Spot the Difference ~ My Favorites!

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!

The weather here is absolutely GORGEOUS! 

 Sunny, breezy, tropical, salt in the air ....  just perfect!  

Although I'm not one to enjoy the heat, the breezy temps are quite lovely!

I wish I could send you all some of my sunshine ♥

 This is my second installment of my new blog series:

Spot the Difference!

The premise is simple:

Take all the leftover crafty scraps or 'didn't-use-it-changed-my-mind'

pieces and create something with it!

These pieces were left from the holidays ~

intended originally to be Christmas cards :)

Two of my favorite things, 

aside from family and friends, of course .......

Starbucks!

And books!

 If I had to chose between one of the two?

Well, I'd still be standing in front of both! 

 I wouldn't do anything for a Klondike bar ...

but I'd do some pretty sketchy stuff for a Starbucks!

Just sayin' !

 

  

 I used Stamp Anniething for this round ~

these cute little stamps remind me of dolls.

And I love that they are right here in Florida - with me!

 I've used Kelly book (of COURSE!!)

and Felicity hello.
The sentiments are from different stamp sets of mine ~
Technique Tuesday (coffee) and My Favorite Things (reading).

 Felicity was also colored yesterday
 for the 9th day of coloring for The Daily Marker!
(Kelly was previously colored -

 I added her to this card I just made for the series)

 Can you SPOT the DIFFERENCE? :)

This was another fun installment of this series
and I'm having a fun time!
Now, it's time to snuggle with a 'Bux and a stack of borrowed library books!

Hi friends!

It's almost Valentine's Day!

There's so much love to celebrate ~

our special loves, friends and family.

 I'm the mom that loves the macaroni necklaces,

the painted rocks, the hand picked flowers from the yard ♥

For me, it's the small things!

 My husband is the absolute sweetest ..

no box of chocolate for me ~ he shows up with a Starbucks! :)

Since it's the 9th day of the month,  

the 3M card group posts our cards today.

This month, Jeanette is the hostess and sent us the darling image 

Roberto's Rascals Valentine's Henry from CC Designs.

I believe it's retired now ... I also own this and have had it for a good while,

thinking of a scrapbook page for my son.

That's still a work in progress (... 2 years later!) 

 I also used another one of my CC Designs sentiments sets

to include the stamped sentiment poetry on the inside :)

Celebrating the LOVE-ly Amethyst!

Good Morning, friends!

Do you know Unity Stamp Company?
Of course you do! :)

They are PRETTY AMAZING!

 I am SO SO SO excited to be a Growing in Unity Gal this year!

I wasn't expecting to be chosen,

so to see my name pulled for this year was quite joyous!

It will be later on in the year,

but you'll be seeing a lot of Unity cards all year long! ♥

 So!

Today, being the 7th of the month, means two things ...

It's Thursday ...

 (and I didn't even have to check my iPhone to see that!  Yay me!)

 1.  The CCEE Stampers post a card with a chosen theme of: amethyst! ✔️

2.  The Crafters of Faith hostess, Tracie, asked us to create a card
 with a theme of love in honor of her mom, whom just passed away.  
Tracie wants to remember mom with a love theme
 and use the scripture 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ✔️

My card is pulling double duty today!
I am re-creating the card that I made for my daughter for her baby shower.
Her favorite color just so happens to be purple,
but the original card was pinks - for my granddaughter, Alice!

I inked up Kendra Girl by Unity Stamp Company
and i. love. this. stamp!

It represents the wonders of being a mom, the expecting, the excitement ♥

The Library Card: Book 2!

Hello friends!

Are you coloring along with The Daily Marker 30 day?

I am loving what I'm seeing so far!

There are 28 days in February

so 28 days of fun and creativity!

This is my 2nd post for the 52 books of The Library Card!

It's a series I started this year combining my love of books with cards,

hence the name :)

 

With a minor in English Lit, we often listened to and study a lot of Shakespeare!

I often reminisce about the discussions and readings

and even a few reenactments!

Of course, I've also seen it as a stage production :)

Book 2! 

Much Ado About Nothing 

by William Shakespeare

 Much Ado About Nothing book synopsis:

 Don Pedro and his men return after a war to stay at Leonato’s house. Benedick continues a prickly relationship with Leonato’s niece, Beatrice. Both solemnly declare they will never marry. Claudio falls in love with Hero, Leonato’s daughter. Don Pedro agrees to woo Hero for Claudio, at a reception that evening. Don John, Pedro’s bastard brother, plots with his two men, Borachio and Conrade to do some wickedness.

