CCEE1909: Tooth Fairy Day!

Hi friends!

Peter Pan said "All you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust!"
I believe him :)

There's a new challenge over at the CCEE Stampers Challenge blog.
Our hostess for February was Maryann
and she shares her last challenge for the month:
"According to the days of the year calendar today is tooth fairy day.
Make a card and include a fairy."

How sweet!

I colored the sweet fairy this afternoon after a LONG day set building
and painting and completing props for my son's upcoming Drama show
at his middle school.

And here is my full fairy card ↓

The background piece is created from a die from the Hero Arts May 2018 kit,
and pink sparkly cardstock was centered underneath.
I've colored the Swiss Pixie Ima Butterfly with my copic markers and added some Wink of Stella to her wings and signo white gel pen on her little boots and bows.
I'll be the hostess for the month of March!
I have 4 new exciting themes coming up
and can't wait to share them with you ♥

You can see the DT fairy cards on the CCEE blog here
and they are oh. so. adorable!
 Thanks for your visit today!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Gnome is where the heart is ♥

Hi friends!

I'm here ... hanging with my gnomies! :)

Are you playing along with Kathy Rac's the daily marker coloring challenge?
This month is almost over but it's several times a year ~
and you can jump in anytime.
Color as much, including full cards,
or color a little, like a image or two and save them for another day!
The idea is to color something a little bit each day and keep the creativity going ♥

I am SO BEYOND BLESSED to be one of her Goodwill Ambassador's
this time around and have loved zipping around
on social media seeing all the colorings and sprinkling love!
You can find me most of the time on Instagram ~ there is a #thedailymarker30day hashtag you can use to your colored images.

This was the card I made for yesterday's coloring -
the card was remnants left on my craft desk
and part of an upcoming blog post .. stay tuned!
It's exciting!

I've used Stampingbella stamp called Gnome on a Swing
and colored it with my prismacolor markers.
The sentiment didn't fit onto this card base so I switched it
with one from Avery Elle stamps.

Here is where you can learn more about the 30 day coloring challenge!

                                This is me!

Thanks for your visit today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Hey, good lookin' ... whatcha got cookin' ?!

Hi friends and hello Monday!

In church, pastor tells us without fail each and every week
"Look to the persons beside you.
Shake hands, introduce yourself and say hello!"

It's always funny because everyone in the pews sits with their loved ones :)
So we stretch way across and shake hands with everyone
within a 20 people radius of us.
It often looks like we are playing a game of human twister!
There are always smiles and laughter and warm greetings :)

And that's the same blessing I give to you all today!
I think all of you are The Gratest

Today I have a set of 2 cards once again
by The Project Bin stamps.
I love being on the Design Team for The Project Bin
because of Denise's innovative and unique stamps ...
like this set called The Gratest (spelled as such!)

I used the grater and the spatula to create these two 'punny' cards:

For both of these cards, I used Fun Stampers Journey cardstock as a base.
These gorgeous background papers from Bo Bunny + are so rich and vibrant!
I decided let leave the images uncolored to pop against the bold papers
and added the matching sentiment to each coordinating stamp,
which I outlined with my Brother Scan N Cut.
Many of The Project Bin's stamps come with matching dies.
While this set does not, they are easy to fussy cut!

There are so many possibilities with this fun stamp set
and I hope you like the 2 ways I've shown you here today.

We are a busy family of 8!
Our kitchen is one of the most crowded - and happiest - rooms in our home
and someone is always cooking :)
Grandma always said food = love ♥

Here is the stamp set

We have an inspiration blog where you can see the DT cards each week day:

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hi! You're going places!

Happy weekend, friends!

Waving an excited hello to my new blog followers!
I appreciate you!
I'm so grateful for the friendship and support you have shown me!
Truly it is a blessing and the gratitude I have makes my heart smile ♥
It's been a wonderfully busy family weekend
but I promise to visit you, too!

I've been coloring each day for the Daily Marker Coloring Challenge.
Yesterday I colored the pink balloon and cute critters and set it aside,
and when we got home today, made another in blue!

