Classy Card Ladies: Spring sketch!

Hi friends!

Every 15th of the month, there's a new CCL challenge

and our hostesses this month are:  LJ and Darlene!

The CCL = Classy Card Ladies and we're divided into 2 teams:

The Diamonds and The Pearls and we 'duel' card kits once a month.

For April, our hostesses came up with a theme of:

spring sketches!

Our gorgeous kit is from LJ and we received the stamped image,

beautiful embellishments and pretty papers

AND

Team Diamonds were asked to create our cards using THIS sketch:

This is a beautiful sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #592!

Here is my card based on this sketch

and using the beautiful spring flower as a focal point.

This flower is part of the spring Tim Holtz collection

and I was inspired to go with the color yellow.

To follow the sketch, I used the designer papers as a base

and cut up one of the squares into stripes

and highlighted the flower with vellum underneath.

And here's the inside:

that's it for this month's card duel!

Here is the full list of the cardmakers on both teams:

It's a GREEN Challenge!

Hi ya'll!
Today is all about Green!

I know, sounds like a country cookin' channel, right?
Get out a big 'ol bowl,
grab some collards, some kale, some spinach ...
{↑ all super yummy!}
... and let's talk green!

It's actually challenge time at The Ink Spot!
Our challenge is to use the color green on our cards.

I love this challenge
because I love green!

 My.  favorite.  color.  EVER!!

So here's what I came up with using Schoolgirl Sophie
and the funnybones sentiment 'winky faces'.
I might add ~ my teenage daughter saw this card,
started busting up laughing and snap-chatted it to all her friends
with "true story!" added on.

well then!
I actually remade this card 3 times :/
It wasn't until I finally took out the green background
and added in a little touch of light blue that it finally came together :)
Whew!

I hope you are inspired to head over to

The Ink Spot and see 6 fabulous stamp stores all in one place!

You can also see my DT teammates + their pretty green cards, too!

Now that I'm done with my card, I can get back to cookin!
Maybe some broccoli and turnip greens ...
(but no brussell sprouts,  those are yucky!! hee hee!)

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

3 Musketeers - Harvest Cart ♥

Hi friends!

We've been busy having a BIRTHDAY today!
From sun up to sun down, we made little man's 11th birthday
as special as it could be with lots of wake up excitement, special outings, his favorite restaurant, cake and ice cream and gifts!
I finally have a chance to get my card launched :)

Today the 3M's are back again with our card creations using this
beautiful Great Impressions Harvest Cart stamp from Barb!
I've never used this stamp before and was thrilled to color up
another Autumn themed stamped image as it's such a beautiful season.
I've also used up some papers from my never opened Basic Grey Herbs and Honey mat stack in "harvesty" colors and ...added some buttons!

Now that I see it, I'm thinking I should rename my blog to Banners 'N Buttons!
That's one thing I love to do in my card making,
adding lots of layers, buttons and banners + the insides, too! ♥
I do hope it's not monotonous and boring :)

On the inside of my card, I have stamped a Lil' Inker sentiment
(also never been used until now!)

Be sure to stop in and see what Barb and Jeanette have made with
this beautiful harvest cart as well!
I sure hope Autumn is bringing you all things wonderful ♥

Big Hugs, Bigger Blessings!
~Kelly

Ill enter my card into:  FanTastic Tuesday- AG, Square!
Love to Scrap - two patterned papers

DDD: What's Cookin'?!

Hi everyone -- I hope your weekend was fabulous :)

It's the 15th of the month ~ our Dueling Darlings posting day!
Today we post our monthly card kits:
Barb for the Divas and Debbie for the Dazzlers
 w/ this wonderful theme:
 Recipe Cards!

I was so excited to see Barb's kit this month!
First, she is one of the most generous ladies and her kits are always
so full, you could make cards for days upon days!
This kit was just stuffed full of amazing, wonderful papers and embellishments!
Second, the theme made me smile as my I've been making my
daughter a recipe book for a couple of years now.
She's quite an accomplished chef at just 19 and one day will
enjoy cooking for a husband and family of her own ♥
So when making my recipe card, I asked her for one of her recipes
that I haven't scrapped yet and she gave me her quick mac 'n cheese.
Yum! :)

Recipe card is 6 x 6, scalloped

Here's the recipe since it's hard to read above! :)
I was ambitious and actually made a place card as well ~
Barb's kit was stuffed full of goodies!
I think I pretty much used all but a few ribbons ♥
I just adored those wooden spoon and fork embellies :)

Barb also asked us to share why we picked this recipe.
Honestly, it's not the one I would have picked.
Tt was the one my daughter gave me when I asked for one
so it's the one that was showcased.
It is yummylicious though!
She makes a fried lasagna noodle dish w/ organic tomato sauce
that is out of this world!
And, her homemade minestrone soup w/ veggies from her own garden will pretty much knock your boots off! ♥

I have always loved cooking and enjoy it so very much when time permits.
But it's also nice that when dd feels ambitious, that she gets her cookin' on!
And even though we are the busy, need to be too many places family,
and dh working longer/later hours,
we hold fast to one of our family commitments that no matter what
we make it home to have dinner together as family.
We eat dinner together - all 6 of us! -
EVERY.  SINGLE.  NIGHT! ♥\

Thank you, Barb, for fabulous kit to play with and to Barb/Deb for this theme.
Please be sure to hop on over to the rest of the DDD
Divas and Dazzlers to see what they've created
with the dueling them of recipe cards ~
you can find their links in my sidebar.

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Fields of Green ...

 Hi Friends - Happy Weekend!
Ours has been jam packed thus far without a stitch of relaxing anywhere :)

Did you catch the new March Bugaboo Bingo ~ what a fun challenge!

For my card,  I went with the Green-Flower-Die cut Bingo and used the Girlz Flowers digi.  I just love this image so very much - it's so flowing and soft and reminds me of my daughters when they were little ~ how they loved to romp through the fields and scoop up handfuls of wild flowers.
We used to take them to the vast fields by our house before it was developed all around us and they would just run through the big fields of green grass, pick sunflowers by the bushels.   We'd have bottles and vases of flowers all over the house and I truly got to learn the term "May all your weeds be wildflowers" :)  (yes, sometimes I got twigs and handfuls of grass, too!  But loved all the same!)

I'm using a VERY old paper pack of Basic Greys' Origins ~ I've had this paper for forever and it just felt right.  It was nice to finally get it back out again and use it (LINY card!)  The inside is blank as I havent' decided yet what to do with this card exactly :)

Be sure to stop on by the BINGO challenge and enter your Bugaboo cards!
Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! :)

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
~Kelly
