CCEE2217 ~ National Dandelion Day!

  Hi friends!

I'm delighted to be your hostess for the month of May

at the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.

I'll be sharing my choice of challenges all month long!

Yesterday was National Dandelion Day so show us your best

dandelion cards (or use an flower as an alternative!)

My card today is sharing this cutie from My Favorite Things ~

Make a Wish Pure Innocence.

I've colored her with my copics

and added a base layer of patterned paper from Echo Park.

Be sure to see all of the Design Team cards here on the blog

at the CCEE Stampers!

If you add your card to a gallery, please use the keyword CCEE2217

so we can find your cards/projects.

The ONE new in '22 ~ May!

Hello friends!

I'm still here!

It's time for my very favorite challenge ~ One Plus Twelve!

This card series is where I take one stamp

(and JUST one stamp)

and create a card twelve times - one for each month.

Meet Miss May!

(in other words, the May 2022 card!)

I've chosen the butterfly stamp from PInk Fresh Studio:

For this month, I channeled a beautiful yellow butterfly that befriended

me while my mom was in the hospital recovering.

It came to the tree outside the window every day,

dancing with the joy of life.

I'm a very spirtiful personal and do believe strongly in symbolism ...

I see dragonflies and know they are from my dad, butterflies are my mom.

So, once again I stamped right onto designer paper

because I wasn't able to bring a stack of markers with me.

This one is just as lovely as can be

and I do love the bright pop of yellow and the florals  :)

I also used the Hero Arts butterfly background die and tore it

for a collage-y look, giving it some 'drama!'

This card doesn't have a sentiment

as it will be an all purpose type card.

My friends, Barb and Jeanette, are joining me this year

in the challenge and you can see their cards on their blogs.

If you'd like to see the real butterfly in flight

that inspired my card, you can see it here on my Instagram.

Kelly

CCEE2215 ~ National Kindergarten Day!

Hi friends!

 Today is National Kindergarten Day!

The CCEE Stampers have a new challenge this week ~ make a card

using primary colors and basic shapes!

Easy Peasy!

Except I snuck in some green.

:)

I know the primary colors, I do ... I do!

I'm just exercising a smidge of artistic freedom

to compliment the 4 shapes in 4 different basic colors.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers Design Team

and see what they've made this week!

Thank you, Liz, our April hostess, for another great challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

DD2 ~ Holographic Sparkle!

Hello loves!

It's time for a new duel at the Dueling Darlings 2

with a theme of: Holographic Sparkle!

Our hostesses for the month of April are Terry and Darlene ~

and it's oh. so. sparkly!

First, WELCOME BACK, Terry!

She was on of our original teamies when we started 11 years ago :)

She also sent me this beautiful card kit

filled with glitz and glam papers and gems that shine!

I decided to use the 2 glitter cardstocks in purple and blue

and focus on those ~ as well as color the image she sent along.

These birthday candles are so fun ~

and I used my copics to color them in the matching colors at the paper.

There was so much in her kit,

I have enough for a 2nd and 3rd card!

Thanks, Terry!

Here are the other ladies in the DD2 with cards from the duel:

CCEE2214 ~ Look Up at The Sky Day!

Hi friends!

I'm back with ano

ther beautiful rainbow card ~

always a cheerful sight!

Liz is the hostess for the month of April

and has a lovely theme this week:  Look Up at The Sky Day!

She says:

It’s "look up at the sky day.”

So recreate something you love as a beautiful part of God’s huge canvas

(maybe a starry night, a bright rainbow, sunrises or sunsets,

 or beautiful cloud formations.

Here is my card!

I've used Tim Holtz distress oxides for the background

and die cut it twice for dimension.

Then I added an embellishment piece I made one Wednesday

to cheer up my loved ones, friends and besties!

I think this one is just so cute :)

I actually created them using paint swatch samples!

It's using these embellishments I made for my channel:

That's it for this video, my friends!

Be sure to check out the rest of the CCEE Stampers!

Hot Mess = Success and March 3M!

Hi friends!

Today's card (image) is playing double duty today

since that's crazy thing called LIFE keeps pulling me from crafting :)

It's the 3 Musketeers mystery image

and the Hot Mess = Success #33 card wrapped up together!

Like a burrito.

Just without all the fixins!

BUT I have to say ........

FUN was the word of today!

You can see the video version of this card here

on my YouTube channel!

My card starts off with the stamp from the 3M card group

sent to me from Jeanette for the March image ~

thank you!

I decided to do some messy play

and create a card (which you will see at another date.)

For today, I literally dumped out watered down acrylic paint pots

and made a collage of painted swirl.

Once it dried, I created a Reverse Spotlight Technique card

using a 2nd stamped image,

added some dots and a sentiment and voila!

LOVE this sweet card.

I don't say that often!

But I do love this one :)

And that's it!

Be sure to see what mess these lovelies created, too:

DD2 ~ Coffee or Tea?

Hello hello!

I'm still playing catch up with my cards so this post will be short :)

Back on March 15th, the DD2 posted cards with the new theme:

Coffee or Tea!

The hostesses were Barb and our newest gal, Lorraine

and they had a dueling theme of coffee (us!) or tea (them!)

I love both both but if I don't have tea, I'm okay!

if I don't have my coffee ..........

RUN.

Kidding!

This month, I used nearly every. single. scrap!

