CCEE2011 ~ Party Favors!

Hi friends!

There's a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers  ~ party favors!
The challenge is to create a treat BOX ~
and the DT has created some gorgeously yummy treat boxes.
I went slightly off the beaten path with my party favors :)
I am part of a local, super fun book club
and wanted to bring something to the table this week when we meet
so my contribution to the party favors are book marks!

These took forever to color!
In fact, over 2 hours and I'm still not finished.
(and at the time I took photos, the green one was missing ..
and on St. Patrick's week - can you imagine!)
I needed to add the sentiments on but ran short on time
and will probably decide to skip the ribbons at the all together.

Here's the collection, minus the green :)
I've used the ADORABLE reading dragon stamps from MFT Stamps
called Magical Friends.
I just love love LOVE this stamp set.
I've cut out the characters with my Brother Scan n Cut
and colored with both prismacolor markers and copic markers.
The little clouds are from an MFT die-namic
and the rectangle scallop and straight dies are from spellbinders.
I am also in love with the beautiful watercolor paper from Lawn Fawn -
and plan to buy another pack soon ♥

Here's a close up view of just 3 of them ↓

Stay tuned .... I'll add the sentiments later today
and will show another peek before they are all given out :)

This was also my day 11 of coloring for The Daily Marker 30 Day ~
a coloring challenge that last's the month.
You color a little, you can color a lot!

Today was a lot :)

You can see the DT inspiration blog here
as well as link up your projects.
If you use a gallery like Flickr or Splitcoaststampers,
use the keyword CCEE2011.

I'll enter this into:  Happy Little Stampers - AG with dies

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

CYS: One of a Kind! ♥

Hi friends!

I'm doing a little lot of hopping this week ~
just like this little 'roo!
My beautiful granddaughter, Alice, turns ONE next week!
I can't believe the year has flown by so fast ♥

The theme for this month's CYS (Challenge Your Stash) card group
is anything goes:  Get Well, Thinking of You, etc
I went with I'm thinking of you
and a sweet reminder of what an incredibly good mama my daughter is.
Truly one of the most God-has-plans-for-you moments of my life ...
(Jeremiah 29:11)

For this card, I created a background with distress oxide inks
and made little hills for the Kangaroo and her babe to rest upon.
It's not her favorite animal by a long shot ~
or her favorite color (purple is!)
but it just felt right to create this one with a very (VERY!) old stamp set,
a collaboration with Ellen Hutson and Avery Elle.

It's a nod to Australia and it's called G'Day Mate.
I believe it was released in 2017 as part of the United We Flourish campaign,
where stamp companies support each other
'because together we are better!"

You can watch the behind the scenes creation of this here

Back to my card!
After coloring the image, and die cutting it, I built the card base quickly.
I layered a few cardstock pieces in coordinating colors of beige and pink.
The beige came from pulling the colors I used for the kangaroo.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment and popped that up with some foam
for dimension and so it wouldn't get lost on the card.

That's it for me today!
I'm finally back in the saddle with card making
so hopefully I can crank a few out before the party
and before I have to put everything away again :)

Dining room table crafting at it's best!
Big hugs, bigger blessing!

DDD: You're the bees knees!

 Hello friends!

You're the bees knees!

Today is the day the Dueling Darlings card group post our cards
with a chosen theme by the hostesses:
which is Jeanette and I.
We chose a theme of Humorous!

I had to ad-lib a little on the humor part
and this is more PUN-NY than FUNNY :)

The DDD Card group is 2 teams:  The Divas and The Dazzlers.
We chose the theme and I created card kits for the Divas
and Jeanette created kits for the Dazzlers.
And on the 15th, we reveal our card kits and see what each of us has made!

For my card today, I used Newton's Nook Winston's Honeybees.
i chose this one as it had several different punny sentiments
and would make a cute card!
I paired it with papers from Pebbles 'Family Ties'
and just dies/a frame to create the backdrop for Winston.

And that's it for this month's round of the Dueling Darlings!
You can see the other team mates cards by
stopping in to the thread at Splitcoaststampers under Dueling Darlings :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

29 ... again?

Don't you love it that we are so young .........

Every.  Single. Year!

Me, too :)

We are actually on our way to the zoo!
I got sidetracked last night with 100K
other projects and busy-ness so I'm blogging on the fly :)

I added the sentiment to the inside of the card,
as the front was getting pretty busy.
This card came together pretty quickly,
using a kit that was sent to me by Barb as part of our
Creative Card Chicks -SCS group.
I used at least one of everything in the kit except the brads
and the cardstock, poloraid frame are from my stock and cuttlebug :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
