Hello, friends!
Our hostess for the CCEE Stampers is the Lynn
and here's her first challenge of the month:
Tomorrow is National Read a Road Map Day!
In
honor of it, let's create a card which incorporates a map or has a
travel theme.
What a fun challenge!
Thank you, Lynn!
We love to travel, instilled in me as a child as we jetted around the globe
in our military family.
Now, our family tries to get away as often as we can.
I adore old road maps!
I still have many from the AAA days when you could call them and request a city/state
and our series of the Rand McNally road atlases.
Now ... we just pop an address into the GPS or ask Siri ;)
For my card today, I've used a very old stamp set
called Hanna Stamps: Going Places.
It's perfect with the traveling girl stopping to read her map!
This is a hybrid card - half colored with copics, half with promarkers!
To create the little cityscape scene behind her,
I stamped her/masked it off and then stamped the buildings.
The inside has a sentiment which reads: Bon Voyage!
Speaking of traveling, I seem to have lost my mojo.
Perhaps it's too many irons in the fire,
perhaps it my sweet little granddaughter that commands much
of this Oma's attention :)
So if you happen to see it, please send it back my way!

Fun card! I remember getting instructions and maps for holiday tours from the automobile club here! Today it's easier! But not such fun! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat card certainly doesn't look as though your mojo is AWOL Kelly - that card is a stunner

ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Kelly.

I love old maps too. They were great for the altered books I used to do.
ReplyDeleteYour card is adorable. Loving the use of designer paper. I'm gradually increasing my use of DP as I make most of my own backgrounds.
I love this!! The image is fabulous!! I love the suitcase paper you used, too!! Even with GPS and Siri, I still like to use a map when traveling just to see where we're going :) Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Kelly, I love your card - the stamp you used is great for the theme! And the DP! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteA super cute stamp and I love the traveling theme! Mojo gets lost, but sometimes it helps to sit down and make something ugly on purpose. Then move on...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I was never very good at folding these things back up. My road maps always looked like a tangled mess, but boy did we depend on them and learn to use them well! Thank goodness for the invention of GPS systems! Now that I have to navigate life alone, I would be parked on the side of the road reading my map most of the time and getting nowhere!!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card for this travel challenge, Kelly!!
Super travel card!
ReplyDeletePerfect patterned paper for a cute, cute card!
