It's a Kell-of-a-mess: June!

Hi friends!

It's time for another edition of Kell-of-a-mess!

This is a spin off of a creative vision I had years ago

to create any card/project with a MESSY theme.

A very busy life kept me away for a bit but I'm back and

oh. the. ideas. I. have!

This month, I have a collab!

Here's a quick recap of the process shortened into 40 seconds!

-

My granddaughter was visiting and wanted 'to do the art things!'

No doubt she is my grandchild!

But in true Kelly form, I couldn't let her leftover paint go to waste.

I recycled it by dipping heavyweight (this part is important!)

cardstock into the paint and let it dry.

Distress watercolor cardstocks are perfect, too!

For best results, let is dry overnight and then stamp directly onto it.

I used Taylored Epxressions Daisy Dreams stamp and die set.

This has been in my stash awhile and never gets used!

After die cutting and building a card base,

3 incredibly unique and fun card blossomed!

Again ~ messy but fun!

I absolutely adore the idea of being able to USE something

instead of just TOSS IT in the trash :)

Here they are together:

Hey CHUMS!

Hi friends!

We at Whimsy Stamps are sharing our shark/JAWS themed

cards in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the movies JAWS.

That's probaby the one movie that changed my life the most!

I'm using the newly released Shark Snacks die set

to make this not-so-scary shark.

Here is the matcing REEL on Instagram!

We ADORE Shark Week at our house!

It's a whole week of festivies, tv binging and

fun shark themed meals and snacks and deserts,

You're OUT of this world!

Hi friends!

Today we are heading to space!

My dad bought my brother and I our first telescope

when we were teeny tiny

and I still love looking up at the stars.

And seeing a shooting star is still delightful!

I used Lawn Fawn stamps to create this card.

Starting with distress inks, a galaxy was born!

I also stamped, die cut and colored the stamps from Out Of This World

and layered them around the card base.

The final touch is the clouds and sentiment!

You are BEE-utiful!

 You are BEE-utiful!

Buzzing by today with a great big THANK YOU to

Your Paper Insider

for sending me amazing box of cardstock to try, create and share.

This was truly a kind gesture and

my jaw dropped when I opened the box!

Just WOW!

According to their website,

"each box is hand-selected, one-of-a-kind exotic papers

and cardstock from around the globe.

Each one is a mystery ~ like receiving a gift wrapped present!"

I have an unboxing on my Youtube channel coming up

but you can see this ADORABLE bee that showed up

when I was photographing my card!

TOO cute!

And here is my card:

I used @sizzix Bee Hive die set to create this card

and o.m.gee ... the wings!

I love the delicate beauty of them!

You can see more photos and details with description

on my Instagram HERE.

3M: Turtles don't hurry!

 Hi friends!

I'm not posting late for the 3M ..
I'm just being a turtle!

Turtles, as we know, are slow.
They take forever and often are the LAST to arrive
 whereever they must be going.

Yep, that's the story I'm going to go with, LOL!

Hi!

I have another card for the 3M card group
and this month, Jeanette sent us the adorable Unity Stamp Co
Turtle stamp set to work with.

Tank you, Jeanette!

She states the company sent her extras
and she generously shared with Barb and I!
My card idea was to go for a storybook look,
like a page out of a children's illustrated book.

Not sure I nailed it but this will be cute for my granddaughter,
she won't mind!

Be sure to see Jeanette's card here
and Barb's card here!

Recycled Artistry: May

Hi, it's me! 👋

Playing in the trash again!

My card is using the box from the set of Island markers

from Altenew for a recycled card hop.

My friend Dawn saw a card I made on Instagram that I upcycled

from a thrifted book & asked if I wanted to co-host a group with her.

Sure!

I do love a RECYCLE thrift flip!

You can see the video here !

And my card ⇓

Here is the box I started with,

already disassembled and getting the creative vibe going!

I really love the idea of turning something into something else

ESPECIALLY if I can keep it out of the landfill.

We need to protect and take care of Mother Earth!

Here is one final look!

3M: Go Fly a Kite!

 Hi friends!

It's time for the monthly 3M (3 Musketeers) card share!

This is a group with 3 friends (Barb, Jeanette and I)

that take turns sending a mystery stamped image to create a card.

I'm sorry for the delay and posting so late in the day ~

my laptop was over at my daughter's house :)

This month, Barb sent us this Newton's Nook Designs

stamped image called Newton's Kite.

I colored my kitty to look like my Oliver!

This was one of the color combos I chose for 2025 - pink and peach!

I created a background of colorful clouds with a stencil and ink blending.

The frames are from the-basket-on-my-desk file.

It's quite ....... overflowing TBH!

Be sure to see what Barb and Jeanette have created as well!

Thanks for stopping by!

1 + 12 Thrives in '25: May

 Hi friends!

Happy May!

Today I'm sharing my monthly card for my

card series:  One Plus Twelve

and this is the 7th year of this challenge

where I take 1 stamp and use it 12 times,

one for each month.

For 2025,

I chose Close At Heart, a collab stamp and die

from Alex Syberia and Simon Says Stamp.

This was released during their Stamptember celebration

and I can't tell you how much I adore it!

I took my Concord and 9th ink cubes (from the Winter Camp)

and matching cardstocks to create this card.

With the ink cubes, I swiped them directly onto cardstock,

let it dry and stamped onto the background.

Taking matching cardstock colors, I layered them diagonally

in a coordinating color pattern and die cut the entire panel together.

The sentiment is also from the Close At Heart set

and perfect for many occasions.

FRIDAY fun!

 Hi friends!

Today I'm sharing a card for a monthly card group

where we have a theme to follow and a card to create

The theme was:  Celebrate the women in our lives,

be it a mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, etc.

I chose my mama!

She was a seamstress for 50+ years, self taught

with a hand-me-down Singer from a thrift store.

She would make our baby clothes and most of my dresses

growing up, including matches for my dollies!

I did NOT inherit that gene.

I can't sew in a straight line, not by machine or hand!

My oldest daughter - HOLY SMOKES, the talent.

BUT!

I can make cards, LOL!

I'll enter this to the current Lawn Fawn challenge #195

with a BINGO theme:

I used whimsical, mice, bright, markers and cardstock!

Thanks for stopping by!

Teal vision .........

Hi friends!

I'm behind on blogging ....... again.

Life is LIFIN'

and I just can't seem to stay above the (crafty) float!

But I'm thinking ... that's a good thing 💙

Recently I created a card for a monochromatic challenge.

It was MEEEEEEH-SY!

I used the Lindy's Gang Magicals in teals

 and well,

let me just SUGGEST (that's me shoutin')

that you may want to wear gloves!

The end result?  Stunning but prepare yo'self!

Speaking of teal, I did the TikTok Color Your Name challenge.

You type in your name and it generates *your* color.

Did I bite my nails wishing for green?

you. betcha.

But I did get my 2nd favorite color so win/win 😁

Back to my card!

I also used Bountiful Bouquet from Altenew

and did some splotter (that's splatter but my toxic trait is

I never STOP when I should so my splatter turns to splotter!)

And that's my teal inspired card!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Kell-of-a-mess: April!

  Hey friends!

It's another edition of my monthly series:  Kell-of-a-mess!

You can read how I startred this fun HERE!

And this month, we're having POTATOES!

Here is the video in a recap!

I really love the idea of recycling and upcycling

and it hurts my heart to throw away something I could potential use

(at least once in this case!)

Since I was throwing away the peels anyway, why not have some fun!

From start to finish, here's what I came up with!

This was BY FAR the messiest fun creating I've had in a good while!

It was WILD but the end result was truly really pretty.
