CCEE ~ Happiness shared is a flower ...

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower." ~ John Harrigan

Hi friends!

It's that time of the week where the CCEE Stampers create a card
using the theme from our August hostess, Frances, who said:

It's Frances here once again to bring you the last challenge for August.
In my part of the world (Australia), Saturday is the first day of Spring ....
Flowers are beautiful at any time of the year so for our challenge
this week we are to add some flowers to our card.

Such a pretty theme!
I have been seeing a lot of fall themed cards popping up on blogs and card galleries
so a burst of fresh, colorful flowers is so inviting!

I was so blessed to receive this for being a Growing In Unity girl back in January ~
so very kind and generous of Unity - thank you! ♥

Truthfully, it's been a bad week.
I've been really sick, everything else has been going wrong
and I'm just out of energy, mojo, creativity.

Creating this card - this sentiment - has really put it in perspective.
Not all days are going to be our best,
but not all days are going to be our worst.
I have to cherish the in between, too :)

You can see the blossoming garden of flowers for this challenge
over at the CCEE blog here
as well as a link to add your own cards should you chose to play along!

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings ♥

Abide - Plain Jane (1)

Hello friends!
I see so many of you are getting lots of snow and freezing temps
 ~ bundle up, stay warm!

You may remember my post on daydreaming in church
discovering my word of the year ~ Abide ♥
I'm committed to spending time this year digging deeper into God's word
and observing all things that will draw me closer to Him.

In just this one little week into the new year,
I'm learning abide is more than just being obedient.
It's also to be dutiful,
finding strength and grace along the way.

I heard a phrase too often this holiday season ...
"It's not enough. It's too plain!"

Plain.
Oddly, this word is comforting to me.
It's a word that doesn't beg.
It doesn't boast.
It's just ... average.

They say a Plain Jane is a woman with an average appearance.
But it also means an object that is unadorned or unembellished.

And here's the beauty in that.
Plain allows for growth, enrichment, revelry.
It also often includes doing things for others,
even in the smallest measurements.

Smile at someone.  Wave hello.  Give a compliment.
Say a kind word.  Hold open a door.
There is no monetary value to live in a moment of absolute grace.

I made a humble set of cards,
created to share with people I don't even know.
I already know where they will be delivered ♥

They are plain.
But they are equally bold.
See that sentiment right there on the front?
Three  little words.

To me, that says enough.

I'm just a plain jane.
Just like my handful of humble cards.
But I'm living in God's word and that's a great start!

Thanks for your visit today :)
Big hugs, bigger blessings!

Hey, You!

  Yes ... you!
 How are ya?!

:)

That's actually the name of the Basic Grey mat stack that I used
to create today's card - "Hey You!"
It's also new card challenge time at Riley and Company stamps ...
this week, our hostess is Heather and she's asked us to paper piece!
My very, very favorite technique in crafting ♥

Today's card is sunny, cheerful, SIMPLE!
I've used Sunflower Riley for today's card,
paper-piecing the flower :)
It's not quite the card I was aiming for or the design I saw in my head *smile!*
but I was thrilled to use up so many of the paper scraps in my bin.

We'd love for you to play along, of course!
You can link up your Riley and Company cards using any of
the stamps carried in the store to the challenge blog here!
If you use a gallery, please use the keyword Riley0415  ~
we'll stop by and leave some love ♥

I hope you have a great day &
thanks so much for stopping by!

Big Hugs, Bigger Blessings!