At the party, Claudio is told by Don John that Pedro is wooing for himself, but Claudio soon learns that this is not so, and that Hero is his. Further antagonism between Beatrice and Benedick leads Pedro and the others to trick them into falling in love with each other. Leonato, Claudio and Don Pedro let Benedick overhear them speak of how much Beatrice loves him. Later, Hero and Maria let Beatrice overhear their talk about how much Benedick loves her. Both Benedick and Beatrice find they have feelings for each other, and appear love-struck to their friends. Meanwhile, Don John arranges for Borachio to woo Hero’s maid, Margaret, at Hero’s window. He informs Pedro and Claudio that Hero is going to be unfaithful that night, and arranges with them to be present. They see Borachio calling Margaret ‘Hero’, and are taken in.

The Watch, led by Dogberry and Verges, prepare to carry out their evening duties. Borachio is overheard telling Conrade about the plot, and they are arrested. Dogberry and Verges begin an interrogation, but the time of the wedding arrives before they can reach any conclusions. There, Claudio and Pedro reveal the ‘truth’ about Hero. She faints, and they leave. Don John flees the estate. Leonato harangues Hero, while she protests her innocence. The priest supports her, and suggests they pretend she has died until the truth is discovered. Beatrice and Benedick declare their feelings for each other, and Beatrice makes Benedick vow to kill Claudio for shaming Hero.

Leonato and Antonio offer to fight with Claudio, then learn the truth from the Watch. Dogberry and Verges bring Borachio and Conrade to confess before Claudio and Pedro, and Claudio begs forgiveness. Leonato demands that Claudio mourns Hero, and in recompense marries his brother’s daughter—who happens to look exactly like Hero. Claudio agrees, and at the ceremony encounters the real Hero when she is unveiled. Beatrice and Benedick stop denying each other and agree to be married. As they are all about to dance, they receive news of Don John’s capture.

 were inspired to start the challenge, too!

and now 2 more ~ my heart is beaming with happy!!

 Foxy is continuing his adventures and sending LOVE for February!

He's from the Warm Wishes stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps.

I started this series in January on this post,
and I chose this fox for many reasons,
including trying to create a different card/look each time ~
nothing cookie cutter and really branch out in my creativity!
And - he's wearing a turtleneck sweater!  
By July, I'll have to really be thinking! ♥

  

The sentiment is also from Honey Bee Stamps called Our Story (retired.) 

I bought the Honey Bee Stamps set Our Story for the beautiful sentiments

in the set but MOSTLY for this one.

It's a saying my husband and I have been saying to each other 

since we started dating ~ 36 years ago :)

Foxy is paired with the peek-a-boo die-namic from MFT Stamps

and colored him with prismacolor markers.

It's a little hard to see but the background panel is embossed 

with the Sizzix Polka Dots embossing folder for texture.

My sweet friend Sue posed a challenge recently and I've caught the

embossing folder bug again!

I made this card today ~ hence, getting this post up a little later.

It's been HECTIC here in our crazy

and crafting/cardmaking for me must.  be.  fun!

Oh friends, have you heard?

The Daily Marker has begun!

Being one of the Goodwill Ambassadors for this round,

 and this being my 5th year of coloring along with Kathy R's daily challenge,

AND this being one of my BIGGEST crafty goals I could ever hope for, 

I simply must say ...

color. color. COLOR!

It's a beautiful thing!

You can color a little, 
you can color a lot!
You can color just an image,
you can create a whole card :)

I've printed out a variety of my favorite stamp companies
(I could never chose just one!)
and I'll be posting a variety of stamps and coloring through-out February!
 
Today's card is the 'brother' to the one I posted yesterday.
Having a son brings back the fondest memories
of romping through mud puddles, splashing in the freshly fallen rain,
and playing in the yucky mud :) 

My son and I are very close 
and this Puddle Jumper stamp set from MFT Stamps makes me smile!
The sentiment is the same as yesterday, too - from Sending Blessings.
 One of the sweetest memories when I was creating this card:
I picked this sweet stamp set in person!

On my trip to MFT stamps in Eustis, Florida ...

CCEE1905: National Thank You Month!

There's a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers - 

celebrating National Thank You month!

Liz is the hostess for January and gave us this challenge: 

 It is National Thank You Month!

 So, before the month is over, make a thank you card, 

and send an unexpected thank you to someone
 whose small act of kindness has not gone unnoticed by you.

 

Here is my card for the challenge, using MFT Rain or Shine.

This is the card I've also created for the CYS Challenge group - 

to emboss and use it somewhere on the thank you card.

I used the thank you sentiment from MFT stamp Sending Blessings!

The embossing is the background from an old favorite:  Swiss dots!
