Day 3: You are Sublime ...

Happy Wednesday!

It's day #3 in my summer series "5 days of ..."
and I'm swimming along with

The Alphabet Game!

I could not have been more excited to see today's :
the letter "L"!

I knew right away which company I would pick when I saw "L"
and I knew exactly the stamp set, too :)

My husband and I celebrated our 25th year of marriage
a couple of months ago (but together for 34!)
and I am absolutely, unequivocally as deeply in love with him
today as I was all those years ago.
He's truly the other half of what makes me whole ~
as a wife, a mom, as me ♥

And he EELY likes my cards!
LOL!
He's super supportive and encouraging and truly my biggest fan ♥
When I make him a card,
he keeps every. last. one!

I colored my Lawn Fawn  You are Sublime and die cut them
to create an underwater scene.
The background piece was created by using a simple sheet of white
cardstock and blending and blending and resting my elbows and blending
with a couple of distress oxide inks.
After adding a frame and the sentiment,
I popped up almost all of the cut-outs on 3d foam, added sequins
and some wink of stella in the submarine windows and the coral.

I had a sweet friend as me the other day if I still do the inside of my cards :)
The answer is:  yes!
I usually just don't show them anymore as I'm switching up
the way I do a few things on my blog ...  AND ....
because each card is specifically made for someone or
I give them away as part of my #yearofkindess,
I try to let that part be a surprise!

I tailored his card to fit the Lawn Fawnatics challenge this week
so I'll enter my card there!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Carriers of Faith ~ Showing Love ♥

Hi friends!
We're off for the weekend for some last moments of summer fun!
We sure wish summer could last all year long
but it's back to school soon ~ meh!

Today's card was fun to make :)
The Carriers of Faith have a wonderful theme this month
and our hostess is April!

Here's what she said:

August Challenge:
Since we post the day after my wedding anniversary, I would like everyone to make a project based on one of the scriptures read at my wedding:

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7   "Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."  Your card doesn't need to be based on a spousal love, and as such.   I would love to hear a story of one of your loves!

This verse was also in our wedding, too ♥

So, I had my husband in mind when creating my card.
He is the center of my world and one of the BEST men on the planet :)
He's my high school sweetie and here we are ...
30 years and 4 kids later!

For the card I made today,
I finally opened one of my new SU! Stamp sets "See Ya Later"
that I bought but hadn't had the chance to ink up.
I also wanted to emboss the sentiment, which says
"Once in a lifetime you meet someone
who changes everything."

So sweet!

I went with a Cherry Cobbler color
{our wedding color was *dusty rose* for my mom :)
but ohhhhh, I'm so NOT a pink girl!}
I found this card pattern on Pinterest
and fell in love with it, too,
and wanted to recreate it with my own spin ♥

I hope you are able to visit my COF sistahs, too!
You can find them listed in my sidebar!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

DDD - Celebrating 4 years together!

*If you are looking for my Cornish Heritage Farms post, please scroll down!*

Good Morning!
Today's the 15th of the month which means the Dueling Darlings
post our cards and this is a special post indeed!

It's our 4 year anniversary of posting card kits together!
What an incredible, blessed and fabulous journey it's been!
The day I dreamed up the idea for this group, I could not have imagined
how much it would enrich my life in friendship, crafting, laughing and more!
Thank you, each and every DDD member, for making this journey together
as beautiful as it's been ....
and here's to 4 (or lots!) more! ♥

Speaking of 4!!!
It just happens that I am the hostess for the Divas this round
and Jeanette is the hostess for the Dazzlers -- which means we chose a
theme for this month:

Birds of a Feather, Flock together!

In honor of the 4 years together, I chose a "Country Chic" theme and sent images, embellishments and papers to reflect that.
We challenged the girls to a little extra this month
(and after this, they are all probably leaving! LOL!)
We wanted them to show 4 things on their cards that are the same to mark our anniversary together.
Not ribbon, brads, flowers, paper = 4.
But 4 of the SAME thing.
Not easy to do!

