DD2 ~ Gotcha Day!

Hi everyone!

Today is a PURR-fect day!

Today is Oliver's 'Gotcha Day!'

Oliver is a sweet little Siamese kitty that I rescued

near my home and is a sweet part of our (pet) family!

So for this month's Dueling Darlings 2 duel,

I sent both teams a kit!

Jeanette (Team B leader) was gracious enough to let me send them

to both dueling teams - thank you, Jeanette!

Since the duel today landed on October 15th,

I wanted the kits to have 1. a kitty and 2. a friend!

So I went with 2 stamp companies - this one

and to see the other, you'll have to check out the Dueling Darlings!

Now to my card!

I used Colorado Craft Company's stamp Kindness Matters

and colored it with my prismacolor markers.

When creating the kits for everyone, mine should be in tones of pink

but I didn't have enough for 4 - just 3!

I wanted to make sure the other teamies were matching

so I took the 'short straw' LOL

But that's okay~  I love the blues!

Be sure to check out the rest of the duel

and Happy Gotcha Day, Oliver!

Thanks for stopping by!

CCEE2240 ~ Happy Birthday U.S. Navy!

Hi all!

Happy Thursday the 13th!

And ..........

In the United States of America , October 13

is the day that the U.S. Navy celebrates as their birthday.

To honor the men and women who have stepped up to serve our nation

as members of the Navy since its inception, create a  card with a nautical theme.

Thanks to our hostess, Lynn, for another great challenge!

As you can see (ha! no pun intended!), I had an oopsie moment

and didn't read the nautical theme part - just US Navy!

My mind went military and red/white/blue

but I did include the word SEA on my card .... in the sentiment :)

And aw shucks, too, because I have a ton of boat/sea stamps!

I used the Altenew stamp set 'Land Of The Free' Eagle

and the sentiment from America the Beautiful

which - FUN FACT - isn't the national anthem of the USA

(the Star Spangled Banner is!)

Be sure to stop in the CCEE Stampers blog

and see what the DT has created this week!

You can also link up your cards to an online gallery or Splitcoaststampers

by using the code CCEE2239.

CCEE2239 ~ National Bring your BIble to School Day!

Hi friends!

Happy Birthday to my little granddaughter, Alice!

She's 4 years old today and I am just amazed at how fast she is growing up!  She was named after Alice in Wonderland AND born on Mad Hatter's Day ~ so wild!

There's also a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers this week with our hostess for the month of October: Lynn!  She writes:

In the United States, today is National Bring Your Bible to School Day.

For that reason, our challenge for this week is quite simple:

use a Bible scripture as the sentiment on the front of your card design.

If loading your card to an online gallery, please include key word CCEE2239.

 Thank you, Lynn!

Here is my hybrid card this week ~

as between vacation, her parties, homecoming week, etc -

it's about as much as I could get together this week!

The bible verse (Philemon 1:7 NIV)

is so sweet and Lucy is doing a great job here

of shouting it out!

Always lift up your voice and never be afraid to speak your truth :)

Color, Craft, Card!

 Hi all!

Happy Friday!

Today's card is a little of this and a little of that!

Sometimes I find stamped/die cut images in a small jar

as I'm cleaning up my craft desk ...

so I decided to craft with these colored images on a card!

Lucky me- I found all of these!

This was a fun card to make!

If you'd like to see the video version,

it's here!

And you'd like to subscribe to my channel, that would be awesome, too!

Here's my card:

This one is for an Instagram hop that I am in

each Thursday ~

and we had so much fun,

we will be back in October!

CCEE2238 ~ National Coffee Day!

Hi everyone ~

what a day, what a day!

It's National Coffee Day!

(which is totally a ME holiday!)

But - here in Florida - we are also experiencing

the horrendous Hurricane Ian

so we are praying for our state!

It made landfall a few hours ago

and we are just hoping for the best news all around

with everyone safe and accounted for.

My card!

it's been a wonderful month of challenges

and I hope you have enjoyed playing (or viewing) along with the cards!

My theme this week:

Make a card using any coffee theme.

Coffee images, coffee dyed paper, etc.

Use the code CCEE2238

Although coffee stamps are probably the MOST in my collection,

I used this MFT Pure Innocence stamp again

because she's truly one of my favorites!

I did some paper piecing on her dress

and the rest colored with copics

and fall themed papers.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more inspiration

and to link up your cards!

3M: Cute Scarecrow Henry!

Hi friends!

Today's post is me playing catch up!

I finally had a chance to create a card with the 3M image

for this month  ~

this cute CC Designs Scarecrow Henry!

It's absolutely a-dor-a-ble!

The Three Musketeers (Barb, Jeanette and I) have created

cards together since November 2014

and we are almost at our 100th swap!

ONE HUNDRED!

Mind. Blown!

If you want to see the Youtube chat about this card,

you can see it here in my card share!

The idea behind the 3M was Jeanette's baby idea

and we take turned sending each other a stamped image

(from a list of allowed shareable stamp companies.)

We each received this cute scarecrow which I colored

with my copic markers.

I used some Echo Park fall themed papers

to create a base for the card and then colored it to match.

This was so fun and a great way to remember:

It's fall ya'll!

If you'd like to see how Jeanette and Barb used this image,

head over to their blogs, too!

Next month, Barb is up and I can't wait to see what she is sending!

