystery image to create a card with is

Boo Kitty from Rabbit Hole Designs.

SO sweet!

I decided to color mine like our sweet cat, Finny!

She LOVES to hang out with me as I craft!

And here is my card!

I made a cute Halloween card using a shaped die

and festive Halloween paper.

Please be sure to check out Jeanette's card

and Barb's card on their blogs, too!

24 Hour Blueprints ~ October!

 Hi friends!

Happy Inktober!

This is truly one of my favorite times of the year ~

the beauty of fall, the crisp change to the air,

 the colors, tastes and smells!

AND today is my granddaughter's 3rd birthday!

YAY! <3

And oh - there's a new segment to the 24 Hour Blueprint challenge, too!

You can read how it all started here on the first post  ~

the challenge is the hostess creates sketches for cards,

sends it to us 7 am the day before and we have 24 hours to make them!

Jeanette is our hostess for this round and

these are her 3 amazing sketches:

And now here are my 3 cards ~ but before I show them to you,

I have to apologize to our hostess, Jeanette!

I didn't read the instructions clearly and didn't see that the theme was

seasonal - meaning all 3 cards were to be a different season!

So, we'll just pretend my cards are different seasonal coffees ...

I've got some chesnut, spiced vanilla chai and pumpkin spice lattes!

:)

For all 3 of my cards, I've used Pretty Pink Posh "giving thanks" stamp:

Here's card #1:

Card #2:

and card #3:

This will be the last of this series for 2021

and we may/not resume in 2022 but it was a fun challenge to try!

I think anything that inspires you to create and make some cards

is a wonderful thing and I'm thankful to my friend Shiela

for introducing me to this fun concept!

Be sure to see what Jeanette and Barb have created with the sketches

and here's a final look at my 3 cards:

Thanks, Jeanette, for a fun round!

Have a beautiful day everyone ~

it's party time around here!

Thanks for stopping by!

One Plus Twelve - October!

Hello friends!

It's the 3rd of the month which means - One Plus Twelve ~

my favorite card series!

If you are new to my blog or the One Plus Twelve card idea,

it's simple!

Take one stamp - and just ONE stamp - and use it all year long,

once a month, twelve different ways :)

The idea came about when I realized I was buying and hoarding

using my stamps just once ... and I came up with this idea

to stretch the use of my stamps and crafting supplies.

Each year, my stamp chooses me.

I've said that each year about my Word of the Year, too.

I tend to just settle in on one stamp that doesn't seem to let me go.

But I digress!

First, here's my card:

This series is a fun one but usually around this time of the year

I start really struggling with how to use the stamp differently.

For October, I wanted to go with oranges for fall and Fall-o-ween.

For 2021, my stamp is Altenew's build-a-flower magnolia,

my favorite flower!

I stamped it with Versamark first and then heat embossed my image.

I blended with distress inks, blender brushes and embossing powder

and then added a sentiment after cutting the stamped image panel in

half.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I loved this technique when I made a previous card,

so if we love it, why not try it again - only differently!

My friends Barb and Jeanette are doing this challenge again this year

and you can see their cards on their blogs.

I really like this month's card :)

It's a wonderful technique, I love the bright colors for the season

and it was fun to create!

And that's it for this month's One Plus Twelve!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

 Hi friends!

Happy October!

I've been trying to post this card since 11 am, LOL!

I knew today would be a fun day to create a card and even got an early start, in between cleaning and laundry and my second POT of coffee!

But, my life never goes according to the day's plans and there's ALWAYS something waiting 'round the bend to take me away from crafting :)

                                            Perserverence!

Today's card is using Avery Elle's Boo to You stamp set, perfect for creating this Halloween shaker card.

I stamped/colored and ran through my Brother Scan N Cut these images so they would be cut out. The pumpkin wouldn't cut the inner lines so I had to adlib those and use a circle die, then my scissors to fussy cut.

Whatever works, amiright?!

I filled the shaker with Paper Rose Studios shaker elements and I did a video haul on these awhile back on my YouTube channel - they are adorable and fit inside the shaker so beautifully.

This video making this card will up shortly - be sure to check back :)

I used Bearly Arts glue to hold most of this card together and fill in the area with the acetate, as well as glue the cardstocks together. Love it!

I wish you all things joyous today as you create!

I am honored to know you all from across the globe and share this passion of papercrafting with you ~ friends, cardmakers, papercrafters, youtubers and more!  You are all really like extensions of family <3
