COF: Stars in the Night Sky!

Hello friends!

Wishing (upon a star) that you a great start to the new week!

My card today is for the Crafters of Faith card group
that I started a few years ago.
It was such a wonderful way to connect to cardmakers
on a christian, faith-filled level!

But - all good things often come to an end - and this will be my last card.

I have a few things on the horizon and am REALLY excited about it!
As they say, one door closes because another one opens :)

First, here is my card:

Our hostess this month is Jeanette and this is her challenge:

Scripture: Matthew 2:10 When they [the Wise Men] saw the star, they were overjoyed beyond measure.

Challenge: For this month’s challenge let’s add a star (or stars) to our cards/projects.

For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Super Star stamp and dies
and used the cute mice looking up into the night sky.
The big stars are from another set
My sweet granddaughter loves to go out with me every night
to look at the 'Moon and 'tars!'
It's like our special moment each evening :)

And that's my card for December!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings :)

Crafters of Faith: Fruit!

Hi friends!

Today's card is for the Crafters of Faith

card group where we create a cards

based on a theme and bible scripture :)

Our hostess this month is Dawn and this is her theme:

 September 2020: Hostess/Dawn

Scripture: John 15:1-8 KJV As it is the fall and a time of harvest,
consider the fruits you have grown this year through your thoughts,
 words and actions.

Challenge: Show case fruit on your card!

This was a very thought provoking theme for me

and I'm still thinking over fully.

But, like for most of you as well, 2020 has been choas!

I think it's so essential to take mental health time for whatever

makes you happy and brings you joy in the midst of this time :)

Here's my card using apples (masked) from The Alley Way Stamps

and a sweet sentiment from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping by and peeking at my card!

Big hugs, bigger blessings :)

Crafters of Faith: Isaiah 60:19

Happy Friday!

I hope your weekend is off to a good start!                                                    Today's card is fro the Crafters of Faith card group                                                            and our hostess this month is Liz.

We are making cards this month based on her challenge and scripture:

Isaiah 60:19 ~

The sun will no more be your light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,

for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

Thank you, Liz!
Her challenge, along with the scripture is to use radiant or sundials
on our cards somehow.

Thank you, Liz!

Her challenge, along with the scripture is to use radiant or sundials
on our cards somehow.
I used the MFT stencil die to create sunbeams
and this little cutie is off to the beach!
i used a snow hills die to mimic waves that she is standing in.

Here is the inside of the card:

One of my HAPPIEST places!
The beach!

I know this isn't the most spiritual card
but that isn't necessarily the only requirement of the group.
We are faith-filled, creative and talented cardmakers!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ...

COF: Take a risk!

Hi friends!

It's SO wonderful that the Crafters of Faith falls on a Sunday!
The COF is a little card group I started a couple of years ago
with faith-based challenges as a way to share fellowship with crafters

And I promise this is really my card!
I know it looks like something my little granddaughter scribbled :)

We take turns scooping up a month and issuing a challenge for the group
and this month our challenge is the talented Jeanette!

Her challenge:

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
has long been one of my favorite Bible verses because it reminds me that I can do things in God’s power. I do not need to be fearful. God will equip me.
For this month’s challenge, I’d like you to think of some paper-crafting technique, fold, or some other thing that you’ve been fearful of trying and let go of the fear and give it a try!

Okay, so back to the scribble!
I decided to try the scribble stamping and used the my Karin Brushmarkers Pro
again - only this time a little differently!
For the 'scribble stamping'
(and I may have made that up! I don't know if that's the actual name!)
I added colored on my glass craft mat and spritzed it with barely any water.
That way, the marker mostly stays the same and just wiggles a bit!
This process did take a bit of time ~ I did it in stages to keep colors separate.

I stamped Best Buds from Paper Smooches, one of my FAVORITE flower stamps,
this time on heavyweight cardstock and it held up super well to the water.

And here's the risky part!
I had to trust that flipping the stamped image onto the wet marker
would land more of less where that part of the image was, providing rich colors.
I did have to guess a little bit where it would end up!

This process was wildly fun!
Messy ~ but definitely creative play :)

The sentiment didn't get as much attention, I'm afraid!
It happened to be on my desk from a previous stamping session ~
rather than have it go to waste, I added it as a fun banner.

My daughter thought this card was hilariously wrong
and I'll admit, I'm a little afraid to post it.
I realize it looks like kid's scribble ~ and that's kinda the idea!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings

Crafters of Faith: Friendship!

Hi again!