I made a memory dex card since us 'tubers (that's YouTube!)

seem to use them A LOT.

It was fun!

This was fun!

I did 'coffee dye' the paper and then die cut it out and popped it up.

I used the Tim Holtz rosette die to create those

and an assortment of dies to make all the other shapes!

I also had enough little scraps left to create a matching tag:

Here are the participants in the duel:

3M: Wedgewood Bunnies!

Hi everyone!

Happy weekend!  Ours is jammed full

but I was able to steal away a few minutes to create a card!

This month, I'm the hostess of the 3M card group

{Barb, Jeanette and myself}

and I chose a VERY old wooden stamp set from Great Impressions.

Since it's Eastertime, I was feeling this stamp!

I was thinking the other day when I was at my mom's house

how much I loved her wedgewood china when I was little.

She keeps trying to give me pieces of it now

"take a plate!  have a bowl!  want some tea cups?!"

and I keep refusing :)

I stamped out this image in Paris Dusk from Memento

and this just might be the first time I've ever used navy blue ink!

I used some Echo Park paper for the background and the 'grass'

which is a super fun plaid.

And that's my card!

You can see Barb's card here

and Jeanette's card here as they are the other 2/3's of the 3M!

I'm the one in green :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The ONE new in '22 ~ April!

Hi friends!

Today's card is for my One Plus Twelve card series ~

 my FAVORITE!

This year, in 2022, I chose Pink Fresh Studio's Butterfly.

This month, I've used a leftover background piece

from a recent acrylic paint pour that I did.

My granddaughter and I made a pot for her other abuela!

The paint that lands in the box from the paint pour is amazing!

I used several sheets of watercolor paper to 'sop it up'

and after it dried, used it for amazing stamped images.

You can see the video here!

I double die cut the center of my card and added one butterfly

to the base

and one to the top popped up on foam.

The outer layers of my card are intentionally plain and white

since the focal image is super busy with rich colors and paint.

I added a few gold enamel dots for an extra pop!

Love how this turned out!

Be sure to see what Barb and Jeanette have created

this month, too!

The sentiment is from a sentiment strip by CZ Designs -

love it when they are done for me :)

Here's a final look:

That's it for this post, my friends!

The ONE new in '22 ~ March!

Hi friends!

I'm still here!

It's been 1000% overdrive on maximum velocity in our family

and I can't seem to catch a break.

Not to craft and make cards like I'd like ~

and I'm just barely able to keep up with my YouTube channel

commitments and collaborations but it's FUN FUN FUN!

AND

I'm absolutely loving the entries to my birthday challenge giveaway

 and seeing everyone's talent!

My goodness, everyone is a crafty superstar!

I have a card share today that was to be posted March 3rd ...

but at least it's still March!

This is for my One Plus Twelve card series that is my FAVORITE!

Shhhhhh.

Don't tell my other cards that :)

This year, in 2022, I chose Pink Fresh Studio's Butterfly.

This month, I am using a scrap of quilt like designer paper

that was just barely enough to complete a card.

I feel VERY accomplished that I was able to use an entire 12 x 12

sheet of paper to make quite a few crafty items, like this card:

And if you peep the orchids in the background,

those are from my daughter's high school graduation!

She is now 25 and moved into her own condo ~

and they are still going strong <3

If you'd like to see the video of this card,

you can stop by my channel here!

CC2210 ~ St. Patrick's Day!

Hi friends!

It's time for another CCEE Stampers challenge

brought to us by Frances!

Today is St Patrick’s Day.

Create a card that features either leprechauns or gnomes.

Now let's take a look at the cards our Design Team created this week.

While I don't have a card today, I do have a mini pocket letter!

And it has a gnome underneath the shamrock confetti :)

This was my first pocket letter and it was a fun one to make!

Here is the video version on my YouTube channel

And here it is on the front:

And the flip side:

See the bottom right corner - top hat and red beard?  That's a gnome!

The gold coins are coming out of the pot 'o gold

and of course, there had to be a rainbow!

This folds up to the size of an ATC card

and I've added it to a green net bag.

Be sure to head over to the CCEE Stampers here!

CC2209 ~ Die Cuts Only!

  Hi friends!

There's a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers this week:  Die Cuts!

Die Cuts Only - create a card that is created using dies only, no stamps.

If you must, you can use a stamp for the sentiment, but bonus points if you use dies.

Well ............

it's good that there is some wiggle room for these challenges

because I stamped the flower THEN die cut!

I used the new Tim Hotlz Saltwater Taffy distress oxide

and an Altenew flower

along with Impression Obsession stitched frame die.

Journal Art Prompt!

Hi friends!

Mixed Media art is something I've always long admired.

I seen countless journals and canvases

and artistic creations that just WOW me!

But I haven't dabbled ...  much :)

I took a chance and signed up for a journal cover art prompt open collab

on YouTube hosted by 2 YouTube creators.

Here is my video!

It was a really interesting concept ....

we were mailed a 1" chipboard binder, a plain chipboard cover

and an art journal business card.

Then, we created a cover based on that card

and mailed it to the person who's name we got!

Here is the art journal prompt card I received (created by Rosie!)

And here is the journal cover I created.

The rules were to use 3-5 colors/theme/items from the prompt card

to recreate the cover.

I kept the emerald green color, the design from the paper and material,

bling and butterfly and color palette through-out.

I had a lot of fun putting this together for my partner!