Thanks for stopping by!

CCEE2237 ~ Happy 1st day of autumn!

 Hi friends!

Happy first day of autumn!

September 22, 2022 is officially the beginning of fall :)

Such a gorgeous time of year

(unless you're in South Florida -

and then it's still perpetually SUMMER!)

I challenged the design team to create a fall themed card

this week at the CCEE Stampers blog

and here's what I made:

I kept my card pretty CAS and let the papers be the wow factor this week.

I used a new to me stamp set from Penny Black that I purchased

last year and never used until now!

Be sure to see what the DT created this week by

heading over to the blog!

The ONE in '22 ~ September!

Hi my friends!

It's time for my FAVORITE card challenge ~

One Plus Twelve!

This is my 4th year doing this personal challenge,

one I made up literally in the middle of the night ...

and it's my absolute favorite card creation idea!

(and I have LOTS of 'em!)

This month, I'm heading to Disney!

Not literally .......... that's in October!

Woohoo!

SI decided to use my Echo Park Birthday Boy paper collection

and make a Disney inspired card for this month's challenge.

Sorry about the bad photo quality ~

I dropped my camera and the internal software is bonkers!

Please see what Barb and Jeanette

have created as they are also doing this challenge in 2022.

Thanks for stopping by!

CCEE2234 ~ International Toy Testing Day!

Hi friends!

I'm the hostess for the September challenges at the CCEE Stampers

and I'll be bringing you a new idea to create a card each Thursday!

Today is International Toy Testing Day

so I've challenged the amazing design team - and all of you -

to show us your cards with a toy/toys on them!

Think Christmas cards and Santa’s workshop, too!

Here's my card with the elves goofin' off at Christmas!

They are eating cookies, playing on the rocking horse TOY,

falling asleep instead of packing the toys onto the sleigh!

TOO cute!

This is one of my favorite holiday sets from Hero Arts

and I've created a little snowy scene outside the workshop window.

Be sure to stop in the CCEE Stampers blog

and link up your card as well as check out the DT cards!

Use the code CCEE2234 on any online gallery.

CCEE2233 ~ Pluto Demoted Day!

Hi friends!

BEEN a hot minute since I've posted

and I have a lot of cards card kits stuff to catch up on,

but first!

It's time for a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers!

Frances is our hostess for August and this is her challenget today:

According to the Days of the Year web site, yesterday 24th August was Pluto Demoted Day,

this day marks the occasion in 2006 when Pluto was demoted

from being a planet to a dwarf planet.

For our challenge today, create a card that has a space theme.

Oh poor Pluto!

I grew up knowing Pluto as a planet so to see it demoted

envokes a tiny bit of awwwwww!

But here's my card!

A bit cheeky but a fun one!

I created the background using old nailpolish and water

and dipped the cardstock into the water ~

hences, getting this galaxy-ish, tie-dye-ish look!

Good enough :)

I added the astronaut from My Favorite Things set

as if he's floating about in space and the sentiment

which is a perfect match - was one I found laying on my desk!

Good.  Thing.  I.  Didn't.  Clean.  Up!

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog

and see what everyone has made today!

Thanks for stopping by!

CCEE2232 ~ National Peach Month!

   Hi friends!

    You're a peach!

And so is the month of August :)

There's a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers blog

with our hostess, Frances and this is her challenge!

Apparently August is Peach month and Monday 22nd August is National Peach Day,

so for our challenge this week create a card that features one or more things

that begin with the letter "P" ..

A punched image; patterned paper; pansy; paint; person

or a product that is from a company whose name starts with “P”.

Wow that is a lot of P's but creative enough that I'm sure

you'll find something in your crafty stash to play along!

For my card, I used a stamp from Pink Fresh Studio

as well as as Paint (watercolor) for my image and background.

I also used Peaches and Cream cardstock (Fun Stampers Journey)

and Peach colored enamel dots (Altenew).

Be sure to head over to the CCEE Stampers blog

and check out all the DT cards

as well as link up yours, too!

Thanks for stopping by!

CCEE2231~ Embossing folders!

                                                                  Hi Crafty Friends,

There's a new challenge at the CCEE Stampers from our hostess, Frances.

She writes:

A few months ago, Jennifer McGuire shared a technique using embossing folders.

Let’s give it a try. You can find Jennifer's tutorial here.

For my card, I did use an Altenew embossing folder called mega succulent.

It's an extraordinary one to use!

I ran it through the Gemini Jr

and then blended distress oxide inks onto the top of the cardstock

to highlight certain areas.

Be sure to see what the Design Team has created by heading to the blog!

3M: Wildflower bouquet!

Hi friends!

I have a new card to share today for the 3M card group

 ~ the 3 Musketeers ~

and it's a wildflower beauty!

We are 3 friends that create cards virtually

and take turns sending a mystery stamped image

then

we each make a card with that stamped image using our own supplies :)

Here's mine!

I wanted the image to be the focal point of the card

so I added a sentiment to the inside of the card.

I normally only show the front of my cards

so the recipient can be surprised

but this one is heading to a local nursing home

for my son's carddonation so I'll share a peek :)

Thank you, Barb, for a beautiful image to work with this month.

To see what Barb and Jeanette created using this same image,

head over to their blogs

Barb

Jeanette

and we will be back next month with another mystery image!

Thanks for stopping by!
