GNOME for Christmas!

Hi friends!

Our home has been bustling and busy and OH SO FUN

with all the kids/signficant others ~ 

lots of food, laughs and memories made!

This mama's heart is full and we are truly blessed <3

But I can share my newest card feauturing Whimsy Stamps

Gnome for the Holidays!

 

To create this adorable little winter scene,

I stamped/die cut and colored the gnome.

I added a background of a winter snowy scene with the 

Mountain Majesty die set.

  One more holiday card done!

I'll be Gnome for Christmas!

 Hey friends!

Dashing by with a quick hi and an even quicker card to make 

~ clean and simple!

 My friend Brennan had a challenge for a One Layer Christmas Card 

~ yikes!  I don't do one layer very well often 

so this was a LEAP outside the box!

I settled on the adorable Gnome for the Holidays from Whimsy Stamps 

and I let the whismical colors and MERRY letters be the stars :)

Here's the really skinny side view!

Life is settling down to quieter moments here with the storm leaving,

birthday girl is officially 6 and 

tomorrow The Kid and I are heading to his college.

So see - simple is good after all :)

GNOME place like home ~ February's leftovers!

 Good Morning, friends!

Today's card is my second card in my new blog series:

"Room for leftovers," 

a blog series goal I gave myself for this year :)

You can see the first post here

and it's a fun way to incorporate my new year's goal:

to use up the scraps and the bits and pieces from card making

because there's always 'Room for Leftovers!'

Some pieces are just so pretty, you use them twice!

For today's card, I used the adorable Lil Gnome from Simon Says Stamps.

Did you know that Garden Gnomes are a symbol of good luck? 

Yep, it’s a little gnome fact!

I love this die! 

 It makes such a cute gnome ♥

 I didn't even realize how many gnome stamps

I owned until I recently started organizing my stamps :/

 I know .... gnomes are everywhere!   

And this one is the perfect size to create a card with just one small bit of paper.

Here's how I repurposed it for this card.

I had a small piece of leftover alcohol ink Yupo paper from a previous card.

I knew to use it this piece, I'd need a die that's pretty small since

this leftover is maybe 4" x 1" in size and not much wiggle room for error. 

I ran the die set and the Yupo strip through my Gemini Jr and 

assembled the pieces to create 2 gnomes - one black, one white.

I wish I'd remembered to photograph it while it was whole,

but I did quickly puzzle piece the parts back in for a quick visual :)

And my completed card!

I kept it simple and CAS for the challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Here's a look at the cutout pieces from that small strip:

Enough to make two little gnomes!

I'm so glad I didn't throw it away.

I'm sure I'll use this die set over and over - 

I already have a couple more ideas sketched out for him!

I chose bright colors because I'm drawn to bright,
 vivid, rich colors that just burst -
they are so cheerful to me!
And I love using up scraps and recycling - waste not, want not!

Celebrating Smoke and Mirrors Day!

Hi friends!

I'm the hostess for the month of March 
with the CCEE Stampers card group and found a new-to-me 'holiday' to celebrate!

Next week is National Smoke and Mirrors Day.

The celebration is based on magicians' illusions, 

where magicians make objects appear or disappear with retracting mirrors

and confusing bursts of smoke.

My challenge?

Wave your magic wand and create a card with a surprise element!

I made my very first ever pivot pop-up card!
I am always so craft-imidated by a lot of the interactive dies 
that I see on social media but decided to give it this one a try ...
it was great fun!

I used the amazing Lawn Fawn pivot die which is so. very. special ♥
It's not just a die that does wonderful things ~
it was a gift to me from one of my besties, Barb!
I hoped to use it for my daughter's baby shower invitations
but she had another idea of what cards she wanted ~
so here we are!

The stamp set I used for this card is from Lawn Fawn ~
it's called Oh Gnome ~  I adore these little cuties!
