Mission Possible ~ Take 2

Hi friends!

I hope today you're having a marvelous start to Sunday!
And if you look around,
and happen to see my mojo,
please send it back home!
I'm so absolutely not mojo-vated to make cards right now
and that's NO BUENO!

A busy household can make for a creative slump!

Today's card is for the Mission Possible challenge,
a fun cardmaking idea started by my friend, Jeanette.
I'm grateful that she invited me to play along with her in this fabulous idea
making the impossible mission possible!

The idea?
Jeanette buys - or finds -  3 of 'something' quarterly ~
and sends that item to Barb, myself (and keeps one for herself!)
Then, the 3 of us create a card based on said mystery item.

This month:  A rubber stamp sentiment!
Here is her super fun Mission Possible challenge:

Good Day, Ms. Card-Maker. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves the use of a substance that will be revealed to you upon opening this package. Two team members have been selected to work with you, I am one of them and the other one will be revealed within a reasonable timespan. She is an equally talented card-maker who, like you, will be given the opportunity to accept or decline this mission. Should you choose to accept the mission, you have a month to complete it, in which case at some point within the next month you will create a card using the enclosed substance on it and post it somewhere in a public forum (blog, gallery, FB, Instagram, or such). The theme of the card can be any of your choosing; the only requirement is that the substance be used in some way. Should you or any of the other two team members get caught with the substance on your fingers or clothing, laughter is sure to ensue. And Ms. Card-Maker, those laughing will disavow any responsibility for their laughter.
This message will not self-destruct in five seconds, since I have no ability to do that and besides, you might need to refer to it again at some point.

She sent us this sweet sentiment stamp from Whipper Snapper.
I paired it with a stamp from Simon Says Stamp
which I stamped and colored with prismacolor markers.
Once it was done, I nestled it behind the frame and added purple papers.
This sentiment is so very sweet.
I love that Jeanette thought of us when she purchased ot
and even more generous to send it!
Thanks, Jeanette!

You can see her card here and Barb's card here.

And here's a sweet reminder for all!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings!

GNOME matter what ...

 Hi friends!

GNOME matter what, you are special!
We are in the midst of some crazy times,
but hang in there!

I didn't realize when I cropped this picture that it says the words ...

Calm?
Me?
What?

LOL!

One of the highlights of my trip to Wisconsin in January 2018
was visiting the Creative Pals stamp store ~
 home of Whipper Snapper Designs.
It was wall to wall F*U*N!
I came home with more stamps than clothes in my luggage but shhhhh ...
don't tell anyone :)

I recently placed an order last week 'just because'
and added some long wished for stamps to my collection - like this one!
I absolutely adore Gnorbitt and think he might be my favorite gnome!

I usually color primarily with prismacolor markers
so I'm still learning how to use my copic markers to blend and layer.
I also used the 'leave some white space' that I learned in Kathy Rac's
online creative classroom and have to say - I like it!
It gives it a little more depth - and character :)

I've actually stamped him several times for the Daily Marker 30 Day
coloring challenge and will eventually color him again and make more cards.

For now, this is card #2 using the same 6 x 6 designer paper sheet
in my quest to use that one sheet in a creative way.
The first card was this one from Saturday!

Gnome matter what - keep calm!

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

3M: Whooooo is awesome?

Youuuuu are awesome!

Hiya friends!
 Are you a night owl?!

I am :)

It's when I do my best creating!
(though sometimes when that alarms clock goes off - ouch!)

Today's the day that the 3M posts our cards
with an image sent to us by the hostess for the month.
Barb sent us the image for us to use
and chose these crazy party owls!

For my card, I had a vision of owls snuggled into their woodland tree
during the night.
I used Lawn Fawn's Knock on Wood designer paper as my card base
and created a cut out for the night sky backdrop to peek through.
The sky was created using Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean distress inks
and blended together.
In hindsight, I should have used darker colors
but WHOOOO knew! :)

I've added the matching sentiment "wanna party?" to the inside
of the card ~ can't show that yet!

You can see Barb's card here and Jeanette's card here
that they've created with this same image.

                                                           This is me!

 Fun Facts!

Did you know ....
There are almost 200 different species of owls,
a group of owls is called a parliament,
and they can rotate their heads nearly 270 degrees!

That's pretty OWL-some!

Thank you for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

3M ~ Friendship!

Hi franz!

(thanks, Barb, for that!)

I've been blessed to live all over the world,
but I was born in the south ...
so I'm claiming that auto-correct text typo greeting! :)

Today is the day we 3Mer's post our cards with a mystery image.
This month, I was the hostess and sent this cah-ute!!! image
called Group of Friends from Whipper Snapper ♥
This darling stamp is one (of many) I picked up at Creative Pals
while on the gal pal trip to Wisconsin :)
Barb lead Carol, Shelly, Terry, herself and I into Creative Pals
and that register didn't stop Cha-chinging!
  LOL!

