"Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! Jingle allllll the way!"
Merry Christmas!
It's such fun to celebrate Christmas in July ♥
Not only a wonderful theme to celebrate all year IMO,
but a great way to great a head start on those holiday cards :)
It's the 15th which means it's dueling day for the DDD!
Jeanette and I are the hostesses this round,
and we thought it would be fun to host with Christmas in July.
For the divas, I tossed in an extra twist
and the kits I sent out this month are Whimsical Christmas!
Every year growing up, my brother and I
would wait for the Charlie Brown specials to come on
From the Great Pumpkin to the Charlie Brown Christmas, we'd be glued
to the tv. I was lucky to get a few Snoopy stamps before they retired
including this Snoopy's Christmas Doghouse
so I chose the papers,
embellies to go around Snoopy and his colorful doghouse.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this stamp!
I mean, I seriously {♥} it!
Now, my card, however ..
I. am. so. disappointed :(
Truthfully, that happens.
We make cards we love,
and cards we'd don't ....
Truth be told, if I wasn't the hostess and had to have a card today,
this one wouldn't be here.
I do have it's replacement drying but didn't get to photograph/edit it in time.
Stay tuned *wink!*
We also asked the Dueling Darlings a challenge question:
What is the first thing you do each year to get in the Christmas spirit?
For me, I know it's the holidays when I see Starbucks
bringing out those glorious red cups!
The aroma of the peppermint mochas and gingerbread lattes fill the air
and you just know - it's the holidays! :)
But, the first thing we do as a family is find our Christmas tree ♥
We ALWAYS get a real tree each year,
a tradition we started for our first daughter when she was born.
As soon as the kids find and chose the perfect Christmas tree,
we tie it to the roof of the car, bring it home, put on Christmas carols
and decorate the tree, the house,
start our holiday baking, etc!
Quite the opposite of Christmas, it's so hot here
so we are heading to the Florida Keys for the weekend.
Summer is actually half way over for us,
so we are enjoying the sun and surf :)
Be sure to hop around and see what the rest of the Divas
and the Dazzlers have made with their holiday kits, too!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Snoopy is just adorable! I love how fun and festive your card is, and I love the sketch. The inside- cute, cute die : ) LOL, had to laugh as I guessed your festive comment would be the red cup or something to do with coffee : )
ReplyDeleteKelly thanks so much for the kit it was so much fun to play with. I love the red house and pretty colored bulbs. The banners, buttons and twine are used so well on the front of the card. I love how you decorate the insides of your cards. I can feel Christams through your description. Awesome job on this challenge my friend.....

(My fourth attempt to comment, so I apologize if you somehow end up with multiples -- my computer keeps losing the connection!)
ReplyDeleteThis is truly wonderful, Kelly -- so bright and festive! Snoopy has an extra special place in my heart, especially at Christmas town, as my home town is his as well. Charles Schulz lived and worked here, and he and his wife Jean were good friends of my grandparents. Every year at Christmas they would hold an ice skating show at the Snoopy ice arena, and we would get to go watch all the characters come to life. Such great memories! I haven't been able to craft or visit in Blogland in the last several months, but am finally back on the bandwagon. I hope you and your family are well, and look forward to seeing more of your wonderful cards! Hugs!
You just can't go wrong with Snoopy! Love this card and what you've done with it. Great job!