 Here's the pink one:

 And the blue one!

I colored these with a combination of copics and promarkers.
The pink one is sharing a little birthday cupcakes
and the second one has a little present :)

The stamp set is using W Plus 9 "Going Places"
stamps and dies,
and the rest of the card is using various dies that I own.

Thanks so much for visiting today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

RSG: Start Spreading the News!

Hello friends!

This was a wild and crazy wonderful Wednesday!
Thank you SO MUCH to my new blog followers!
I'm so blessed you found me ♥

On the 3rd Wednesday of every month, my 2 friends and I
(Barb and Jeanette) create cards with a theme that out of the box.
It's called the Ready, Set, Go! Challenge ~
and this month, I'm the hostess.

For the February Ready, Set, Go Challenge,
I am channeling my son's recent trip to New York ♥

While he was gone, I kept singing "New York New York ...." by Sinatra,
especially the line start spreading the news ....
and I thought "Oh yes, that's something we haven't done before ...
play with newspaper!"

The challenge: to use newspaper somewhere on the card .... literally!
  (haha, no pun intended!)
Use a small or large piece but it should be the main focus
when we see your card and say "Oh, newspaper!"  on your card!

For my newspaper element, I created a backdrop of New York City,
where he went!
They spent a week exploring the city ~ flying from Miami to NYC!
They saw - and did - and ate - and experienced just about everything!
I asked him his favorite part?
"Missing school for a week!"
I guess at 14, that might be my answer, too :)
I've used a stamp set from MFT called Our Story
to represent my son and the 'school' aspect - although this trip was all play!
He earned it through his hard work and dedication to school,
very high grades and sweet disposition ♥
To add a little fun and the winter theme and the snow he was in,
I added the fun penguin and sentiment from another MFT set, Cooler with You.
He indeed makes life more fun!

And that's it for me today!
Thanks for your visit today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Let a stencil be your guide!

Hi friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

I wanted to share a card with you that I made today
with a stenciled piece that I made almost a year ago!
February 27 to be exact :)

The colorful stenciled piece has been sitting in a bin on my desk
under some other things and I found it today.
It was time to let this beauty make it's way onto a card!
No time like the present! ♥

The fun thing about this is ......
aside from being super simple and super clean (easy, one layer!)
is that it was made using a stencil from a notebook!

I found these little sprial notebooks in the .99c store
and picked up a few with different ones seeing as how
the cover is plastic (easy clean up!)
and they had super geometric designs (very cool!)

 Here's one of them:

 To create this simple card,
I first layered a piece of white cardstock under the notebook "stencil".
Using my distress ink cubes
(wild honey, worn lipstick, crushed olive and broken china),
and my Ranger ink mini blending tool.

It's best to let these panels set after distressing (especially oxide inks!)
and mine definitely dried - for a year! LOL!
I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a die and created the shape,
added a sentiment from an MFT stamps set
and set it to black cardstock to offset the colors.

Here are a couple at a glance:

It's always fun to be creative when doing art!
These notebooks with the spiral paper drew me in with the shapes
and I instantly thought of stenciling!

What creative things have you found?
There are so many ways to be creative with DIY projects!
You can look around your home
and find all sorts of wonderful items to use in your crafty supplies.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings! ♥

You are all so very PURR-fect!

Hello friends!

Thank you so much to my wonderful blogging friends
and my new blogger friends, too!
I {heart!} you!
Your support and friendship makes the crafting community a beautiful place!

A few have asked how to follow!
Right over there!
Again, many MANY thanks!
You. are. PURRfect!

How is your coloring for The Daily Marker coming along?
We're up to day 18!
February, being a short month, leads us up to 28 days
so we're about 2/3 into coloring wonderment ♥

This is the card I made for today's coloring
using the CAS challenge on Splitcoaststampers - use 1/3 of your space.
If you look at the A2 size card front, take 2/3 away
and that's your creative space :)
What a fun technique!
I'll definitely be using this again!