I'm playing 'catch up' with my cards ~
I colored the images for The Daily Marker challenge
and had to set them aside each night until I could create a card ♥

Today's card is for the Crafters of Faith card group,
a faith based card group I created on Splitcoaststampers
as a way to connect to other christian crafters.

Each month, we take turns chosing a scripture and a theme.
Tracie is the hostess for April and she chose a theme of friendship!

Proverbs 27:9 A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.

 For my card this month,
I've used My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Crafty Friends.
I've had this stamp for forever and it's just been re-released from the vault.
That's what I love so much about MFT Stamps ~
if you love one, give it a little bit - it will come back around! ♥

In this time of social distancing and staying indoors, and away from, Covid19,
many of us friends are
zooming, skyping, texting, and cardmaking more than ever!
That's the beautiful gift of crafting ~
we can do it with friends near and far, side by side with family or online :)

I'm also playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers ~
and I chose a sweet little fabric as my spring board.
If you are an SCS member, you can find the challenge in the IC thread ♥
I've used the fun paper pad from Pink and Main for my paper choice
and used a small bit to paper piece her little shirt, too.

At the time of year, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus,
I've much to be thankful for.
As choatic as it's been for our family,
I am grateful that we have our health and each other.

Be well, friends and stay safe!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

COF: Sending Love ♥

Hello friends!

I hope your weekend if off to a good start!
I was up early and drove to a beautiful part of the Florida everglades ~

how magnificent!
God definitely was in a painting mood when He created
the South Florida sunrises ♥

Today's card is for the Crafters of Faith card group
where Sue's theme is to create a card showing how you
shine your light for God.

I chose to use a beautiful stamp called Happy Mail
that I won from Taylored Expressions giveaway!
It was a win from their Send a Card to a Friend Day link up!

The direction I chose to go wasn't a literal 'shining light'
but more of the quiet, behind the scenes card.

For me, it's working with the youth ministry at church
and making cards for shut ins and having cards on hand for the elderly
to grab and fill out and mail to their loved ones ♥
I stamped the large flower line from Happy Mail and colored it with
my prismacolor markers, and did the same for the sentiment
from the stamp set Snail Mail.

The prize pack was so huge and so full of wonderful goodies!
I'm so happy to have won and will be making cards upon cards ♥
I love that these sets can be added to your MISTI or stamping platform
and just make a card assembly - and make more to share!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Crafters of Faith: Skyline!

Hi friends!

Sending you SMILES
  across the MILES! :)

Today's card is for the Crafters of Faith card group,
a faith based group on Splitcoaststampers.
Our hostess this month is Jen
and she's given us this lovely scripture and theme:

Scripture: I've chosen part of the scripture that I read at my Gram's funeral this April.
It will always have special meaning to me.
Revelation 21:2-3 "I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem,,
coming down out of heaven from God..."
Challenge: is to use a cityscape or some other landscape on your card.

My card was made Paper Smooches Sweet Escape.
I love this stamp set!
I stamped the cityscape on cardstock, die cut and then colored it
with prismacolor markers in cool tones.
I repeated the same with the clouds and the bird ~
and stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base.
Using Scrapbook Adhesives foam and ez runner,
I glued the base and popped up the city/bird/clouds!

The colors are based on our recent vacation ~
we saw a lot of blues and greens in the skies and ocean!

This card will be for the Paper Smooches WORDS challenge ~
and the skyline reminds me of sending her to college with the big city background!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

COF: Butterfly Kisses :)

Hi friends!

Fluttering by with a hi!
I couldn't be more excited that it is officially summer!
It's so wonderful to have carefree summer days,
not driving back and forth (and back and forth!) to school
and having a schedule that's much. more. relaxed!

My card is for the Crafters of Faith card group
and it's the first card I've made in almost 2 weeks :/
We have a wonderful theme from our hostess, Michelle:

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Challenge: Keeping it simple with "feature butterflies on your project". I know how the summer months can be!
And butterflies have always been a favorite of mine.

I used Butterfly Kisses from Lawn Fawn to include butterflies on my card,
with tumbled glass distress oxide ink.
I also used my much loved and used hills die from Pink and Main
 (these dies are PINK!)
to complete the sweet and scenic look.

This set is just SO SO cute ~ I can see a lot of cards ahead with it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

COF: Live life to the fullest!

 Hello again!

Today is the day the Crafters of Faith group post our cards
based on a scripture and a challenge.

