DDD ~ Rudolph's Red Nose!

Hi friends!

It's time for the last DDD duel of this year ~

we take December off to enjoy the holidays :)

For this duel, Carol and Shelly put their noses together

and came up with a super fun holiday theme:

Rudolph's Red Nose!

As part of Team Divas, I received an adorable kit with C C Designs

reindeer games and Carol was SO SWEET to include all 3!

Yep, I squealed!

I'll be making a lot of cute cards with these stamps :)

Here is my card for the duel:

Surprisingly for me,

I chose the first designer paper from the ones she sent - plain black.

It was strange for me for a Christmas card but it matched perfectly

with the holy berry paper so I just went with it.

I added a small dollop of the shiny dsp to the corner as a nod to the red nose.

Rudolph is colored with copics and popped up in front of the sentiment

and the final touch is the red pompom on his hat.

You can see all the Diva and Dazzler cards at Splitcoaststampers

in the gallery under DDD cards.

DDD: Bargain Hunters!

Hi friends!

It's the 15th of the month
and that means another duel between the Divas and the Dazzlers.
In a few months, the DDD card group will be 10 years old! ♥

Each month, there are 2 hostesses for each team with just one theme ~
and this month, it's Jeanette and I.
We came up with a theme of bargain hunters since we both like
thrift stores and shopping for bargains ♥

For my kit, I went with a "Hey Gnomie!" stamp and die.
I decided on this theme when I saw the Pink and Main huge clearance sale
as gnomes are e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e!
I sent the divas a kit with stamped images and cut out ones to chose from.
I also included matching gnome designer paper from Photo Play
(clearance sale at Scrapbook.com) and
mushroom ribbon and gnome brads from the clearance section at Eyelet Outlet.

So let's get started with my card!
I used the fun gnome designer paper for the top
and a striped for the bottom and seperated it with twine.
I decided not to use the gnome ribbon or brads - that will be another card later :)

And here's the inside ↓

And that's it for my huntin' bargains this month!
You can see the divas and the dazzlers cards
at Splitcoaststampers in our card group called the Dueling Darlings!
There are too many blogs to list
so be sure to check the gallery :)

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

DDD: Kindness ♥

Good Morning, friends!

*I have two blog posts today - for  my The Project Bin Monday post, go here!

It's the 15th day of the month and that means the Dueling Darlings
are back with a new theme!
The Dueling Darlings are a group of 2 teams of card making friends -
Team Divas and Team Dazzlers!
This month, Jeanette and I were the hostesses to create card kits
and she was generous enough to let me chose the theme this month:

Kindness!

As many of you know, it's my Word of the Year as shared in this post ♥
But kindness is truly more than just a word of the year,
it should be shared every day, in every way.

The kit I put together for Team Divas included an image that I ADORE!
It's from Unity stamps called Thank You Kindly
I also sent a few kindness sentiments to use - one from Unity
and the other from a Simon Says Stamps set.

Now for my card!
I sent out all the kits, one went to a sweet friend by accident,
another still out in lost mail land,
so I had to improvise with my card kit since I didn't have two extras.
I only had slivers of paper left.

And you know ... crafters gonna craft ....
can't keep a good crafter down!
 LOL!

To come up with a plan B,
I used a watercolor stenciled background and stamped the image
directly onto the dried watercolor paper.
I took a stitched die and cut out the middle part of the image
and popped up the outer one on 3D foam for dimension.
In hindsight, I wish I'd cut the outer stenciled frame in the same stitched die :)
I added half the sentiment with white heat embossing on the front,
and finished up the second half on the inside:

And that's it for us this month!

Be sure to come back next month and see what the theme will be ~
I can't wait to find out when my card kit arrives :)

There are a lot of DDD posts today
and you can find them at Splitcoaststamper:  Dueling Darlings!

DDD ~ Be a Kid at Heart :)

Happy Monday, friends!
I hope your Valentine's celebrations were lovely

Today is the day that we Dueling Darling post our cards.
The DDD = the Dueling Darling Divas or Dazzlers,
a card kit exchange friendship group.
{The Divas have one card kit to work with, while the Dazzlers have another,
however, the theme is the same
It's always fun to see what we "duel" up in cardstock,
 papers and wonderful images!}
This month, Kadie and Paola are the hostesses
and their wonderful theme is:
Be a Kid at Heart!

I can do that!

Kadie sent the Divas our super cute kit this month ~
I had a hard time deciding which papers to use ;)
Here is the card I made with the adorable Mickey Mouse image,
matching fun image and sparkly sequins.

The second part of Kadie and Paola's challenge was to add a heart
somewhere on the card and give your card to a child ♥
The heart brad in the kit didn't make it to my card,
but I can definitely share my card with a child ~ my own!
My dd2 will be heading to Disney's casting call
next month for an audition ....
this card will be perfect tucked into her overnight bag,
filled to the brim with love ♥

Please be sure to stop by and see what all the DDD's
have created with 1 theme, 2 different card kits!
You can find all the links in my sidebar right over there

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!
