Day 3: You are Sublime ...

Happy Wednesday!

It's day #3 in my summer series "5 days of ..."
and I'm swimming along with

The Alphabet Game!

I could not have been more excited to see today's :
the letter "L"!

I knew right away which company I would pick when I saw "L"
and I knew exactly the stamp set, too :)

My husband and I celebrated our 25th year of marriage
a couple of months ago (but together for 34!)
and I am absolutely, unequivocally as deeply in love with him
today as I was all those years ago.
He's truly the other half of what makes me whole ~
as a wife, a mom, as me ♥

And he EELY likes my cards!
LOL!
He's super supportive and encouraging and truly my biggest fan ♥
When I make him a card,
he keeps every. last. one!

I colored my Lawn Fawn  You are Sublime and die cut them
to create an underwater scene.
The background piece was created by using a simple sheet of white
cardstock and blending and blending and resting my elbows and blending
with a couple of distress oxide inks.
After adding a frame and the sentiment,
I popped up almost all of the cut-outs on 3d foam, added sequins
and some wink of stella in the submarine windows and the coral.

I had a sweet friend as me the other day if I still do the inside of my cards :)
The answer is:  yes!
I usually just don't show them anymore as I'm switching up
the way I do a few things on my blog ...  AND ....
because each card is specifically made for someone or
I give them away as part of my #yearofkindess,
I try to let that part be a surprise!

I tailored his card to fit the Lawn Fawnatics challenge this week
so I'll enter my card there!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

I love you!

I do - I love you, friends!
Thank you for chuckling along with me and our camping adventures!
But, it's nice to be home and crafting again - that's for sure!
This was an incredible productive weekend at my little craft kiosk ....
I managed to make 8 cards - woohoo!

Today's card is from the progressive challenge at From the Heart Stamps,
 a delightful digital stamp company
with some of the cutest lil digis you'll ever see ♥
I've been playing along with their monthly progressive challenge since last year
(and even before that)
and just love the stamps you receive each month.
I was too busy to play along in December,
and as you can see by the late date, almost missed January! :/

Aside from being adorable, the image was very versatile, too ~
could be Christmas, or just winter, or and adorable love card
based on the sentiments generously supplied with the digi.
I went with the latter - LOVE!

Here's my card submission, inside and out:

This color combination is one of my all time favorites -
from the day I put Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette and Real Red together
one year making Christmas cards ♥

Thanks for stopping by ~
I hope your weekend was marvelous!

Carriers of Faith ~ Showing Love ♥

Hi friends!
We're off for the weekend for some last moments of summer fun!
We sure wish summer could last all year long
but it's back to school soon ~ meh!

Today's card was fun to make :)
The Carriers of Faith have a wonderful theme this month
and our hostess is April!

Here's what she said:

August Challenge:
Since we post the day after my wedding anniversary, I would like everyone to make a project based on one of the scriptures read at my wedding:

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7   "Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."  Your card doesn't need to be based on a spousal love, and as such.   I would love to hear a story of one of your loves!

This verse was also in our wedding, too ♥

So, I had my husband in mind when creating my card.
He is the center of my world and one of the BEST men on the planet :)
He's my high school sweetie and here we are ...
30 years and 4 kids later!

For the card I made today,
I finally opened one of my new SU! Stamp sets "See Ya Later"
that I bought but hadn't had the chance to ink up.
I also wanted to emboss the sentiment, which says
"Once in a lifetime you meet someone
who changes everything."

So sweet!

I went with a Cherry Cobbler color
{our wedding color was *dusty rose* for my mom :)
but ohhhhh, I'm so NOT a pink girl!}
I found this card pattern on Pinterest
and fell in love with it, too,
and wanted to recreate it with my own spin ♥

I hope you are able to visit my COF sistahs, too!
You can find them listed in my sidebar!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

I'm all WASHI-d up with Bugaboo!

Hi there!
Today is an extra fun posting day for me as it's tutorial day at Catch the Bug ~ Bugaboo Stamp's inspiration blog.

For today's tutorial post, I thought I'd show you a great way to create a card, or project, without using any designer paper ~ surprise!  I adore my layers upon layers on my cards and I'm crazy for my mix 'n match designer papers :)

However, one of the most beautiful style of cards is CAS cards - easy breazy and super pretty!

So what's one way of creating a card without the use of any designer papers?
Grab some Washi Tape! =)

Using a digi stamp like the ones at Bugaboo and Washi tape, it's an easy way to brighten up a card and keep it simple and let the image shine!
For today's card, I am showcasing the adorable Puppy Love digi - available in the store.  Any color/size/style of washi tape will do for your card or project.
For today's card, I used navy blue, hot pink and soft yellow washi tape and cardstock -and that's it!  Not a stitch of dsp anywhere! :)

I started with these few rolls and a classic design ....

That's it for today's tutorial!
I hope you are able to color up your Bugaboo stamps
and play with the many challenges that go on each week!

