It's a Kell-of-a-mess: January!

 Hi friends!

How about another session of messy card creating adventures!

I adore art and creating in crazy new ways

and adding in a little messy fun ...

hence the title of this series from last year:

Kell-of-a-mess!

Once upon a time, I had lots of ideas for groups

but had to step away to my busy, wonderful life journey.

My schedule freed up a wee bit

so I've revisited some of my old stompin' grounds ...

like messy art!

And wow was this one ever so ...

my fingers and hands had mica powder for a whole day!

I used the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals

to create a few backgrounds.

I've used the PandM and Ken Oliver but gurrrrrl.

These are shimmer and potent!

When gramma used to say "Honey, a little goes a long way!'

now I get it.

Just a dash of this and SHAZAM!

Lots of color, lots of sparkle and shimmah!

For this card, I used 2 different sets and matched my cardstock

to the colors pulled from the background.

This adorable All Inside stamp set from Ellen Hutson

and it will be a cute Valentine to mail 💜

CCEE2037: Slimline ~ Happy Birthday to my son!

Hi friends!

Today is my son's 16th Birthday!

I am just in awe of this most amazing kid ~

growing up to be such an amazing young man.

He just embraces goodness and kindess in the world

and is always laughing and smiling :)

I'm So So SO blessed to be his mama!

The CCEE Stampers challenge this week is the ever-so-popular slim line cards!

Frances is our September hostess and she's chosen this week's challenge.

This is one of the cards I made for my son's birthday

using the collaboration stamp of Lawn Fawn and Ellen Hutson.

It was perfect since he's a Boy Scout and camping is his jam!

This was SO MUCH fun to create.

I've created a YouTube Video where you can see this card put together :)

CYS: One of a Kind! ♥

Hi friends!

I'm doing a little lot of hopping this week ~
just like this little 'roo!
My beautiful granddaughter, Alice, turns ONE next week!
I can't believe the year has flown by so fast ♥

The theme for this month's CYS (Challenge Your Stash) card group
is anything goes:  Get Well, Thinking of You, etc
I went with I'm thinking of you
and a sweet reminder of what an incredibly good mama my daughter is.
Truly one of the most God-has-plans-for-you moments of my life ...
(Jeremiah 29:11)

For this card, I created a background with distress oxide inks
and made little hills for the Kangaroo and her babe to rest upon.
It's not her favorite animal by a long shot ~
or her favorite color (purple is!)
but it just felt right to create this one with a very (VERY!) old stamp set,
a collaboration with Ellen Hutson and Avery Elle.

It's a nod to Australia and it's called G'Day Mate.
I believe it was released in 2017 as part of the United We Flourish campaign,
where stamp companies support each other
'because together we are better!"

You can watch the behind the scenes creation of this here

Back to my card!
After coloring the image, and die cutting it, I built the card base quickly.
I layered a few cardstock pieces in coordinating colors of beige and pink.
The beige came from pulling the colors I used for the kangaroo.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment and popped that up with some foam
for dimension and so it wouldn't get lost on the card.

That's it for me today!
I'm finally back in the saddle with card making
so hopefully I can crank a few out before the party
and before I have to put everything away again :)

Dining room table crafting at it's best!
Big hugs, bigger blessing!