The sentiment to match is from The Project Bin ~
I chose one that was small, long and skinny to match the line of the paper decor.
And that's it -   clean and simple but cute and sweet! ♥

And with 1/3 of the paper
and 2/3 of the way into the challenge,
it sounds like we are in math class!
LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!
May your day be PURR-fect in every way!

Remember to color a little,
color a lot ....
make a card or just some creative time
~ just color and have fun!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

TPB: You're on my favorites list!

Hello, sweet friends!

My children have the day off from school/college
so it's nice to enjoy a Monday morning NOT stuck in gridlock traffic! :)
Something to be grateful for ♥

Speaking of grateful, thank you to my blog followers!
That is such a blessing to me!
Each of you are definitely on my favorite's list!

This thumbs up is one of the stamps in the newest The Project Bin stamps ~
it's called The Gratest.
It's a fun play on words in this super pun-ny stamp set!
For most of us, we use social media to connect to family, friends, loved ones.
The easiest way for us to all stay connection:
places like Facebook, of course!

When I saw this thumbs up 'favorites list' stamp, my first impression
was  ... that's like my top 10 most used emojis!
My top most used emoji ...
the praying hands, followed by the heart eyes ♥♥
How about you?!

I chose to use it with this beautiful family paper ~
listing all of the special people that are/were in our lives
that we most likely stay connected to.

And I'm so glad to have a blog to connect with all of you!
You're DEFINITELY on my favorites list!

Here is the stamp set in it's entirety in the shop
and you can follow along with the blog for daily inspiration!

Thank you so much for being a follower!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

The Library Card: Book 3!

Hello friends!

I hope your weekend is going well!
This is my 3rd post (but not 3rd card!) for The Library Card,
a blog series combining my love of books and Starbucks and card-making!

Oh, how I love my Unity Stamps ~
and am SO EXCITED to be a Growing in Unity girl this year!
It's a long way until November, but so worth the wait :)

For today's library read, I've decided to create a card
on a book that was recently loaned to me.
I oogled it when it came out and hit the bookstores,
and was happy to sit and actually read it and peruse the beautiful pictures
and note some recipes.
And Reese has a book club!
Say. No. More!

Today's library selection:

Whiskey in a Teacup
by Reese Witherspoon

Book Cover:

My card:

I've been organizing my Unity Stamp Co collection by theme ~
and found I have a lot of coffee themed stamps!
(I have a lot of coffee themed stamps of every kind, really!)
I decided to use Kimmie Girl for this book cover ♥

For my card, I created a base using designer paper
and stamping Kimmie right onto the cardstock.
After die cutting the image and the matching sentiment,
I arranged the card to fit onto the card and added some buttons.
(And pssst!  Kimmie is on sale this week!)

 My favorite quote
"I don't have a ton of free time, so when it comes to short cuts and good-enough-ing, I have been there and store-bought that."

It's fun to have another book in The Library Card shelf! :)

I have a few more books checked out ~
I wonder what I'll read next?!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

DDD: Pawsitively awesome

 Happy Fri-yay!

Today is the 15th of the month ~
that means the Dueling Darling post our cards from the kits we received
from the hostesses.
Barb was the hostess for the Divas for February,
Tracies for the Dazzlers!

And their theme has me HOWL-ing!
It's all about the doggies!
Be. Still. My. Heart!

Barb's kit included the Whipper Snapper image:  Triple Dog Dare
and a variety of really cute papers.
My kit didn't have a sentiment so I added one
that fit perfectly ~ from My Favorite Things ♥

I've used one of my favorite My Favorite Things dies ~
the stitched mod rectangle STAX ~
to create the background panel.
I've used it a couple times before (isn't it grand!)
and truthfully, I pay a small fortune for my dies
so I try to use them as often as a I can ♥
The other panels are cut with a stitched die and added in a wonky shape,
and then I added the sentiment.

Here is the inside of my card:

You can see what the Divas -vs- Dazzlers created
with this theme on the master list here at Splitcoaststampers!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