Big hugs,
Bigger Blessings!

A Little Duel of Love!

IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE!

It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time for the blogging group Dueling Darlings to have a friendly battle with card kits!
Judy is our hostess this month for Team Divas and she sent us this lovely kit and image showcasing Love! :)

In Judy's words: It’s February and your Dueling Darling hostess’s Paola for the Dazzlers and Judy for the Divas have chosen this theme of love based on the Bible verses from Corinthians 13: 4,7,13 ~  “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud….It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres… And now these three remain:  faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.” (NIV)  There is so much about love to celebrate in February besides the forever traditional day of love,
Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14th.

For my card, I actually kept it pretty simple and let image be the main focal point :) This was actually one of the first SU stamp sets I bought!  I adored the sketch look to it and yet I think it's seen ink maybe twice!
I even considered leaving the image uncolored and untouched at first but it didn't look quite right ;)  So  ... I colored it very lightly instead to have a muted look, almost a soft water color without the watercolors, LOL!

And how I love the inside of this card, too - it's using my treasured PSX stamp  "Near the sea we forget to count the days."  I hunted high and low for this stamp years ago after seeing it in a magazine not realizing PSX had gone out of business!  I've had it for many years now and love when it gets to come out and play ~ it felt perfect for this image!

Thanks Judy and Paola for a fabulous theme this month:)
The second part of our challenge is this:
With this theme in mind we would like you to sow the seeds of love and kindness you have received in your life.  You are challenged to pay it forward by performing a kind gesture and doing it anonymously!  The week of  the 10th – 16th may be the perfect opportunity for you to do this.

One of the joys of living a life of faith is knowing that the christian walk is filled with intentional acts of kindness.  Nearly every day, I strive to teach my children, and myself, to share the love of Christ with others and to make intentional, purposeful decisions to show the Grace of God through actions and words.  I'm such a proud mommy to know how much my children have come to love God.  Being saved, and know how much Jesus has done for us, what a small price it is to do something that means the world to someone else when it seems like it's nothing at all.  Smile today!  You may never know that your smile, a gesture, a kind word, or the prayer you can share with someone else could make all the difference to them.
May God bless you so richly today :)

Please be sure to stop in at the rest of the DT blogs off to my right and see what the rest of the Divas did with this matching card kit and the Dazzlers with theirs!

Big hugs,
Bigger Blessings,
~Kelly

DDD ~ I love this post!!

Me again!  Busy weekend on da blog!   After a long hiatus, how funny two cards are due on the SAME day!  And I can't tell you how much I love the Dueling Darlings!  And even more how much I loved this month's theme - a mix and mash of a little bit of ever'thing!  This month's theme - rather than have a 'duel' of card kits between the Divas and the Dazzlers, our very own Debbie came up with the uber fabulous idea to keep a little something from each kit we receive in the 8 months of kit swapping and use the leftovers on the final card!  What a great idea! A great way to create, upcycle and make 2 cards with the products instead of just one!

Each month I create a card from the kit, there is always so much left over from the generous hostesses ... and this month is REALLY a treat for me!  I was unable to complete my card kit when LJ sent it out.  I had the best intentions to 'catch up' the next month and by then, Debbie's suggestion came in and I have been HOARDING it for nearly 5 months!!  I saved and waited and saved and waited and knew I was going to use it for today's post, and am SO excited to finally get to use her yummy image!  I think it's from a*muse, but sadly did not write down who sent what so I will try to go from memory :)  My card is decorated inside and out - using LJ's fabulous mower image, some dsp I think from Barb, Tami's gorgeous white buttons, Carol's beautiful ribbons and forgive me for not having this all properly documented - I love it all, though!  You made me smile when it arrived, and I'm smiling again now at it's completion!!  I love you all, Dueling Darlins!

So here's my card!

Side view:  I just LOVE all the browns and blues and green hues!

Normally, we have an added part of the challenge to say something related to the card theme and if we had one this challenge, I surely missed it :)

In it's place, I would like to say how very dear this group of gals are to me!  We met on SCS a long while ago and bonded instantly in one (or two or three!) of the threads we are on, following each other through the swaps and posts!  I don't even remember how I came up with this crazy idea to have two teams of girls 'duel' card kits with a similiar topic but it sure is a blast every month, wondering what the hostess will come up with and stalking our mailboxes to see what it will behold! It's like Christmas - 8 months out of the year!  Each lady is so unique and beautiful and brings something so wonderful 'to the table' - from making me laugh, squeal & shiver (that would Debbie - she has a MAMMOTH tarantula in her house - is she not the BEST mom!!), they make me beam with pride when they share something wonderful ... the list goes on :)  God has truly blessed me with a tremendous group of ladies to call *friend*

(((((((( Group hug to the Dueling Darlings!  ))))))) I love you all!

Big hugs,

Bigger Blessings!