One of my bestie's, Barb, is the hostess for this month's challenge.
She writes:

Challenge: It is about Living Life to the Fullest:  Please make a creation that expresses how you live your life to the fullest or illustrates something you plan or wish for in the future.
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Oh, this topic had me pondering of which stamp to use!
Living life to the fullest to me is incorporating my love of family, friends ...
then there's is the all-fulfilling church,
and we, as a family, love to travel and vacation together.
But that's sort of a given (for me) ..
things that are naturally meant for me.

So to really step outside my comfort zone,
to be bold,
to take healthy risks,
to take chances
to LIVE ....

now that was my a-hah moment!

In the theme of living life to the fullest,
I have a personal mantra.

It always includes 3 things ...
always,
always,
ALWAYS!

I would tell my kids every single morning, without fail ...
1.  I love you
2.  Make today count
3. Be kind.  To someone.  Anyone.  Including yourself!

And I start repeating those words through-out my day,
whispered from my lips to my own ears ♥

Back to my card!

I absolutely LOVE the September Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Co!
It's the September KOM 9-16 called Moments Between Moments.
I remembered
 that. one. little. sentiment
from this kit and paired it with the camera girl stamp.
In fact, I loved it so much - I made 3 cards!
This is the first in the series -
I'll show you the other 2 next week :)
This one is very simple, a CAS card, inside and out
but I was focusing mainly on the sentiment as the focal point.

The card group, if you are on Splitcoaststampers,
is open for anyone to join!
We make a card once a month and just generally chat in between the posting :)
We'd love to have you!

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Celebrating the LOVE-ly Amethyst!

Good Morning, friends!

Do you know Unity Stamp Company?
Of course you do! :)
They are PRETTY AMAZING!
I am SO SO SO excited to be a Growing in Unity Gal this year!
I wasn't expecting to be chosen,
so to see my name pulled for this year was quite joyous!
It will be later on in the year,
but you'll be seeing a lot of Unity cards all year long! ♥

 So!
Today, being the 7th of the month, means two things ...

It's Thursday ...
(and I didn't even have to check my iPhone to see that!  Yay me!)
 1.  The CCEE Stampers post a card with a chosen theme of: amethyst! ✔️

2.  The Crafters of Faith hostess, Tracie, asked us to create a card
with a theme of love in honor of her mom, whom just passed away.
Tracie wants to remember mom with a love theme
and use the scripture 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ✔️

My card is pulling double duty today!
I am re-creating the card that I made for my daughter for her baby shower.
Her favorite color just so happens to be purple,
but the original card was pinks - for my granddaughter, Alice!

I inked up Kendra Girl by Unity Stamp Company
and i. love. this. stamp!

It represents the wonders of being a mom, the expecting, the excitement

You can see all of the CCEE Stampers cards here on the blog.
Remember, there is a link up button at the bottom of the post ~
if you want to link up your amethyst cards!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

New blog series: 5 days of ... (Day 1)

Hi friends!

Today's the day!  Today's the day!
It's Day 1 of my summer blog series kick-off and I'm really excited ♥
For the next 3 weeks, Monday-Friday,
I'll be sharing a summer series of cards that I call  "5 days of ..."
Each week, the theme will be a surprise until each Monday's reveal, like today :)

So in addition to creating 5 new cards a week,
I hope this will be a chance to get to see more in depth views of
my crafting style and creating in the spirit of inspiration and sharing!
From different techniques to tried 'n true,
from my had-to-have-it to the what-was-I-thinking,
I hope to cover a little bit of something that will be fun!

And!
For hanging out with me during this (hot!) summer series,
I have a coordinating giveaway!
Yay!
(*see details below)

This week's summer cards series theme is:

The Alphabet Game!

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 - A, B, C to make a card with just one letter!
I used random.org letter generator and the letter W
was the lucky letter for my first card.
Ohhhh!  I have a couple of stamps/sets that start with W.
Since the purpose of the series is for me to do something differently,
it had to be a stamp/set that I hadn't used before!
My sweet little Wplus9 stamp/die set called the Get Well Gang
was the perfect choice since I needed to make a card for the Crafters of Faith.
I saw it, bought it, and poor thing hasn't made it out of the box .. until now!
I chose this particular stamp set because our cards were based on
a scripture of Psalm 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart"
I was inspired to create a card of healing and faith pulling me
through my husband's recent emergency surgery and hospitalization.
Indeed I felt His presence and love during a time of trial and trusting in His will
has to be automatic ♥

It was also hard to resist those cute little critters
and the darling doctor and patient, mice and get well cheese!

Day 1 - check!
W = get WELL with Wplus9!

It's a good thing random.org is exactly that ~
After W is X and I'd be scratching my head trying to figure that out, LOL!

I hope to see you tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly
