CCEE2023 ~ Rose

Hi friends!

I'm back with another card for this week's card challenge
at the CCEE Stampers ~ Roses!
Vicky is our hostess for the month of June and says:

Symbolically, the rose has more meanings than one can count!

*  A pink rose means perfect happiness, while a red rose means "I love you."
*  A white rose signifies innocence, purity, and new beginnings.
*  A yellow rose conveys jealousy.

A bouquet of roses means sincere gratitude, whereas a single rose amplifies the meaning of the color (a single red rose means "I REALLY love you").  She asked us to make a card with a single rose or a bouquet of roses . . . or however many roses you want!

 Happy Rose Day!

You may have seen yesterday's post about my new Karin brushmarker pro markers, which I started playing with and just went in all kinds of directions!
I thought it would be fun to try them out with a floral stamp
and chose Organic Blooms by Mama Elephant.
I sure hope these are roses!

I had a little free time this weekend to give it a go.
Card #1 ~ colored (post TBA)
Card #2 ~ tie-dye watercolor wash (yesterday's card)
Card #3 (this one!) ~ simple brush watercoloring

I started by heat embossing a white panel of #120 lb cardstock
with white embossing powder and Versamark.
I heat set that and added different colored markers to my palette
and used the brush to add it to my florals.
At the time, I didn't have photo or guide
and had to 'wing it' as to what was where!

Once it was dry, I stamped and added a sentiment and popped it into a frame.
This has been on my desk for a few days and my little granddaughter
'helped' color it - can you see the tiny orange scribble with her colored pencil?
But how could I be upset! :)

These knew-to-me markers are definitely quite the learning curve
But the process was fun and I wanted to present my card anyway
because we all start somewhere :)
I think it's wonderful to know where we start at
and over time, keep striving and keep learning!

Be sure to head to the CCEE Stampers blog
to link up your cards featuring roses!

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs, bigger blessings.
~Kelly

I'll enter my card to:  Word Art Wednesday
