Hey there, Hanna! Sorry for the very blurry images! These lil gals were actually on their way in the mail and already sealed in their envies -- It's Hanna Brunette and Hanna Blonde! I paper-pieced their dresses and headbands and really tried to get the feel for how I thought she looked in my head (I did have this card planned out, but ...... lol) I kept the background around her clean and simple because the card looked busy enough & added a general sentiment since she's drinking coffee but it might not be used as a coffee card :)
I have to say after seeing them finished, while I normally prefer to color everyone brunette, I like her better as a blonde (maybe it's her dress, lol) I struggle with this part of my card making to be perfectly honest and try to shy away from "people" as much as possible ~ I am not confident enough in my card making or have the skills necessary to really pull them off - give me a coffee mug, cute animal or flower any day and I'm so happy! How nice it would be to have a cup of coffee or tea with you all one day! *hugs!*
you are so sweet!! we should all plan a stamping retreat..how fun would that be! I love how you paper pieced this! Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteWhy do you shy away from people when you do such great work Kelly?!? These are wonderful and you should be very proud of yourself! I am exactly like you and will 99.9% of the time color my girls as a brunette, but I do like this Hanna as a blonde! It must be the dress! :D ((big hugs))
ReplyDeleteI usually color my ladies as blond, but that is only because DD is one. I think you did a great job!! I look forward to our having a cup of tea together someday.
ReplyDeleteI also color almost everyone brunette - but I figured it was because I am one! LOL! My first blonds were for you and Kadie.
ReplyDeleteI think these look great! You should definitely not be afraid to do people - this beauty of a card is proof that you do them well!
Hugs,
Catherine
awwwwwwwww so cute! love the dresses!
ReplyDeleteThese are both cute. Fun way to change them up with different hair and dresses.
ReplyDeleteWell I think you did a very lovley job on coloring these girls and I think you should do more. I tend to go darker on the hair when coloring peeps to just because I like high contrast, but it is fun to branch out too.
ReplyDeletememememmememe..I want one...love it girlfriend..mwah
ReplyDeleteKelly, these cards are absolutely gorgeous. I love them! I tell ya, my friend, your cards are outstanding!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth are just adorable, love your coloring.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your cards...blonde or brunette. I can't for the life of me understand why you shy away from people...these are fabulous!!! You colored them wonderfully, and you always choose the prettiest papers and embellies. I think you are awesome and should dive into any type of stamp head-on!!! No matter what it is, I know you are going to WOW us:o)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have something I need to send your way. I have misplaced my Rolodex...so, could you please email me your address...pretty please:o)
Hugs!
Carolyn