I also bought a few single loose sentiments
and I thought this one was a good match ...
 friendship truly warms the heart!

Since I added the sentiment to the front,
the inside is a little plain
but it did have a hand-written note to the person it was mailed to :)

You can see Barb's card here
and Jeanette's cards here ~
and we'll be back next month on the 9th with another mystery image reveal.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Big hugs, bigger blessings!

F.Y.I #2 ~ Wonky cake :)

Hi friends and happy weekend!

As you may remember from this post, I have a new segment this year called Find Your Inspiration! (F.Y.I.)

This is actually post #4, but after I looked for the others, I realized I never launched them!
So I'm rearranging a few blog posts and now #4 is #2 - LOL!

I'm in a fun group on Splitcoaststampers called the Creative Card Chicks.
This month, our hostess Barb, sent us a super cute card kit
including this wonky cake image from Whipper Snapper stamps.

Which I was SUPER giddy to see because when I went to visit
the crafty gals at camp, we stopped by Creative Pals which is a store
that's wall to wall whipper snapper (and more) stamps!
What a fun store!!

But more than just the fun store and great card kit,
the minute I saw the image, I was immediately brought back to
my oldest daughter's Sweet 16 ♥
She's now 23 and engaged to be married and So. Grown. Up!
When we were planning her party,
she told me of a cake she designed and it was bright and neon
and 'sort of wonky.'
When we explained her vision to the cake maker,
she smiled and said "not a problem, I can do wonky!"
And she did!
Her cake was a vision and EXACTLY what she drew up and described!

See! ↓

I actually couldn't find the photo in my seperate hard-drive photo
and colored the image on my card from memory!
Once we hooked that up to find these 7 year old photos,
I was so excited that I ALMOST got it right :)

Here's my card, which is a two-fer:
Creative Card Chicks kit
CYS January challenge per Jeanette
 - Use 3 pieces of patterned paper on your card:

Thanks, Barb, for your wonderful kit and the walk down memory lane :)

Have a great weekend, friends!
I hope something inspires you today ♥

Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

3M: You're a rare bird!

Hello there, friends!

What do you get if a chicken lays an egg on top of a barn?
..... an eggroll!  :)
My son loves to tell me jokes all day long ~ how fitting for today's card!

Today I scrambled - haha - get it?!
to get this chicken card photographed
and on the blog since it's the 9th.
3M was created by Jeanette and includes her, Barb and myself,
and we take turns sending out an image of choice.
This month's image was sent by Barb.

The image is from Whipper Snapper Stamps,
and it's called Spreading the News.
I colored it with prismacolor markers
and all the cardstock and dsp is from my scrap bin pile.

The sentiment inside is one from my stamp stash ~
I thought it was quite fitting :)

I'll be back in a few hours with another card ... stay tuned!
If we're lucky,
I'll have a few more jokes, too - ROFL!!!

You can see Barb's card here and Jeanette's card here.
That's us, and this is me ↓

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥
~Kelly

I'll enter my card into:  Crafty creations - anything goes
 Sunny day Crafting - flowers
2 crafty critter crazies - animals

CCEE1730 ~ Walk on Stilts Day!

Happy Walk on Stilts Day!

How.  fun.  is.  that!
Maryann of the CCEE Stampers DT asked us to make a tall, thin card
for challenge #1730 in honor of this unusually fun day.

What a clever idea for a card :)
My card measures 6.75 x 3.25 ~ both tall and thin.
I stamped this darling Whipper Snapper image,
Beary Special Birthday ,
colored with my prismacolor markers.

I chose this image because it's a pretty large stamp.
I remember using this on A2 size cards and it reached end to end :)
Here, it fits nicely on a taller card and with room to spare.

The sentiment is from High Hopes rubber stamps
and it's been in my collection for 7-8 years ~
and this is the first time it's seen ink!
The inside is blank with a little patterned paper
to compliment the front.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers Inspiration blog
to see what the other DT members made for
"Walk on Stilts Day!"

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

CYS: I prayed for you ♥

Hi friends!
Happy Saturday!

I got in earlier from trail walking with our pups ....
it's SO hot here in South Florida :(
We didn't last as long as I thought we would - the heat was just unbearable.
  And it's only April!

Today's card is one that I made a couple of days ago
for the Challenge Your Stash (CYS) March card.
It's a group of friends on Splitcoaststampers
where you use everything in your existing stash to create cards with a theme!
No new products are allowed, hence, pulling from what you own :)

Shelly is the hostess this month and
challenged us to make a card using this theme:
A sympathy theme in honor of her father, the color green,
and 3 embellishments of our choice.

I went with a nontraditional sympathy card,
using this sweet little praying boy Chase from Whipper Snapper Designs
I can't remember where the sentiment is from -
it's a small acrylic stamp that fell out of it's set, but it was a perfect fit!

Thanks for stopping by today!