I also chose a stamp set I've had for .... more than 4 years :)
It's a use an image that I’ve had for over 4 years as well for a little twist.
Taylored Expressions “Branching Out”, which is a set from special release w/ partial profits for the Eden Projects. The Eden’s Project’s Slogan is Plant Trees - Save Lives. They fight against deforestation and their organization recreates healthy forest systems not only through replanting/seeding but they also restore hope, alleviate suffering, empower communities and build local economies in impoverished areas}.
I sent along  a special stamp set to use:  a sheet of burlap - my newest love :)
If you have seen many of my posts, you'll see I have a slight love affair with it!
I asked them to incorporate it somewhere on their cards.

Whew, that was a lot to say!  LOL!
Now how 'bout a card!

I paper pieced my tree top on today's card - easy to do,
including if you don't have the actual stamp!
Just place the image into the copier and run your dsp through the printer
rather than copy paper- tada!
I fussy cut the tree and and the sweet birdies -- adding them to the tree.
I stamped onto the card instead of the inside (shocker!!)
to keep the weight of this card down - it will be mailed today :)

Did you see my burlap? It's there!
Peeking out as part of the ground - Tami would be so proud of me,
it's cut straight!  I've had lots of practice, lol!
And hopefully my "4" are visible - I just layer dew drops around the card.

And be sure to stop off and see what all the DDD
members have created for you today ~
you can find their blogs in my sidebar.

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Wishing you Loads of Love :)

Hi, everyone!
School started here and it's hard getting back into the routine,
Not to mention getting up at "dark thirty", as my dad use to say ;)

Here's a card I made for a card group I'm in, the SOTC.
Our hostess, April, asked us to make Anniversary cards in honor
of her upcoming anniversary and this was my take!
I have been striving this year to "use every stamp"
and finally inked up my "Loads of Love" stamp set.
I also used two different embossing folders, hearts (finally made it out of the package after 2.5 years! Gasp!) and my fave, Swiss dots!
Pretty simple overall but made with lots of love :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
~Kelly

We go together ....

like Salt 'n Pepper :)

20 years ago today, almost at this hour, I married my husband - the exact other half of me.  As I look back on this blessed day and reflect on our beautiful wedding day - I smile.  I smile because I know that on that day and each one since, we have had a life together that asks for nothing less than what it's been up to now.  A life of faith, 4 beautiful children, and a bond that after 29 years together {I think we had the world's longest dating/engagement} :) is still as strong today as it was then, if not stronger ~ although I do jokingly tell my husband he can stop taking the "in sickness and in health" part so literally :)
He's truly a rare gem of a man ~ with so much beauty in his soul, it's almost hard to imagine the depths of his love and I know that I am absolutely, unequivocally blessed.

Might I add, he's also one funny man, too.  Which comes in handy when you are married to a 'Dr. Phil' ~ he knows when that little bit of humor will unravel my attempt at being tough and unbreakable ;)   Many friends when we met that we could not be more different ~ like salt 'n pepper!   Naturally, I was inspired to create a quirky little card for my hubby with the sense of humor and amazing burst of love :)

Side view of the card

Here is the card inside, left blank :)

I followed the TAWS challenge to use a color photo for inspiration - lots of orange and blue (awesome Miami colors, too!) I inked up the stamps and sentiment from the TAWS Kitchen Gadgets 2 stamp set.  This card was a blast to put together.  I love creating cards with 1. lots of bursts of color and 2. using different elements for embellishments ... I'm such a tactile crafter and just love touching and rearranging all the things to go on the card.  It somehow ends up looking a little collage-y in the end, but it's such fun!
I used up some Basic Grey Lauderdale papers from a mat stack

Thanks for stopping by today!
I'll be entering this card into the TAWS Be Inspired #26
 challenge here!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
